  • DISCLAIMER: I am not a technician, my machine is out of warranty; I assume my own responsibility for the damage made to MY machine. If you try disassembling your machine, you take the risk to completely break it.
Recently I bought cheap coffee grains, and I hadn’t clean the brewing group for a good couple of weeks: I found larvas in the waste coffee, so I decided to fully clean the machine. The problemi s that there is a hidden plase near the base of the brewing group where the coffee powder was hidden, and so I needed to disassemble the machine to get there. Since I haven’t found a tutorial (I found a video of a Russian man, but he didn’t get where I needed to clean), so I decided to do one.
I recorded the video in the evening but I already had partially disassembled the machine in the morning, then I fastly reassembled it forgetting a screw and putting back the gears in the wrong way (and so the machine was not working anymore..!!).
Before this Picobaristo (bought in 2022) I had a Saeco Talea Touch (since 2005) that I disassembled multiple times for maintenance, and I still have some spare parts (in fact I use a seal in the video); I replaced the Talea (still working, I just parked it in the attic) only because I wanted a machine that could automatically prepare milk-based drinks, otherwise I should have bought the Milk Island, but I think that would be obsolete nowadays.

You saved me at least $900. We didn’t have quite the same machine but close enough and your video saved my sanity. Thank you!

Great job! This is one of the most difficult machines to dissasemble to get at the grinder and I could not have done it without watching your video. Thank you so much!

HOPE IT HELPS SOME OF YOU!
If your machine is not dispensing coffee but hot water works, follow these steps:
    1. Change the brew group.
    2. Replace the rubber bands.
    3. Deep clean the espresso dispenser head by taking it apart and replacing any worn-out rubber bands.
Thank you so much, Wunjio. Without your help, I wouldn’t have made it this far.
    Best regards,

Excellent. I was going to make a tuto cause as you, i was frustrated to not find reasonably good instruction or video (which was not a clickbait in 8parts occulting the tricky points) when i did my first disassembly.
Yours is top noch , i couldn’t do it better. thanks!!! And one thumb up, one!

Thanks for the video, it was very valuable.
I got the device from the neighbor who bought a new one because the old one gave too cold coffee, thanks to your video device I opened it to check the heating element and temperature switches. Then I realized that I should have checked the device for proper functioning before to take it apart. So put it back together and tested it, the coffee temperature was 55 degrees, the device was descaled, it didn't work according to the descaling program, so just made ""coffee"" with descaling agent. After this the coffee temperature was 65 degrees I think this is OK. I now know what a "Saeco Pico Braristo" looks like inside.
    Greetings Hans Wijler.

Thank you so much for this video!! My husband put chocolate chips in the machine in stead of beans ... so it was melted all in the grinder. I coulnd't get to it, almost sent my machine to a dealer and as a last resort thought about youtube. There's just 1 problem ... 1 have 2 screws left haha, but at least I have coffee again!!

if you get the gear asembly replaced in the wrong position, you dont need to keep trying to get it in the right position. there in a lobe on the gear that actuates a switch, stopping the gear in the proper position. you are able to put the handle of a plastic spoon in the slot that the tab on the brew unit is. then put another plastic spoon handle in the slot that the tab on the door goes. This will trick the machine intothinking that the brew unit is installed and the door is shut. Push the espresso butten and the machine will cycle and put the gear in the proper location. be aware of hot water and coffee grounds. Also use plastice spoons to insulate yourself from the voltage
