- This is the new 2024 Ferrari 12 Cilindri! The covers are off the long awaited successor to the 812 Superfast, rumoured as the "Roma V12", and Ferrari have completed the impossible by bringing it to market with a naturally aspirated V12. A future Shmeemobile perhaps, let's check it out!
Following on from the F12berlinetta, F12tdf, 812superfast, 812 GTS and 812 Competizione is no easy feat, but that's exactly where the new 12Cilandri steps in - the name literally meaning "12 Cylinders" in Italian. Heavily inspired visually by one of the most iconic 12-cylinder Ferraris of all time, the cues to the Daytona 365 GTB/4 are there in droves, especially the band that wraps around the front.
Like the Versione Speciale of its predecessor, the fantastic 812 Competizione, the 12 Cilindri features a 6.5l NA V12 that revs to 9,500rpm and produces 830hp along the way with 80% from 2,500rpm. Building on the technology of the Comp, the engine comes without turbos or hybrid assist - something not frequently found on the market today. Inside there are some hefty updates to bring the model in line with the technology found in its 4 door sibling, the Ferrari Purosangue, and some of those comparisons we can look at in my garage.
I cannot wait to see this car in person; with both the 12 Cilindri and 12 Cilindri Spider launching simultaneously, it'll be a very interesting choice ahead...!

I apologise for butchering the beautiful Italian language; this one was tricky and I was so fixated on getting the 'h' into each word, that I confused the 'i' in Cilindri. Tell you what, if we see one of these in the Shmeemobiles, I'm going to have to practice that a fair bit more...
While Italians everywhere appreciate the effort at correct pronunciation just put it into Google Translate first and youâll get the accurate pronunciation because you were adding an a into Cilindri that isnât in there and youâre putting the emPHAsis on the wrong syLLAble đ it really ultimately doesnât matter that much (because as I said, the effort is appreciated) but itâs like nails on the chalkboard if you speak the language đ
For penance you have to buy one. đđđ I thought the GTS would be the dream but now i'm here trying to figure out how to get my accountant to okay me putting the money down on the 12 Cilindri Spider.
It might be time to drive to Italy and sign up for a language school ;-)

Love the 12Cilindri!! Perfect modern version of the 365!
I find the name rather interesting and it goes along with how Ferrari has been naming their super-GTs in recent years. They all refer to the fact that they have a 12-cylinder engine in some fashion. The F12 is self-explanatory, the 812 has a V12 that produces up to at least 800 horsepower, and now we have 12 Cilindri which literally means 12 Cylinder.
Ferrari generally seem to have a common denominator in the names, but it can be off sometimes. But for the three variants of those platform, 12 has been the shared name. The previous three cars were the 550, 575 and 599.
And hereâs a bit of ibscure trivia. Internally the 80âs Testarossa was the Testarossa 12. That again means a common denominator. Testarossa 12, 512TR and 512M.
@@AB-80-X Let's also not forget the 612 Scaglietta, which had the 5.7L V12 from the 575 Superamerica but of course, Ferrari wanted to round it up. Regardless of how confusing the naming can be, I still find Ferrari's nomenclature to be quite fascinating.

Canât really mix the 612 into it. Different range and platform. It got a name on its own because 575 was already taken. But its predecessor the 456 used displacement as well. The 612 was an odd name. The only thing in that name which had relevance was really the 12.
@@AB-80-X I'm aware of that. But then you got cars like the 296 GTB/GTS where they technically are basing the name off of displacement even though the V6 is really a 3L and not a 2.9L.
I think the wheels are throwing me off, itâs crazy how a set of wheels can make or break a car. The lines are sexy and the engine sounds glorious though so wheels would be an easy fix

Well there will hopefully be alternatives available. We will see. I just hope they have also increased tyre diameter so the arch gaps get closed up and the ride stays nice. Not keen on the idea of a 275/30-21 instead of a 275/35-20.

Agree the wheels on the âGTBâ donât look great but there are some other issues too. Perhaps they are fixable with the right colour.
Iâm not sure the world needed a modern Daytona. It was perfect for the time but not sure it looks right now.

It would be nice to call it the Daytona but the sp3 has been given that name knowing this car was coming next. I wish the sp3 was called something else like testarossa or maybe a different unique name since it is a very unique and special car.

I honestly think this is the nicest looking car in yeara from ferrari. This will stand the test of time and its a kodern look on its history. Wow and still a naturally aspirated V12 so ballsay calling it 12 cylinder. Thats a mic drop.

I think the car was meant to strictly resemble the 365 GTB/4 âPlexiglassâ version, given how adamant Ferrari is on the front nose strip being black and not the same as body color.
When the Revuelto launched I didn't liked it, but it grew on me and I love it now, I think same will happen here

Not gonna Lie if the Front nose And Back part of the Window was Body colored I think it would look more Sleek tbh, I think the Black throws it off just a little
Kinda like the Lamborghini Revoulto black Headlight Inner part being black instead of body colored really gave the car some identity
Honestly i dont like the front black stripe (probably because I dont like the old daytona for that), it looks weird and not that aggressive, it doesnt gove that "Oh those are the headlights" effect like the 812 did. The back is a pure beauty, i would have excpected more power.

But Ferrari v12 gt's aren't made to be aggressive,that was what's wrong about the original 812 sf (and a lot also complained how it looked back when it was launched)it looked like it was straight into the track-focused version instead of the base version, this however the design is perfect for what it is trying to be -a grand tourer V12 Ferrari.
Not a fan either, and Mancini knows it will not be a popular choice. Hence why they want cars out in the beginning with this design.

i think itâs really cool. Resembles one of my favourite cars, the Daytona. I think when this car receives historic liveries, it will be insanely cool. The only flaw i have tho is that it should have TDF rims or something similar to that styling
The design of the back is the highlight. Therefore, the coupĂ© is far more beautiful. No doubt for me đ

It would not matter. Ferrari basically. Moved the whole design team from spin in to their in-house shop. It is the same people who designed Ferraris at Pinin who are now with Ferrari.

I initiated hated it but talking to someone from the F1 team I found out Ferrari objective wasn't to make something faster than 812 but to keep the V12 alive and respect for that. It's starting to grow on me but I am still not sure about the black trim on red

I completely disagree, this car looks incredible. However, I've been in the car world for long enough to have seen this cycle enough times - when the 812 Competizione launched, the reaction was similar yet now most people love it. This is cyclical, people don't like something unfamiliar at first, then they grow to realise that the designers actually knew best!
