- I'm in Italy for a dream drive in the new Pagani Utopia! Equipped with a V12 engine, and a manual gearbox, this one-of-99 hypercar is everything as special as you imagine, with nowhere better to experience it for the first time than Motor Valley around Pagani HQ. Now, come along for the ride!
Following on the heels of Zonda and Huayra, the Utopia was born under the codename C10, but very much bringing a third chapter in the amazing 25 year history to date of Pagani Automobili. Utopia by name is a place of which we dream, something that does not exist - as defined by philosopher, Thomas Moore, and that is exactly what this car is like when you start to take it all in.
Unusually in the modern era, it is entirely powered by an internal combustion engine, there's no hybrid system, but purely a 6.0l Twin Turbo V12 that produces 864ps and an extraordinary 1,100Nm. In turn that produces all sorts of complications that could easily be overcome by the use of an evolution to the Huayra's automated manual / sequential gearbox, however the team worked tireless to introduce an optional 7 speed dog-leg manual variant. What that means for driving comfort; balancing ease of use at low speeds with high end performance, well that's what we're going to find out.
Having previously visited Pagani to explore the museum, Atelier, and even spec my own dream Utopia, this time it's an opportunity to head out for the ultimate experience and to be able to share what it feels like to be lucky enough to jump into the driver's seat of a Pagani Utopia. There's no denying it is a stunning car to behold, a mixture of artistry and automotive perfection, and when you combine a manual gearbox with a V12 engine, it becomes quite literally a petrolhead's paradise.

Thats what separates them from everyone else, they are not trying to be the fastest, most powerful or whatever, plenty of others do that already. What they are about is art on wheels, every single piece of engineering is meant to reflect something and is a work of art. These cars hold a special place in automotive world, and Pagani is a brand unlike any other.
And you didn’t even mention the manual transmission, which might be the most insane part about the car lol.

This is by far, eventhough it has its own futuristic-steampunk-swiss watch thing look which may not be to everyone's liking, the most beautiful looking car i've ever seen lately
And that's why art is subjective, cause while I can appreciate the design and detail and refinement, I think it's one of the ugliest hypercars I've seen in a while haha. Now the new collaborative concept Alisea, that is utterly beautiful.

Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, because to me the most beautiful car ever made is the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB 😍 Its a car that I would walk down to my garage every night before bed to simply pull out a chair, sit down and stare at my car for an hour, with a huge smile on my face and cup of tea in my hand.

Absolutely unbelievable! The noise sounds like a Zonda mixed with a Huayra. I definitely wasn’t convinced on the Utopia at first but after seeing a few in person and this video I’m absolutely in love 😍

For real. At first glance I liked the previous car better, but 20 mins later I feel quite conflicted which I like more. But I honestly believe the last one was an absolute perfect masterpiece. And that can’t really be “topped”. Both are stunning.

The steampunk-ish looking interior looks quite spectacular ngl. It's one of the things that really set this hypercar apart from offerings of pretty much all other hypercars.

Waau. I bought my first Pagani in 2000. I was in a shop buying groceries. As a toy collector, I always passed the toy section where I saw this master piece. The name was unheard of, so I put it back but hid it way down behind other cars. This "thing" kept bothering me, so the next day I went back and bought it. Never looked back. That was my first 1:18 Pagani Zonda. Still have it. Love from Africa.

This is the best Pagani so far, especially a manual version, artwork on wheels and pure raw auto combustion power, “if only” I had the money.
If you had the money and you wanted to drive a performance car, you would never buy this. This kind of car is a show horse for events and otherwise stowed away.

It’s great to see that Pagani is keeping alive the coach building aspect of creating pieces of art on wheels.
First of all, I would like to say, ("Thank you") to Shmee for showing us this beautiful work of art.
I will say that this ("Pagani Utopia) is the MOST BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN of an Ultra Refines Hypercar, I have ever seen. This is my first time seeing this vehicle. Immediately, I could tell that the refinement was 100% spot on from the door opening to the interior. When I first saw the interior I was blown away; by the perfection, fit, and finish. Not to mention the craftsmanship, which is, (hands down the best) in the hypercar market.
The design principles used [in and out] in this Pagani; are the most thoroughly thought out, meticulously crafted, with the utmost precision of, (art and science), of any HYPERCAR in the world... I do not believe there is a car in the world, as refined as this hypercar. Pagani, "thank you" for making a hypercar that has shocked my senses most pleasantly.
Shmee, "thank you" as well for showing us the genius of Pagani and his team.

This car is a masterpiece! There is no angle from which it looks less than stunning, no interior detail that looks anything other than a designer, bespoke version of itself. It's the sort of car that transforms the time spent around it; even a traffic jam becomes an opportunity for you to drink the interior (I'd be gazing into those gorgeous blue dials) while everyone outside the car gets an extended view of it's inspired exterior design. The fact that it doesn't intimidate, as these cars almost inevitably do, is just the icing on the cake. A "usable" hyper-car?
Yes..that is a super car…in the way that Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati were considered 60/70 years ago…a car for the famous, the inspiring, the aspirational and the super rich. It doesn’t raid a parts bin and share bits with Skoda and Fiat….it is its own creation and that makes it almost certainly unique. I can never buy one but would if I could….much like I looked at Ferraris in those years…nice but impossible to be mine. Thank you Tim for taking us along for the ride…at least we can get an idea of how special this car really is.🙂🙂🙂

Why? Automatics are much faster and you have no chance of killing the geatbox with a misshift. Too much power and old, cheap technology. Let us keep it in cheap cars though!

This is the first Pagani I like, and finally, a classic, elegant interior/dashboard from Pagani.
26:16 Tim showing the biggest flaw of this car. If Pagani does not want a horizontal line, just slant it the other way around. And you can open and close the clamshell without having to open both doors. After three models, one would think Pagani could have done something about it.
