    I've played this guitar. It's perfect for the money - almost a steal. The back of this guitar looks like it should cost over $2K and the craftsmanship is just on a different level for this price. I'm getting one for Xmas this year. It's probably the first time I've ever felt so good about buying a guitar. Warm and fuzzy.

    I tried one of these the other day, I loved it! I usually play a lot of electric and haven't really touched an acoustic recently since mine broke. But I'm thinking about one of these for my next acoustic.

    very smooth tuners are nice to have and the neck/board allow it to have a really nice feel for a nail player. Very nice if you play classical and otherwise delicate finger picking

    Nice playing Sir, I've had one of these for almost a year now. Went to G.C. and ask the person there to pick me out 4 guitars under $1700.00, that were Concert body size. 1-Gibson, 1-Martin, 1-Breedlove, and 1-Taylor. I kept an open mind even though inside I realy wanted to walk out with one of the big names, Martin or Taylor. Saw the Takamine on the wall, and it was BEAUTIFUL. Played it not knowing the price. OMG, had to have it, and have loved it eversince. $550.00, are you kidding me. People this thing is a great guitar period. No I do not work for Takamine

    I got this around Thanksgiving just to play out with because it was an Auditorium body style and the Dreads I have are hurting my back when i play for a full evening and my Tak EAN15c was starting to get pretty dinged up (soft cedar top). I have a Rainsong Dr1000 and a Tak EAN15c, both pretty high end guitars. I was quite surprised to find the playability, intonation and plugged in sound to be on pare with my much more expensive EAN15C and Rainsong. Even though it doesn't have the Palethetic Pickup system higher end Taks have, it still sounds great thorugh my Fishman Pro EQ Platinum preamp. This has actually become my go-to guitar for both gigging and practice and because it has laminate back and sides I don't even bother humidifying it. The back looks so stunning and it sounds so good, people think I upgraded! Here's a live video recorded just straight from the video camera. czcams.com/video/IqxzMmgVt10/video.html

    In my opinion, Takamine guitars are fun to play, have low action, and beautiful resonance. However, what I look for in an acoustic guitar is a bigger bass forte that Martin and Taylor guitars have. Still a fun guitar to play with though

    • @vzeller
      @vzeller Před 3 lety

      You definitely haven't played one with a cool tube pre-amp because it blows Taylor and Martin away in the lower Hz range. If you are talking about unplugged in the room, I agree with you. These guitars are made for the stage and their electronics.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi, Jesse. That guitar has many great features, including a solid spruce top, great electronics system, and quartersawn bracing. The only difference between those two models is the body shape. Thanks for your interest!

    Just ordered this exact model! Reasonable for the price, however I suggest a quick fix by replacing the synthetic bone nut with a real quality one; it'll improve the tonality and resonance.

    • @alderladybius9385
      @alderladybius9385 Před rokem

      The GD has a dreadnought body which is usually thicker than this grand auditorium. Dreadnought is bassier and a little darker tone compared to this. Grand auditorium has brighter tone but less on bass.

    im looking to get a new guitar.... why would i get this takamine over a martin or taylor? the taylor 214 or martin d12e/sc10e? Thanks

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před 2 lety

      Hi, Anthony. The Takamine is a great guitar for the money but there are many reasons why you might get any of those other guitars. Body shape would be a big one. If you want the sound of a classic dreadnought, the D12e would make more sense. If you're primarily an electric guitar player and want an acoustic that plays like an electric, the SC10e would probably be the best choice. The Taylor 214 is a similar shape but as the price indicates, it's a step up in terms of build quality and playability. If that's the style of acoustic you're after and the budget allows, it would be worth it to get the Taylor.
      Thanks for your interest!

    Well,I’ve talked another company;and they said this guitar is not as good as I set out to get. Three piece means not real wood..just the front is solids. They even said this is laminate wood..not all wood. Guess I need to save for a while longer to get that all wood guitar.
