It is refreshing to see someone who is not a Professional reviewing a guitar. I am considering buying the same model and I don't live near a good guitar retailer so I must purchase online. I have to trust people like you to help me with my decision.
I am returning a guitar that I bought a week ago thinking it was a winner after hearing a "professional" Play it on youtube. It was a very cheap sounding guitar. (Walden G-630ce)
    Thanks again and God bless...
    Randy

Thank you so much for the feedback. I really would recommend this guitar. It's helped me to grow in confidence and I genuinely enjoy playing it. Good luck Randy.

@@brianjones-ukfactorymanage673 I ordered the guitar after watching your video. I received it today by UPS and the electronics was not working properly.. No matter what I did I couldn't get the sound to come out of my amplifier and suddenly I smelled something burning and when I took the battery out it burned my hand. it was so hot and the plastic inside the battery compartment was starting to melt. Not a not a Happy Camp now.

Interestingly… I’m also considering getting a Takamine - either the GN30 or the GD30 - as the feel of the neck is just like my strat - and the sound is very nice; I play a lot of blues and jazz. More than a bit surprised thought, by your experience with a Walden, as I have an old Walden D351 - and it’s my ‘go-to’ guitar… especially since I fitted ball-end classical strings to it. Although - every time I’ve tried to install a working pickup in it… the pickup dies; I suspect my Walden hates pickups!

I just bought myself a yamaha fgx830 c and it is a great guitar. I also have a martin d18. However, I just might have to purchase this guitar. I had a lower end takamine that wasn't nearly as good as this one is. The other sound samples I've heard on youtube sound great. Thanks for the very nice playing.

Happy Sunday Brian, you should not be so modest, you play quite well, I on the other hand can't play any musical instrument even though they attempted to teach me to play the harmonica at school ( much to the relief of Larry Adler, Steve here wont be upstaging him! ) I love music of almost all genres except Arabic & Turkish which grates on my ears ( even though I am tone deaf ). A friend of mine was good with the guitar & for a while was in a rock band, but apart from gigs in pubs & clubs they never achieved fame or fortune & by their mid to late 20's had given up on trying to make a career of it, my friend went into his fathers business & never ever played the guitar again ( as far as I know as he sadly passed away from cancer a decade ago ) Anyway Brian, don't give up the day job & toodle pip !

Were you playing with the Stones in the 60s? Yr name sound like so 😊. Takas are great guitars and I do have 1 and I very happy with mine. I like the Santa Fe model, if I can get hold of a used one cos they don't sell that anymore.

I like this model but I'm confused about the wood used for the back and sides. In all of the listings it will say sides and back are rosewood (except the center back which is definitively maple). Then somewhere else in the same listing it will specify they are black walnut. This is the case on guitar center, reverb and others.
If they are indeed rosewood then I'll order one through guitarcenter right away. Otherwise my search continues.

I know this is an older post but if anyone is looking at this guitar now, the older ones WERE rosewood & maple back and sides, and rosewood fingerboard. I believe the current version is walnut & maple back and sides with laurel fingerboard. Probably a sourcing/cost issue with the rosewood, I'd say!
