    Nice! Funny how the OEM's work so hard to engineer all the noises they can when us drivers, only want to hear the engine and the exhaust along with an occasional tire squeal :)

    Note: He had to pull the door handle again before he closed the driver's door. If you don't do that, you're just gonna bash the closed lock mechanism on the latch post in the door jamb with a *WHAaaaAAAaaNG*. If you use that trick to silence the chime without this hack, you need to undo it before closing the door.
    Personally, I want to just replace the repetitive chime that drills into your brain with an 8-bit chiptune of Toto's Africa. There's a CZcams video of someone who did that to a Volvo or a Saab, one of those Scandanavian car makes, and it just entranced me. I didn't know precisely how the chimer was located or wired into the system, so learning that it's on the back of the stock instrument cluster is great, because I also want to fabricate my own LCD instrument cluster with a Raspberry Pi or similar, so that's perfect for my purposes.

      I did a search on CZcams for "How to create a custom door chime for car" This seemed to be the best result as it provides links to Amazon where you can purchase the product. It's a plug in door chime that allows you to to use mp3 files from your computer to play as a door chime. He shows exactly how to do this modification. Amazon link is in the description. When programming the device be sure to use a computer that doesn't have USB 3.0 OR disable it in your computer BIOS as the device doesn't support USB 3.0

      @@PanzerPlatform It was kind of a blessing because I was planning on JMODing it before this happened. I’m sticking with the automatic in this. I enjoy the Canshift system. It’s being rebuilt with all performance parts, kevlar lined bands, billet drum, performance clutches and a JMOD tuff plate. So soon I’ll have something 10x better than what I originally planned and I’ll get some good numbers on the Dyno next time I go for further tweaks to my SCT custom tune

    • @PanzerPlatform
      @PanzerPlatform  Před 2 lety

      Right on MGM,
      I originally did this 3 years ago, and this was the first time I took out the cylinder to look at it.
      3 years ago I used a piece of black electrical tape.
      I noticed it left a small residue of sticky adhesive.
      I cleaned it out, and upgraded to deluxe blue painters tape that is low adhesive so I won't have residue later on.
      I don't see it becoming an issue because the "two pins" are not under any tension, or load.
      But who knows, ask me again in 3 years time. lol
