Lots of the time, if there's no buttons, it's not there. A Crown Vic with TC has a different ABS module. And in order to have adjustable pedals... The hardware has to be installed. All crown vics came with the wiring harnesses installed, but not always with the hardware to make it. Just like all police models have wires for a powered drivers seat, but not always came with a powered drivers seat.

Yep sadly I know just about everything there is to a cvpi(10+yrs). I find the vids entertaining to say the least. I have a black 03 model with a feature that I’ve yet to see on any other. I’ve checked out hundreds maybe thousands. I didn’t know it was there until months later. I won’t say what it is until Mr Random or someone else mentions it. But it does come in handy in a jam.

Most municipalities leave the siren/megaphone on and just disable it, as it’s not worth the effort to remove them. Lesser known is A LOT of them still have the strobes in the factory lights, you just need the right relay and a new switch to reactivate them.

This is the 1st video of yours that I've seen. Pretty good guys. 😎👍
One more hidden secret that I don't know if you've covered yet is that on the ex cop cars there...the wheel rims are made of thicker steel and they are a lot more heavy duty than the thinner less durable run of the mill ones. I learned this from a cop. Pretty kewl "secret" huh?!?
He said that they are made that way so that when they do a pit maneuver or have to side swipe someone, that the rims will stay functional (not bending up and getting tilt to them) and safer for the driver to continue driving whereas non cop Vic's don't have that going on unless someone slaps some of those bad boys on their car.

    1. I was wondering what that thing did when I took that panel off for my 2001. I took that panel off to run my horn stance the department disabled it. I had no idea I could just put a button to have traction control.
    2. I did know about the trunk button and if you take the door panel off there might be a wire there to hook up the trunk so then you can have two trunk release buttons. I put it on mine.
    3. For the gas release what's great about having that is when your button breaks you have a way to put gas in your Crown Vic. Mine was broken and then when I replaced it that's how I discovered the trunk wire.
    4. And I know some people have problems with their dome light coming on. From what I've looked up it's called Dark mode and you look underneath the glove box and there should be two wires disconnected I believe.

I would like to ask if anyone knows about the switch needed for to activate the ETC. I did take off that piece of panel on the dash of my 2006 and saw the car has the two elect. connectors.
But what do I do about a switch.?I tried eBay but all I found were advertisements for some adaptor thing for the switch, not the switch.
Suppose I got a toggle switch and duct-taped it on then I could make the connection there work.
But a mechanic told me not to mess around like that because it might blow the computer out.

I have an 09 and it doesn’t have most of this. 04, 05, and 06 the p71s went through a lot of small revisions and changes to be a little more dependable and Police orientated because they were on the way out as civilian cars. Once the government kept the panther platform alive it became a fleet only vehicle and that’s when the car really reflected.

Adjustable pedals, all crown Victorias have the wiring but most dont have the adjustable pedal system but its easy as just swapping in adjustable pedals in there for the traction control you need the correct steering wheel with button and have ford enable it via ford ids.

Here some of things I've found out 2005-2007 you can have keyless entry but first checking for driver door module in the driver door, all you need to do is add the antenna grabbing one out of an 08+ and activate it on forscan
Forscan allows you to turn off dark mode, as well as add keyless entry. For the buttons and the forscan software it cames out to under 30 for keyless entry
Second in some crown victoria if you want to add stuff theres a second power source on the passenger side trunk remove the felt.
Remove taillights to sometimes find unremoved strobe bulbs
Sometimes under the hood you will find disconnected headlight flashers
Some crown victoria have switches under the dash to disable brake lights.

I believe those seat pockets were only made in LX model seats... Christ, people interchange seats in Vics all the time. EVERY Crown Vic at Pick N Pull I go to has different seats than the originals.

That looks like a PA Loud Speaker behind the grill.

    • @ruizhou9612
      @ruizhou9612 Před 2 lety

Federal Smart Siren SM control head has that set to broadcast your radio or use as a PA. You had to have the Amplifier section send the signal back to the loud speaker and a voltage of 24 volts to control it. The system is usually in a roll shelf in the trunk that pulls out that has the amplifier, power booster, some fuse blocks and this runs back to the control head mounted in the center console which controls lighting, sirens and is programmable.

Not all crownvic police have those pockets on the seats. I own a 2011 and those things he mention is not on my car. All those things he said he probably installed after market. The siren he said probably fid come with the car cause mine came with the blue lights in the head lights and siren.

Because if they dont have the button most of then they dont have adding the button will do nothing, if it didnt come with it you will need to add tc abs module master cylinder and program it

Most of this doesn't need explaining. Not because everyone knows this stuff already, but because it's in the owner's manual. The "deleted features" bit is literally common with all vehicles. ALL VEHICLES.
