First thing I thought when I unboxed mine and put it in the air was--now you may not want to say it, but I will--WOW!!! It is super quiet and smooth. I am quite impressed and glad I plunked down my money for it. The RC screen is amazing! Thanks for the video, Chris.

It works very well and normally I don’t care for OA but this one has been fun to put through it’s paces in the trees etc.

Agree 100%, Chris. She flies beautifully and also a fan of the controller. Opinion might change in time but it's so nice to not have to connect a phone, boot up app, etc.
And she is really quiet. Possibly moreso than the Anafi (RIP).
Super quiet and so nice to just turn on and connect.

That’s just what I’m doing in the garden while testing this new craft and its features. It’s certainly not cheap but as you say Chris it’s very stable and competent and so quiet. Looking forward to your test flight across the lake/reservoir soon 😊👍
I’m using it in the wide open country farm lands of Ohio but do have a long range flight coming up. 👍🏻

Nice demonstration Chris. Loved the Marcus Crawford comment. As of yesterday, he has not posted a Mini 3 video... Got mine setup today but a little windy and hot here to fly. Hopefully tomorrow.
Funny thing is it will be an exact repeat of everything he does except just a different drone. That’s his style and it works for him. 👍🏻

I only flew mine once, I haven't received my fly more yet and I don't have filters so I just did one test flight on a nice calm morning when the temperatures were in the upper 60's. I charged everything, did all the updates, I did the calibrations including, compass, imu then auto gimbal calibration. I then let everything cool then charged the quad battery and transmitter to capacity. I liked it, very stable and quiet. I hope there is a future update to add use of the RC Pro, I can barely see the RC Pro so I doubt I will be able to see the screen on the Mini 3 controller on a bright day, also the RC pro has a fan. The horizon is a tad off (seems common for the horizon to be low on the left side) but that can be manually adjusted (even in flight) so it's not really an issue.
FYI: The charging brick that came with the Nano Plus works well with the Mini 3 controller, yea!!!!!!!!!

im jealous,ordered mine may 16 and still waiting but i ordered without a transmitter and regret that i didn't order it with the new rc but went back a week ago and ordred the fly more combo also.can't wait to get it

I would definitely advise getting a tempered glass screen protector and then sticking on top of it an anti-glare film screensaver
I have one but not anti glare. They effect my camera setup too much. On the negative side that is.
Look at you just be a fan boy 🤣. I absolutely love the thing as well I call my mini air 2s I can’t believe you’re quiet it is I can’t believe how quick the satellites are of gotta wait ages it seems with the Air 2s well not that long but the mini three is definitely quicker. Yep I love it.

Looks pretty solid but still odd some reporting signal issues. I almost purchased it this weekend but realized it would have been an irrational purchase since I have the new Autels to enjoy. I will likely wait 6-8 months after the hype and pick up a used kit or even grab a kit that some noob crashed and fix it up. I also depend on 3rd party apps that use the SDK so best to wait till that is updated anyway.
Great video QC Guy! I was hoping to be able to go for the Autel Nano+ but I think they still have issues that aren't resolved. I'm not a fan of DJI's Geofencing, but I may have no choice but to put up with it. Do you have a video that fully explains how Geofencing works? Thanks!

I don’t have such a video but it’s pretty simple because the app tells you and there’s other apps you can use to check the no fly zones in your area.
Search all you need to know about drone no fly zones on CZcams and you should find some good sources.
Stay away from Autel. If you have any problems they have become very sketchy and dirty. You won’t get help and support.
People like to watch the drone fly instead of seeing it through drone's camera perspective. That Dronie was sublime.😂 Do the navigation lights turn off when recording?

I chose this type of video just because normally I don’t do these type of videos. I like to watch certain channels do it and see what kind of Pilot they are especially when the quad is facing them. lol
Nice stable flying drone. The bypass feature seems to work very well but I’d like seeing it fly around rather than over you. Nit pickin’ there. The hand launch and catches were helpful, and not just for the Mini 3. For this old man I’ll learn to let it sit down on my palm. And doing a reverse drone better than Marcus isn’t something to brag about. LOL The image on the controller looks good, but I still like the added real estate I get with my iPad. That gimbal action was made for flying under bridges! When you fly that sweetie in close, does she bat her eyelashes at you Chris?

I think it chooses the path of least resistance because it goes around trees well when under them.
Its almost essential with this drone to hand launch and catch because the ground surface needs to be so level for a clean takeoff.
It’s something I’ve always done so I don’t mind but yes you need a little better landing zone for this little one.
Yes it works better now after updates than it did when Europe got it on the 17th LOL
Thats right Chris they did take their time puting it out there but i always said from the beginning thats perfectly fine , its better they get it right the first time (not like the Autel mini +) im planning on getting the Mini 3 for sure but my only concern as many said mostly from the UK is the range on it being poor, im from Canada so im hoping i wont have that issue.
Canadians seem to be having issues as well. I’m going to do a intro segment about that in my long range video coming up.

I plan to do some but Autel as a company doesn’t deserve anything good I may say about that quad now.
I'm on the fence right now. I like the camera on the Autel which as a camera drone is very important. The speed issue I can stand. Not sure about the wind problem though. So I'm waiting for the long run and wind test from you.

I had it sat on the table while I was adjusting all my settings through the app for speeds and smooth listen et cetera and I don’t know how long I’ve been sat there for but it suddenly came up with a warning on the screen saying that it had been standing still for too long and it was going to automatically shut down so it could cool off and then it turned itself off
It’s good that it has that built in. Wish a cooling fan would have been doable for it though.

Great to hear that the controller screen doesn't dim, but what I'd really like to know is how well it copes with consecutive flights, say with three batteries. I've found my iPhone to be virtually useless in that regard, since the GPS chip causes temperature to keep rising, and I simply can't fly three batteries in hot weather - the phone will actually go into high temperature protection mode. My Galaxy S8 is not much better, with the screen going almost impossibly dim in the middle of the third flight. I'd love to hear the smart controller or this Mini3 one is immune to those problems.
It’s been fine flying multiple batteries in the heat. We will be in the 90’s this week so that’s a good additional test.
Flying the mini three has been cancelled for a couple of days all I’ve done is fly a few feet off the ground just to make sure everything is alright but we’ve got like 20 mile an hour winds with 40 to 45 mile an hour gusts for the next couple of days

Yeah it’s not been the typical DJI release. People normally don’t wait for their drones.

I don't know why it fascinates me so much, but it seems like everyone tried to clone the DJI sub 250s and improve on them. Then DJI comes out like.... "well party's over we made a somewhat ugly but functionally superior product. Copy that one now!"

I just read the biggest wish of an Autel fan. It’s to see fail the Mini 3. The same person was blaming me because I was to citical against Nano+ in particular because of wind resistance. They told me to just keep patient, Autel will fix it with a fw update. They did it in the meantime. I really wanted to see in the Nano+ a true competitor. I never would wish them to fail but DJI, considering the entire product including some fails, I would say surpassed Autel quite clear. Seems still to be a copy of DJI....
I agree with you mostly and am glad the mini 3 is doing well after that mess with the Nano plus but wish it was the other way around in all honesty.

Much better in my opinion but camera is a toss up. I’m not picky on camera quality as long as it’s good and both are.
I think the controller would benefit having a anti glare screen protector and it would be a lot better in direct sunlight.
I agree whole-heartedly. Reflections are the main issue with LCD screens outdoors. I have some arriving next week - mat (matte or matt depending on your country) and made for the iPhone 13 plus. Just cut them to size :-)

I like the anti glare screen protectors but they effect my camera setup too much. It’s been good so far but bright sun definitely doesn’t play well with this screen.

Don't like that hand launch. Mini 2 hand launch, spin up rotors stationairy, give it a little upwards movement and it starts hovering at the same place. Hand launch this one and it starts flying towards the ceiling (or tree branches above you) imediatly.
Yeah I don’t see that happening but I suppose it might if I’m under a tree or in the house hand launching which I would not do or teach someone to do.
I hand launch and catch everything I own.
