    Thank you so much for your in depth and thorough videos! You don't know how many times you've made my DIY in the garage with the Audi an easier and quicker process. This is my one and only go to CZcams channel (or any other interweb source) for working with Audis. It's always such a fine pleasure and great source of education to watch any of your how to videos. Keep up your hard work. Also, do you sell any merchandise? I would love to get my hands on some Total Technik gear!
    Cheers

      Hey there - why thank you so much! We really appreciate your kind words, so thank you for taking the time :-)
      We have loads more content yet to come, we've just started coverage for the A6/S6/RS6 (C5) and we're already looking at additional Audi models that we can cover for the future as well. So definitely a lot more to come as long as we continue to get the support from guys such as yourself!
      We do not have any merchanise as of yet, but hopefully this is something we can look at for next year. We've already been asked for T-Shirts quite a few times and people seem to like our logo :-)
      To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there's a few things you can do:

      2) Please give our video's the Thumbs Up on CZcams.
      3) Please help spread the word, the more people who know about us the better!
      Thank you again!

      Hopefully we can cover that model in the not-too-distant future!

    • @grindersandgears3445
      @grindersandgears3445 Před 3 lety

      It's primarily a safety nanny so you don't run somebody over cranking it in gear. It is also used for cruise control and idle speed.

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 4 lety +1

      Well in theory - possibly yes. This switch is simply telling the system when the pedal is physically engaged (travel). If the switch is bugging out then this could cause these kinds of issues if it's not 'releasing' out of full travel (sticky switch). The best bet is to buy a used one cheaply on eBay and give it a try. Should not cost much, and a nice easy job to change it over. You can buy them for just a few pounds used. Best of luck!

      @@TotalTechnik I disconnected the connector and the switch and it drives like a different car. Revs responsively in neutral and RPMs drop fast when you depress the clutch while changing gear. Soon as i plug the connector back in the revs start hanging more. I'm assuming thats a faulty switch?

    Is it the cause of making cruise control to fail?

  • @dzcars9434
    @dzcars9434 Před 2 lety

    i baught new Switch Much better. With the clutch disengaged, the engine revs QUICKLY. Rev-match downshifting is a breeze now, whereas before it would take a good second for the engine to rev. In addition, the engagement is much more precise and takes much less throttle - where before the car would bog, now it jumps forward with equivalent throttle pressure.

    I hate to have to push in my clutch to start the car, is there a way that I can bypass this sensor?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, you can bypass it and it is fairly common. That said, if you've ever parked in gear to ensure no backwards roll, and then got back into the car and forgot that you left it in gear, tried to start and lunged forward 6 inches and taken a gouge out of your front bumper on a brick wall then you'd probably leave it as-is. Can't think of anyone who's done that, lol!!
