    Thank you
    Hi
I got this car, because the clutch was not working...
What initially has been diagnosed as the slave cylinder, soon revealed to be something else... (At least to start with...)
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.
Although driveable, later I found that this car DM (Dual Mass) flywheel, was on its way out... this work was then performed at another place, as it is easier to do it on an elevator, due to having to remove the gearbox etc...
    Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions or comments put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!

Have exactly the same issue in a vw Touran.
    Quoted £490 to fix.
I’m two hours I’ve got everything I clipped and I’m waiting for the spare part.
I know if I went to a garage, I wouldn’t be quoted that but I think every man should be able to service and do basic repairs on a vehicle they own.

The brake fluid level does not go low in these vehicles because the feeder pipe for the clutch system is very high on the brake fluid reservoir. Even if there is a leak on the clutch system the fluid in the reservoir reduces up to the point of the feeder pipe.

i had the same problem however my master drew air . I did the job removal from engine bay. The pipe assembly needed to be unhinged to get it out of the cilinder. The 2 halfmoon plastic tab are a nightmare to reinstall while in the car . bleeding air on the system slave is also extreem difficult as trapped air in slave wont just come out. I prefill slaves on clutch job due to this.

Hi Luis, clearly the new Sachs m-cyl is modified with the flutes on the side of the pushrod as I know these to be troublesome, but plastic parts eh! years ago that would have been steel & never would have broken! Inbuilt obsolescence these days is rife. Do observe one thing though, the color of the brake fluid was black, usually indicative of rubber seal failure somewhere in the system may be the concentric slave cylinder seals are starting to fail, cover your backside man, it may fail in short order! Tell the customer of their discolored fluid & what it may mean. Keith

All too common with all dual mass flywheels also bloody expensive! I'll text you soon Luis. Keith

I have an Audi A3 8P (2007) i had an issue like this.
My master clutch cylinder broke in the same way as in the video. The reason for why it snapped is because of it suddenly having a whole lot of pressure in the clutch pedal and the plastic rod just couldn't take it.
I got the master cylinder replaced and all was fine. But after around 60 days I began having problems shifting again. The clutchpedal sometimes went back slowly instead of as it normally should when let go.
I had the brake fluid replaced which is probably the reason for it holding up a bit longer than it should've.
What I believe is the issue for my case is that the slave clutch cylinder may be leaking or maybe it gathers air. I'm not a mechanic, so I am simply speculating.
What do you guys think it may be? The master cylinder did break from the begining, but it doesn't seem to be the cause of the issue.

@@eugenechelseafc89 It is an expensive repair as the slave cylinder is hard to get to. The part is pretty cheap but the work will be what is expensive
I live in Sweden and I went to a smaller business to get it fixed. This separately would have costed a lot less than £3000. In my case I had a total that was around £3000 including some other repairs.
I recommend you to ask a mechanic for an estimate before start. I also recommend you to let them take a look around if they find anything else that may be loose or worn. In my case they found that my flywheel and timing chain were a bit loose, I also had a crack in my valve cover. They also noticed that my drive belt was damaged.
I got all these parts changed for around £3000.
With these parts changed I also got rid of some noise that I had before. Ran smoothly after this.

@@milani5300 Thanks for the reply. I've just had my Audi A3 16reg fixed after encountering the issue on Saturday. Car brokedown at my house and I had to get the breakdown guys to tow the car to the garage where they specialise in clutch repairs. It turns out it was the slave cylinder that was leaking. The dual mass flywheel also got replaced, as it was on its way out, along with the slave cylinder and other parts. The whole job cost £1370. I'm gutted that I had to spend that amount out of the blue but at the same time I'm glad the nightmare's over.

Audi main dealers are total bandits. My a4 went in for a cam belt and was later informed the oil seals needed replacing on the camshafts and the camshafts had to be removed to do this at a cost of an extra £400 . My Audi had only 40k on the clock so I believe it was all lies. Never went back again .

Hi Luis, I admire your channel, but... as soon as someone starts broadcasting his work, he should stop doing it 'garage' way - showing how you mess around with car fluids, in this case dripping breake fluid all over your driveway, is not a good example to follow. The rest is top performance as usually. Peace! 😜
