- Even in 2017, the bass pedal library was large, and growing every week. I take a look at all the bass pedals in my collection at the time, and give a few examples of signal chains, synth bass sounds, filtering, and octavers.

I can randomly pick a video of yours...and consistently receive your...obsession with, devotion to, love of, and enthusiasm and excitement about music. Very Inspiring :) Wishing you the best! Thank you.
Janek, I gotta tell you man: you have made me love playing synth-sounding bass on bass guitar. Seriously. I am a bassist and a synth bassist, but that demo of all of those pedals just really made me enjoy synth-style bass guitar for the first time. Thank you for that. Oh, and now I know that I really want a big muff!
Awesome content! Thank you so much for your VLOG I have been watching since day one it's an inspiration for music and life. I have become so much more productive! Just got my hands on a nova repeater...I understand why you love it!
Really enjoyed this one man, thank you!
As a bass player just starting to get interested in pedals, this was an awesome video! Thank you Janek for sharing
A really great vlog Janek. So cool that you give us a peak in your library of amazing pedals. Especially when you give a short demo of it. I was wondering which song you edit under this vlog? What a groovy bassline that is....
I really hope that you give us more demo's of your pedals in upcoming vlogs ...
Greetings
Alwin
Interesting man! Thanks for sharing this info! Eye opener to my ambitions to upgrade my sound again...
So yes lol this might sound awkward but hopefully you understand it the right way! I LOVE YOUR MOM! I can tell with the story you told about your 2 first pedals that she must be amazing, oh and yes I have an amazing mom too! :)
Awesome video Janek! :) It would be great a video on your bass guitar arsenal. cheers
Good afternoon Janek. I love watching your vlog first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee before I go to work. It would be just as great to have one after work. Ever consider a morning and afternoon vlog? I know just getting greedy but I really enjoy them. Thanks
I loved the pause as you got through all the OC-2's haha
Great vlog!
It's because of you, Janek, I have a Nova Repeater. Never regretted it. Love this pedal.
Joël Visser Bought it 2 weeks ago, and it was because of him too haha
Yeah Janek! That's great man.
Lovely thanks for this!
crazy dope pedals collection!!!
about the OC-2 (which was already all over the place by the late 80s, at least in France, thanks to some guy named Pino Palladino ;) i was already using the "Jojo Mayer setting" in the early 90s, just found it by twerking the knobs and thinking "and what if i don't put any direct signal at all? wow! sounds dope!!!"
thanks for the vlogs Janek, tons of very useful infos in there plus it's fun to watch, peace
know that's right just pick what you feel like and play, awesome!
HOLY COW 20:56 i'm in love in this tone!!!
PS i wanted to ask you about all this crazy synth sounds... and wow i got all answers
No Akai 'Deep Impact' or Mutron III?... Missing out Janek ;)
this is a dream come true
The maestro!!!! Man I had the fuzz and the phaser!! Fo0t controlled speed and depth whuutttt!!!!
Janek, do you find yourself using different octave pedals whether you are playing active or passive pickups? Curious as I may be heading down the active bass road soon and curious as to how active pickups may change my pedal selection. Loving the vlog!
Hey Janek, you are so inspiring! Here's my question: how do you approach locking in with the rhythm section on an electronic gig, especially with the various rhythmic effects (delays, reverbs, looping)? More generally, do you have specific rhythmic concepts with electronic music? I see you setting delays to different rhythms, so that's helpful but I am curious about the interplay in that context. Best!
Hey Janek - Just curious if you use the effects loop on your Aguilar when you are using pedals, or if the pedals are inline with the bass input? Thanks!
Best video Ever.
I like your world dude, actually the footage with Jojo made me a little envying :) in the good sense :) cheers
awesome soundtrack today!
Ain't it sweet..;-))
Is the min Tc electronic flashback delay as good as nova delay?
I wanna get that beautiful sound from Nova without spending too much
How do you think that Frantabit sound on a horn. Aside from getting a gate I haven't been able to find a good distortion that doesn't freak everything out. But bit crushing could work, no?
Can you elaborate on your pedal storage there on the wall? Just a shelf? is there something behind the pedals? etc.
is the bass shifter made anymore??thanks!
Liked before seeing it I've been dying to see this
Still need the new MEATBOX it's so much better
Janek, whats the tune in the background? Really cool!
I'm trying my best to recreate the "Babe Elephant Sound" with the Tc Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb, the Tc Electronic SubNUp and an Electro Harmonix Bassblogger distortion/fuzz pedal. I'm really inspired by you and your sound. - I'm actually looking for that old Tc delay just because of it. Keep making cool music man. Cheers!
Can someone share the name of the opening and closing tunes? Sounds super cool. Awesome video 🔥
excellent.
Janek what do you usually use the CP 251 for?
I do love my WMD Super Fatman 11:58
I own a Maestro Phaser that is a dead ringer for that Fuzz pedal. Paid $60 for it. Best phaser I ever heard for bass.
do you have any darkglass pedals and if so which one do you have?
Impressive... Thanks!!!...
💪👍
Cool
Are you powering your oc2 at 9 or 12 volts?
love this Jojo settings ;)
holy crap that pedal edit must have taken forever lol looked great tho
What's the bass effect at the beginning ? Sounds pretty cool !
What do you use for pedal board cables? Do you have any problems with tone suck? Taking any tone away from that gorgeous Fodera of yours would be a felony.
Hi dear friend...I have recently discovered your channel and I don't know why but I enjoy watching it :) I have an request so please reply if it's possible for you to make, and that is: I'm about to buy Sire Marcus Miller v7 bass. I have been playing guitar for quite long but I need a bass that I can record some demo bass lines and I really dig this bass from the reviews and from what I have read and heard so far. So my question and request is: Can you find and demo one of them? Sire Marcus Miller the Ash version 4 strings bass. Thanks
How many octave pedals by Boss? :O :D
moved over to midi, sold all my effects , saving up for a industrial radio midi bass ,,midi is the way to go if you into effecting the bass....
Tip for bassists in need of some 'flange' sans spreading the usual low end sea sickness:
Boss Hi-Band flanger
(Never quite made it as a guitarist's pedal; faulty marketing, because it's actually a bass pedal, like the Boss OC2, the DOD Meatbox and the DOD Fet Preamp, ha!)
The Edge watching this video...shaking his head while laughing and says..."amateur collection"
I can't understand why you are watching this guy who shows how much he expends in pedals
do a video on your amps and cabs
no robotalk?
"they don't make them anymore... so i got 4 "
I recommend to you a great company that makes incredible pedals. Chase Bliss. I love the Chase Bliss Automatone MKii. Check it out!!!! Sounds incredible on the bass. Looking to acquire the Chase Bliss CXM Automatone pedal too.
I wonder how big it is now
We have the same socks....!
Is it possible to ske the baby elephant pund with a ps-6?
Make*
How many OC2's do you have? lol
I'm not quite sure twenty OC-2 are enough.
Janek's Nova Repeaters are Casey Neistat's Boosted Board.
Foster's Lab or his oc2s
10 oc2 and 3 old meatbox. i think he likes subs.
Awesome Vlog! Just Subscribed would love to connect.
Why the hell do you own 20 OC2's??? :-p
behringer delay XD
Here's that NAMM video with Jojo if anyone else is interested.
czcams.com/video/Ma04Nady1nk/video.html
Holy crap that's a SHITLOAD of pedals!!!! :O and a load of money spent!!
couldnt take the eyes of the cord going under your strings.. argh
HOF or Hall of Fame? I will soon make the choice.
Mini or regular? In that case I would say that the mini requires far more programing since there's only one knob. So unless you find one setting that you're happy with, and only want to adjust the amount of reverb, get the big one
HOF - the smaller one. But good point. I do however plan on using it for soloing mostly, and I'm sure I can find a toneprint I like - perhaps Janek's will do the trick ;)
That's why I can't buy an OC-2 on ebay!
Dr. Barry BassBox I had one and stupidly sold it. Need to get another one asap.
sell me one of your OC-2's....!! hahaha PLEASE....!!! ♪♫ 😊 ♪♫
Around 3:26 sounds like “really didn’t have much in my ass hole... 😂🤷🏽♂️
Slap bass...slap head..?
It's super gloomy
bad placement of the camera. the wide lens (or something) makes me recoil every time you lunge your hand with a pedal at the camera as if i'm about to get punched in the face
I see why you need therapy.
No you have 20 Boss OC-2 because you have a problem.
YOu know it, pls get some help.
Let the other humans enjoy those.
