I have found Benidorm relatively safe, I have a wallet that has a chain attached to belt loop to avoid pick pocket. We normally stay at old town end so when walking back at night from the strip, try to stick to well light & busy areas. With the Pea men we found they were out in force when the police had a big event on (eg. costa blanca cup youth football) and their attention was on this, but I normally try to spot the pea games look outs and planted players.....I am amazed that people still get taken in with this as it has been around benidorm for years....good informative video..👍

My mate got robbed whilst there a couple of years ago. He did what we always agree on not to do, walk back to the hotel by himself. Three lads, one came from behind and two from the front. He did the right thing and just handed what little money and phone over. We as a group normally stick together and never walk around alone. I might stick a mouse trap in my pocket for a laugh!

Thanks Ana for all your info it's getting bag again with robberies. A lot of years up in la marina when outside there was an ATM my husband parked car on other side of road and i crossed to cash machine as I was getting my money i noticed a man and a woman with a baby in a pram as I put my money away the man came on my path and tried to kick my leg from the inside to make me drop my money so he could give to her and she would run loff but he never got me as my husband was watching and was heading to me he did not speak English but he was saying things in aggressive manner we thought Romanian. I suppose it must be the cost of living crisis that's made it worce thanks Ana for your invaluable information to help people I thought the Airlines should announce it to people about the scams thanks again

Watch out for the young African women wanting to give any middle aged man whose had a bit too much to drink a so called friendly hug! They pick your pocket and run off. It's a sport to them on the front at night. Just keep your wits about you.
I don't know why Spain says it has little crime. Sorry to tell you this is crime. If you loose your pass port your screwed, loose credit cards screwed again. I you get knocked over you could break a bone or worse yet a concussion. So have a nice trip in Spain where there is such low crime except what she is talking about.

There are queues because it's quite busy in August, it also depends on the time of flight

Check official crime rate in Spain for 2022, it's less than in UK, Germany, Greece, Portugal and A LOT of other countries
