It is disgraceful if the staff/management at Sol Pelicanos tried to persuade it's guests not to involve the Police following the theft. It will be a requirement of ANY travel insurance policy that should something like this happen the Police MUST be informed and a written report obtained.... otherwise the insurer would have the right to void the policy and not make any payment for loss of money/passport/personal belongings etc.

The family had been on half board, and the hotel offered to upgrade them to all-inclusive for the last few days of their holiday, for €14 each, per day. When Michelle informed them that she could probably afford to upgrade just one of the kids at a push, the hotel allegedly asked her which child she wanted to choose.
“It was the hotel’s attitude that got us the most. No compassion, no help, and they didn’t want us reporting it at first, we were the ones who called the police first”
Yes,I've read local newspapers. police officers even have footage of the broken door, and some more photos of it, not the first time it happens either, if id have smth like this happen, i would move to a different hotel after talking with my agency, they usually offer an alternative🤔

I think you were right Anna to bring these thefts to our attention. Better not bring any expensive belongings with us on holiday.
Well done Ana, it takes a brave person to disclose situations like what happened at Hotel Sol Pelicanos. Hopefully people will not be put off coming to Benidorm because it's a very nice place and as you said also has some great hotels.
Years ago while on a lads holiday we booked into some flats. Then we all went out 12 of us and when we returned every safe had been forced, and all money had been stolen. I still think the hotel management were in on it!

I agree about Barcelona. I used to like Sitges, which is a beautiful town not far from Barcelona, but it started to feel very unsafe at night. I've heard of some very violent robberies and it's become the norm. Lets hope Benidorm never gets that bad.
Hey Ana, great vlog. Very informative about the thieving that is not only happening in Benidorm but across various resorts. Sad to hear that the Sol Pelicanos Hotel were more concerned about their reputation after than their poor guests that were robbed. Hope they fix this attitude.

Nothing has changed at the Sol Pelicanos then, we stayed there 15 years ago and a couple had things stolen from their room while they were at breakfast just before they were going home and the hotel management did nothing about it.

Many thanks Ana, another great vlog, its good to know what's going on, we just came back yesterday after a week in the Port Hotel, the hotel was great and the weather was probably the hottest we ever experienced 39 degrees centigrade, we had some rain at home so I've been enjoying it ,yes its strange I know!!

Thanks Ana, for naming & shaming this hotel. Customers work very hard to get their holidays with there HARD earned cash £€. Shocking that the management didn’t want police involved, as to cover up the bad publicity they will receive. I WILL MAKE SURE I NEVER EVER VISIT THIS HOTEL ON MY NEXT VISIT TO BENIDORM. Keep up the great work x

Hotels in Spain have a safe in every room to stop you being robbed by their OWN staff but discourage their use by charging you up to ten euros/week for a key.
So whichever way you go, you're being robbed. Disgusting.
Some people were robbed from the SAFE..
I'm in a Hotel in Benidorm right now. Its one of the ones Jet2 use which is right in the main party area so it obviously Ambassador or Helios or Riviera or Rosamar or Presidente or Orange or Flash etc etc .
My point is none of these Hotels have any meaningful security at the front door and reception area especially at night . The very thinly spread night staff just can't tell who is a resident. It's exactly the same during the day.
The only way around is is every guest is given a pass which has to be presented before you can enter the Hotel. The problem is thats impossible because the bars and tge stage shows are open to the general public not just the guests.
I was there last month and woke up in the morning with my door still open but I put it down to not shutting it properly interesting

Because when I film with front camera it is mirrored image, I'll try to switch it back to normal

I stopped there in 2009 and 2015 the first time was good then it changed when they made it all-inclusive, security guard outside the bar ect been going downhill ever since Ana.

Hi Ana, please can you do a show on the various bus & tram cards available to holiday visitors during there stays in the Alicante region, its a bit confusing - for example, Can I buy a combined bus & tram card to use on all buses from Alicante to Denia? or to use in Torrevieja region? Where I can i buy these cards at the TAM office or Luceros tram station?

Hi Ana you are looking very wonderful and once again giving us this information on this hotel for perpertrators to get into room and open safe means its a inside job and at the reception desk Ive seen this before in tunisia its a card key and the override code for safe to open just saying peace from spain
Very surprised the hotel does not have cameras on the corridors of every floor like other hotels it's not like someone carrying a strong box is not noticeable maybe the hotel knows who's doing it

Dynastic has very good security now, closed access with card/bracelet to the hotel, so no people from the street can come in 😊

Bstads got €550 from me the first night I was there. I was attacked with a knee injury while walking up the yellow brick road near RIO Park hotel. I was dropped by the cab at the bottom of the road as he said he could not go down that route??? He telephoned as I got out of the vehicle??? Very skinny Moroccan with an accomplice and girlfriend. Reported to the hotel and policia but nothing.

Should be staying at the Rosamar in October but it will be closed for more refurbishment so tui have moved me to sol pelicans, I am now very worried about the situation 😢
You can always ask for another destination to tui, by explaining the situation, I'm sure they know about it already... you can still go, however don't bring any valuable belongings just in case, or ask reception to store it for you
@@BenidormbyAna thankyou anna the only hotels they have left for that date are in the old town or out at the flamingo oasis, which is a little to far . I have 15 relatives coming at the same time with jet 2 staying at the Venusso I need to be as near to them as possible, it might be an option to leave my passport and cash in their safe deposit.🙃🙃
Loved Sol pelicanos, stayed twice although anybody can walk in off the street as reception cant keep track of who is a guest or visitor even late at night when reception is quieter...you can just stagger in ( Sol need a better door security/ ID bracelet) on entry. I witnessed an elderly couple walking back from a bar and 2 shits befriended them pretending to be drunk jumping about, 1 hooked his foot into the old man and jumped about while turning him, the other guy was holding the wife also turning and laughing...all very fast making sure the old boy fell back the wife was pulled down with him..and the shits took off..quick as a flash, police were called....Sol pel did not want the publicity even tho the couple were guests and very distressed.

Your suitcase could go missing the second you are dropped of at the SP. Has happened many times leaving holiday makers without a stitch of clothing. Would never use the hole again.

It depends on you, If you had a good deal and can't change it, go, but ask them to store your passport, money, etc. in the reception safety deposit box, they should do so if they want to preserve their already broken reputation
@@BenidormbyAna it is a massive shame Ana, we cannot get that horrible thought that poor family went through, and Benidorm is for fun, relaxing and appreciating the surrounding areas that are there to visit and keep in one's memory bank. So on that note we are trying get the flash/ambassador or Don Pancho as an unbelievable treat to ourselves, we'll find out next Tuesday afternoon at the travel agency, let you know because NOTHING will spoil our holiday to beautiful Benidorm, ever !!! The vast majority of hotels are 100% safe, as well as the city, I've never ever had any issues during 10 years I've been living here, even filming at night & alone
