Wes Barker is a magician and comedian doing funny tricks, and telling great stories. Watch here for hilarious magic, stunts, and pranks. I am the funniest magician that is also a stand-up comic, or maybe I'm the comic who is best at magic. Either way you get the idea. I tour all over doing colleges, comedy clubs, and corporate events. Catch the adventures and tricks right here. With this magician / comedian based out of Vancouver and Toronto, Canada. I make funny stuff. That’s my only rule. Everything has to be funny, from street magic to stage illusions, as long as there is a joke to be made. I do magic tricks, sketches, stand-up comedy, card tricks, mind reading, and tricks with naked people. I’ve been on America’s Got Talent, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, MTV Greatest Party Stories Ever, and Wizard Wars. You can find me pulling pranks on friends, gags on strangers, or just general sleight of hand, magic, illusions, and the occasional bar bet. - Zábava
Thanks for having me in my office

You're welcome 😂
How do you know so much about magic in movie's?
Lmao
😂😂
The real crime is that the sequel to now you see me is not called now you don't.
God, they should have! Damn it
Opportunity missed

Funny. I have been saying the same for years.
That second movie wasn't as good anyway
The whole cast of Now You Can See Me had to learn magic tricks in order for it to look and feel a little bit more real, than just Hollywood magic.
yep! like the card thrower guy actually learnt how to throw cards and stuff , pretty cool ig
They didnt have to learn to be smug. That came naturally.
@@imnotbushra that's cool. His name is Dave franco btw
And it didn’t look or feel real at all. Most of it was CGI either way.
@@unknown3158 I know most of it was CGI, they literally said that in the video. But they also said that movies should mix CGI and real ticks so that way it looks cool and feels “real”
I very badly want to see Wes and Chris's friends play a poker night where they can use any sleight of hand they want unless they're caught. MAGICIAN POKER NIIIIIGHT!!
If they guess the slight wrong then there's a penalty too
There is an older video somewhere on youtube where they do this as a prank video. (Not wes and chris) Probably staged but supposidly the dealers were being pranked and all the magicians end up with variations of royal flushes and 4 of a kind.
New version of "you flash, you loose"!
@@luka6257 yesss exactly!! Let's bug them to do it! Come on guysss!! Hahaha comment it on other videos
That sounds like a good movie concept

Taa daa!
tom cruise does all his own stunts.... and magic apparently.
Just lime Jackie Chan
He writes his own movie, does his own stunts, does his own magic wouldn't be surprised if he makes a movie where he does everything from acting to shooting it 😂

Man I love Now You See Me and the sequel. When I first saw the movies I didn't really notice but the fact that the actors actually learned the tricks made it so much more authentic
“Now you see me” is one of my favourite movie
Me as well
It is a shit movie tbh. The tricks they pull out is real magic, it should be one of dc movies. Where is he realism?
Yes me too
@@SteveFox369 it’s just a fun movie to turn your brain off to lol
@@landoncbradford Facts. It's an absolutely ridiculous movie, but there's something strangely compelling about it's ludicrous attitude.
It's the Pacific Rim of heist movies.
I'm actually surprised you guys missed it, but at 8:10 for the Now You See Me 2 clip, you can see Woody Harrelson fake a cough, pick something up with his lip which is presumably a suction cup, magnet, or adhesive patch attached to the string, and plant it on the card. You can see the black mark appear a bit away from the index label of the card.
It's the ace of spades, so you know that there should be no other marking on the card except for the spade design and the two index labels on the corners.
Give it another look-see and you'll notice it now. I'm sure that the string trick probably still couldn't work, even in a straight line like the arms would present. The biggest problem, in my opinion, is whether the string would be able to remain stuck to the card under that level of pulling force. Anywayyy, great video guys. Loved it.
It hurt me when they missed that, but Woody Harrelson had his sleight of hand down. Fooled even them at first glance. Lol
In case you're curious it's magic wax.
Real stuff, and pretty awesome stuff to play with a dirt cheap. It's sticky wax that leaves no residue and is typically clear or "skin tone" to blend in with stuff. It's for sticking cards together, attaching magic thread, and that kinda stuff.
The only other reason I would think it wouldn’t work is that he would have had to have that string set up in that way ahead of time to even use it. Maybe he did but to have string that tight in that manner just waiting to be used doesn’t seem very plausible. Not impossible I guess.
@@ForestSen if u look well that black dot thingy was like a cuff links on his shirt it was already attached on sth
The setup is possible, the execution is far-fetched, to say the least.
The card would have to be pulled perfectly into his caff, past Woody's shoulder blades, and through both his sleeves without getting twisted or hung up on any folds of material, seams, body parts or anything else while only attached at 1 spot with an adhesive that comes off fairly easy; all the while being smooth and fast enough to whip over to Jesse's hand so it can be caught between his fingers...
It's a mouthful I know... sorry
What I personally really like about the Now You See Me 2 one is the way the woman (can’t remember the name) uses social norms and social rules. The way she reacts to the guard trying to check her bra is a really good way of getting the guards to back off a bit and the way she passes the card to the guard is easily brushed off as “she’s still mad about the bra thing”. It’s really well done; enforce a boundary, thus making the guard awkward, then doing the “eyes up here” to follow up with that, implying her anger and also making her behaviour here have a clear pattern, and ending with the “how do you like it” which is, as I mentioned, easily brushed off and a continuation of the eyes part. It’s an amazing use of gender norms and femininity.
And its even more well done as the guards are of different culture, so they wouldnt know wether she's acting suspicious, or if she's gender roling from her own culture
"what happen to abra kadabra?"
Will: no no, this is black magic
That got me so hard XD

Lol I like how they just appreciate the magic and say what's possible or not and not go in depth explaining the magicians tricks in this day and age everyone ruins magic by spoiling the secrets respect
8:21 "it doesn't make sense how the card would have been attached to that" i assumed him kissing his wrist then the card at 8:09 was him attaching it to the string. unless thats what you are saying that that move doesn't make sense
Yeah you see him grab the tag from his wrist and kiss it to the card. It being possible is another story but they do shoe a reason for it. It's not random.
I was looking for this exact comment
Saw that too lol
I've seen this scene a million times and never put that together...
They also could have been referring to how it stayed stuck to the card. It was probably a magnet, since the chip on the back of the card had metal. That’s the only way I see it staying attached to the card.
I wasn't looking at my phone and he said "Now You See Me 2" and I looked back to see a dude put a 5hr Energy bottle on a table and I was like *I don't remember this scene*
It was an ad
😂
Real magic XD

Thought you were talking about the fresh prince bit
TAH DAH!
It's nice to know that the parts of the Now You See Me 2 slight of hand stuff was clarified. I thought the bit where he caught it with his mouth wasn't possible, some parts I knew were, but knowing a large majority of the slight of hand was is nice to know!
I like that in NYSM2 not only do they have the skills of magicians, but they have the charisma and confidence that I feel makes the movie what it is. They really do feel like performers when they do their tricks (especially in the 1st movie).

React to deception, it was a series basically about a magician that becomes a consultant for the FBI and uses his magic tricks and skills to capture criminals. 👌🏽
Never seen it. Looking into it now. Thanks!
It was called Deception (2018) Ran for 13 episodes
Deception was a great show and I am sad it never got a season 2, I actually figured out the card trick he did on the first episode from watching it once, I then performed it for a couple of random people in their homes....while fixing their cable, thats right I was the cable guy that also performed some magic, it was like only 3 or 4 tricks and only for less then 1% of my customers
Okay, the chain thing with Christian Bail wasn't real, but the dropping the ball was excellent misdirection
This isn't juggling!
@@ccubsfan94 nice reference wow
Yeah had it been the magicians cuffs he might have been able to pull that off, but with real ones? Ehh no.

I'm loving this series of videos. I'm going to go back and re-watch these movies now :)
6:00 I love this movie
I have so much more respect for the nysm 2 scene, now that i know Dave actually learnt all that
This video was amazing! As a hobbiest magician, I've always wondered about what "real" magicians think about magic in movies, especially tricks, concepts, or characters that play an integral role in the actual plot. I would love to see more of these, especially for the prestige, which has always been my favorite magic movie! Also, I follow Andre Jhik for his finance channel. Had no idea he played an advisory role in Now You See Me. How cool!
This was a truly great collab. Thank you, so very enjoyable., I hope you two wonderful artists do this again.
I love discovering the random magic that appeared in some of those TV shows and movies!
I love this scenes, and the movies they are all great😂😂
i hate how yall missed woody attach the IT to the card with wax using his mouth
Love this! Fun having Chris on to get another perspective.
It’s pretty cool to see what actual magicians think of those movies. Keep it coming. And Wes, you don’t need Chris to make you look good.
I didn't know about the Riverdale thing, pretty pointless to hire some other guy to be the face of the blackjack dealer
Surprised Chris didn’t bring a puzzle box. Love these videos
Love this! Make it a series! :D
Loved this reaction with TWO amazing magicians!
Neil has explained that he actually learned a specific "crap magic" for Barney Stinson on HIMYM, so he looks very amateurish and kinda bad at magic.
It's a running joke on the show that he's constantly starting fires, hiding magic doodads, having accidental mis-fires with actual fire... etc.
He got into magic because a guy who owned a magic shop was totally not banging his mom. They were just practicing magic in her bedroom, the amazing "Dissapearing Salami" trick of fable.
So yeah... he's supposed to be bad at magic. That's the joke. You see it from a mile away and he always does that silly stance and the others always know the fire is coming and often flinch first or try to stop him. They even have an intervention for his fire magic because he burned the apartment.
Wow
Damn.. just put a variation of this comment out, not knowing that backstory
I can't say much about the tricks but the bra removal was 100% real
I need more of this! 🔥
I would love to see a part 2!

I am from Jamaica. I love how you guys comment on these movies with magic . Good job man. . Ya man
Just wondering when Chris mentioned that it didn’t make sense for the card to be attached to that rope, was it cause he didn’t see woody attach the rope with his mouth? Or because the fact he attached it in that manner it wouldn’t make sense?
Correct, I think they missed Woody attaching it with his mouth
they diddnt see when haymish put the string on the card with his mouth

Great guy! Army buddy of mine was going through a tough time and on his flight back from home to base, he met this guy sitting next to him. He did his best to cheer him up and he managed to do so.. Wes later asked him to hang out after their flight to make sure he was good afterwards. He invited me and couple other friends to join them in Fredericton, N.B right before his show. We hung out at the snooty fox restaurant and he was just a great guy. Hilarious dude. Very kind man.
The one in the movie now you see me 2 is incredible - you both are very awesome

Thank you guys! This was very enjoyable! I loved the lil tidbits of info that you guys would add (not strictly just reviewing & judging or loving/hating on the content that you showed) like, I didn’t know Neil Patrick Harris REALLY knows magic! (Same w/ Tom Cruise). Or, how it was pointed out that, when actors actually DO the magic tricks on-screen, they are facing the challenge of, NOT ONLY pulling off the trick, legitimately, & making other true magicians proud of their performance but, also, that they are doing this all, WHILE acting out their lines, simultaneously. The Riverdale thing, WELLLLLLLL, I get why it was thrown into THIS deck. 😅 (sorry!) 🤷 It was cool to find out that it was common, on film, that real magicians get hired to play the hands 🙌 of actors~
I can’t wait to look up the video of WES & his rendition of the card-hiding scene from ‘NOW YOU SEE ME 2’! Thank you guys very, VERY MUCH for this video! Dave Franco is seemingly a LEGIT actor who’s studied/studies his craft for the occasion of what ever he’s appearing in. I hope that he never winds up getting gobbled up & overly-neglected by THE INDUSTRY.
THANX FOR ALL YOU’RE HARD WORK & IDEAS… NIPPLE FINGERS! 🃏🙊🙉🙈
