You know a way that it'll make it competitive? Both teams pick a charity, all the players on the team that loses has to donate 10k to both charities. Now that will make it competitive.
TheKnowledgeSeeker giving penalties instead of rewards as an incentive to win/lose will discourage players of wanting to become an All-Star in the first place.

I think they're forgetting that Lebron also has three point shooters as well and they are big men who shoot 3's lol. Plus they have the fastest point guards with Wesbrook, and Wall. Plus Lebron's team has the better defense and rebounding. Lebron's team would only lose because they're not playing seriously enough.

Harder to stop bigger dudes shooting 3's you can't reach them as easily, guards would struggle more without big men or someone covering them. They'll need more space with big men this is pretty obvious. Lets see them stop Durant shooting over them, Anthony Davis and so forth, they already have guards who can shoot 3's as well Team Lebron hands down. Actually those guys can defend any where.
With the exception of KD and Kyrie, who else on that team is a 40%+ 3pts shooter? Westboork, Wall, Lebron, AD are all average outside shooter.
And there is nobody can stop Steph and Harden from launching 3s anywhere on the court. They also got speed and handle that can get the shot whenever and wherenever they want.
This is not the traditional NBA game where a big man will dominate the paint. The new game nowadays revolve around shooting 3s and ball movement. Have you seen GS posting up any big men lately?
I think they will play good ball. I just think that they will be very conscious about not injuring each other. So we will probably see very little if any hard contact.

Majority of the times, nobody understand Jason Whitlock. He always speaks too much base from emotions more than rational analysis. He is annoying to be honest most of the time. He seems he has too much issues in life.

They should take it to the next level. Saturday night, or even sunday before the game have the draft live. Like a REAL pick up game. gives the captains the opportunity to explain their picks. Commercially you can exploit it as the NBA.

The reason the all-star game has been trash isn't because it was East vs West. There are two main reasons:
1.There is no real best player debate.
2.The best player in the world isn't an insanely competitive person like Kobe and MJ.
It was always one of the two that drove the all star game narrative, from Bill vs Wilt to Magic vs Bird to MJ and Kobe. Now all we have is a clear best player in the world who doesn't have that killer instinct and no one close enough to him to make what they do in the all star game relative.
At this stage in their respective careers, KD is close to Lebron. Problem is, Lebron picked him on his team, taking away that prospective matchup lol. But I agree, there was always that 'one' guy that set the competitive stage and the other players followed.
Have three teams picked. Play open gym style to 31 or so. Winner stays on the court.

Close game. LeBron has more talent and size but also drama. Steph got tons of shooting BUT they all play fast. There's a chance Stephs starters outrun LeBrons. And if one or two shooters on Stephs team get hot, its over. LeBron does have more defense and might get some blocks in.
