man you deserve way more subscribers than you currently have. I just love how you talk in details about the products while reviewing them. It's just what we want to know and decide whether or not to buy them. You're one of the best reviewers when it comes to headphones. 👍 👊 ✌
+Asmit Ghimire Thanks! :3
+Asmit Ghimire Having such a high view count with a relatively low subscriber number is actually a really good analytic. He will definitely grow though, I agree his delivery is very good.
+lachlanlikesathing it's true honesty
Maybe you haven't heard of Z reviews. Many more and better reviews IMO.
+Potus ThePlant of course I have but comparision apart this channel just interests me
I don't want to alarm you or anything, but, there is a possessed blue doll moving in the background, I hope you saw it a year ago and threw it away,
IT IS TOO LATE. WE ARE THE DOLL NOW.
i can't stop staring at the blue bobble head on the shelf behind you
+Tazzwar Azam They are called Nohohons. :)
Valyrian Steel might buy one
+Tazzwar Azam , Why do you have to say it, now I can't stop looking at it.
I hate you so much now
Tazzwar Azam Yup! now I can't stop staring on it.
As usual a great and thoughtful video. I'm really glad that you are updating your favorites list to include newer headphones. Also Lachlan, props to you for going against the grain and putting controversial headphones like the QC25 and Solo 2 on your list. It really shows that you are a really unbiased reviewer, and has an open mind to all brands and products. I hope to see more great content like this soon.
I enjoy listening to your quite analytical reviews. Very informative and in depth!
Well done! I love how in depth you go. The fact that you actually have hours behind what you are saying is greatly appreciated. It adds to your credibility. Instead one of those "top five" etc and they just lift a bunch of whatever and talk about the stats that would be on the product's page. Well done. You've earned a subscriber and a big fat like from me!
You have such a natural, friendly presentation style and are really cute as well :3 I enjoy watching these reviews a lot, couldn't ask for more
Your reviews literally blew me away! Awesome job!
hi. just pickup a MSR7 and x3 fiio. Thanks for all the great reviews. made it easier to decide. keep up the good work. cheers
Your videos are excellent, well paced, and well produced. Keep it up, man!
You truly are an amazing reviewer! Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks for the great reviews! Helped my understanding of headphones (especially understanding which harsher headphones hurt my ears!) :)
Why the hell does this guy not have more subscribers wtf
He'll get there :) countries aren't built in a fortnight.
Nick Leavitt gay!!
+Nick Leavitt I think coz he is Audio Technicalism. for him Audio Technica is the best Headphone on this EARTH...
+Nick Leavitt cause of his hair
+Ronald Spears no no no that's MKBHD, he's more of a Shure, Beyerdynamic and Sony guy
Really, big thanks for so expanded description. =)
Hey man I'm new you your channel and I love it!
Very in depth review of each pair of headphones that you showcased, actually probably the best I've seen in awhile. Kudos, keep it up, and ill be subscribing. c:
Micah Rivera Thanks!
you just need more subscribers man! you deserve it!
Absolutely right about the ATH M70x. They are my first audiophile headphones and I'm completely overwhelmed by their clarity and detail. Makes good quality classic music a gorgeous experience. And electronic music sounds great without that much bass, I detect details I'd never heard before.
Hi, I would also love to see any dac/amp reviews for the headphones. I find your music preferences to be almost same as that of mine and i find your reviews to be accurate and detailed. thank you :)
lachlan, have you ever paired your headphones with portable DAC or Amplifier? do you have any suggestion?
you deserve more more subscriber. i like your style on reviewing headphones
This is my first time watching on of your videos and I find it really informative. The reviews are really detailed and well explained. I don't know much about headphones/audio tech but this video really helped me a lot. Tired of the beats bandwagon...😒
Hi Lachlan! I was wondering if you are thinking of doing a video on earphone recommendations for the gym?
I've been rocking with the Momentum M2 for about a week at school and they work fine for me. I was expecting a bit more isolation at about 50% but I guess 60%'s just going to have to do. I love how the cable makes no noise whatsoever when walking around. Of course, love the very agreeable and easy-going sound.
I had a person approach me about the M2's and he tried them on, and commented on how the vocals sounded really clear. They should be as I see him rocking with some throwaway skullcandies.
You should re do this video this year :)
nice specs to pair with m70x. and yes i'm surprised m70x became your go-to headphone... after seeing your re-review of it
I really love the Bose QC25 either!
BTW I saw the album cover of Fullmetal Alchemist popped up on your screen :D
Great informative review. Love your flowery and very descriptive language. I've subscribed. Any recommendations on more affordable headphones; say less than $100
elbowroomtube I quite like the ZX701iP for the price :) www.amazon.com/Sony-DRZX701IP-Monitor-Headphones-iPhone/dp/B005MIIZ3E Doesn't isolate well though.
Great analogy at the end of your video for buying the Bose QC25.
Royksopp, Placebo, The Doors, The Knife, Crystal Castles, I think I could fall in love with your itunes library xx
Nice video on time, based on your reviews, the top 3 shortlisted:
Sennheiser Amperior
Beyerdynamic T51i
Audio-Technica ATH M70X
Thanks!
i somehow like ur video ur great speaker bro and nice review i kinda feel the comfort
Your videos are amazing, I've learned so much!
So is the Beyerdynamic not too great if listening to mostly electronic/pop/alt? The Audiotechnicas seem much more up my alley but they're just too big.
great review man! before i have my beats solo i thought its the best headphone in the world but when i check on the internet regarding best on ear headphone reviewers said that ath-m50x is the best. so i grab one it damn it surprise me. quite bit sad because its not on your list but still happy because you pick the newest one. keep up!
Great video! One thing that I want to echo as someone else said all of these headphones are quite pricey for those of us not endowed with money.
This video is the best portable headphones (in your opinion). I think you should break it down into price ranges like under $100, $200, $300, etc.
Also your favorite headphones for home use, working out, all around, etc.
I think a lot of us would appreciate the different categories because, as you know, each headphone has its own unique purpose.
As always, keep up the awesome reviews. Cheers!
Great summary for portable headphones!
How about a similar one on home listening headphones? Sound quality and comfort, but no need for noise isolation. Especially, I'm looking forward to your in-depth review of the ATH-R70X!!! (You probably guessed that by now. Haha.)
This is a great reviewing! Do you have any ideas about which portable over-ears suit for the Ibasso dx90? currently, I am using an in-ear ie8i and want to go for a over-ear.
Excellent review.
It's nice to know your 3 favorite headphones of 2015. I don't have any of the three you picked, but on your second favorite, I do have your alternatives:the Beats solo 2 and the Sennheiser Amperior and I love them. Thanks.
Lachlan, any chance you can do a video on the top wireless/Bluetooth headphones?
Have you reviewed the Bowers & Wilkins headphones (P7, C5S2, P5S2)? Would love to see a video on that.
My favorite portable headphone is the v-moda m-100. I think looks and styling are often neglected in discussions on portable headphones, and v-moda combines really detailed sound, and comfort with the XL pads, with the bet styling of any headphone, because you can customize the looks to however you want.
All of the headphones Lachlan chose look good, but they aren't designed specifically for my unique tastes. My m-100s are.
ThoseWhoStayUofM I have vmoda xs and I agree, style and comfort are almost mandatory for portability. Sound is definitely right up there but tbh cell phones aren't going to drive top notch headphones anyway.
Very helpful info thanks..
QC25 has a DSP that activates with the ANC that completely changes the sound and that's why the ANC seems to work so well.
I asked for your advice on a video about 5 months ago of the amperior headphones, I love mine they have great sound and it's actually comfortable after a few days of use and getting used to the clamping force. I couldn't recommend the amperior enough. Thanks Lachlan otherwise I wouldn't have these amazing headphones
Nice! do you have a video for your favorite desktop/open headphones?
very nice this BOSE QC25 . thanks to your advice . 👂👍🎧
Thoughts on the Phillip Fidelio NC1 as a comparison to the Bose QC25? I have a pair of NC1's and the noise cancelling is awesome. I can't hear myself typing right now, and I have a loud keyboard! I read somewhere else that the NC1 sound quality was slightly better, and especially when active is turned off on both. I would love for you to give them a try and hear your thoughts! Subscribed.
Pretty like your videos and suggestions! But a part would confuse me that is the 'street price' you talking about is much cheaper than what I can find in Australia. Would you mind give me some suggestions about where could I got headphones in a 'street price'?
Which in-ear earpones would you recommend for a person who listens to a lot of instrumentals and classical music? Also which features should i be looking for, in terms of "highs" and "lows". i dont really know what they mean
This guy has the same issue I have. I have Obsession with wanting new headphones even though I already own a couple good pair. Nice video bud. Subbed. :)
Hi lachlanlikeathing! Greetings from Chile!
This video came up perfect for what I'm looking right now! I want my first high quality (overall) portable headphones, and I'm between Beyerdymanic and Bose... leaving everything on a balance (detach cable, confort, price, User with glasses jajajaj, etc) I still not sure about witch one. So if you can be so kind to advice me between sound quality of these two.
Are you familiar about the support from Beyerdynamic? Bose is well Know in Chile, and has a lots of stores here... Beyerdynamics nobody knows them here...
Best regards! already a subscriber (apologies for my rusty english).
Do you have plans on making a video on your favorite IEM's?
Been wanting to get a new IEM to replace my Sennheiser CX300
thanks for the review and your experience now I will know with one I will to get thank again
what's the best headphone out of those for listening to electronic music?
Hi man, good video. I have an issue finding my next headphone. I listen mostly pop songs and sometimes instruments music. I watched your review for m50x and m70x. I am wondering which one would be more suitable for my use. Or would you recommend any other headphones about $300-$400 USD with a good sound quality?
Well i have my audio technica ath-sj55... really good bass for a mid range class... kudos to AT and to Lachlan you do detailed reviews!
I'm rocking the Bang and Olufsen H8 now. Just before this, I was using the Parrot Zik.(I have a thing for wireless headphones)
Did you review them?
Thanks Lachlan for the excellent review. I've had the M70x for about 6 months and I think your summary of the M70x is spot on. It is almost surgical like in the precision with which it renders audio details. The character of its bass response is different than the M50x, not as thick but better controlled and highly detailed in string nuances. Basically it reveals everything that is there, good and bad. In addition to analytical listening, I think the M70 can do well for general listening use, maybe with a little EQ ing.
Hi, I liked your review a lot. Can you help me find a headphone that can be used both in wired and wireless mode? Do you think is there any headphone with high sound quality (similar to Audio Technica ATHM70x / MSR7 ) out there that can be used both in wired and wirelessly ?
Are you going to review the Master & Dynamic MH30s? Very interested in these and I'm curious about what you think about them.
May you please make a video comparing the V-Moda M100 vs the Audio Technica ATH-MSR7? Thanks!
Hey lachlan I wnated to ask if you've replaced the pads on the MSR7's or if it's something you'd recommend doing because I'm looking into buying them as my first pair of "serious" headphones. Thanks I know this is a bit late this vid. just popped up in my recommended so I'm just like why not?
I'd be very interested in hearing your opinion on bluetooth headphones.
I know wireless headphones don't really stand much chance against the wired variants when it comes to audio quality but I'd still be interested to see you test and review some wireless headphones/earphones.
Thanks for the video! Would you pick the T51p over the DT1350CC?
I am just wondering but what is your opinion on using the m70x for gaming as well. I am looking for headphones for listening to music and to attach my modmic on for long term gaming as well. Also what other headphones would you recommend I like neutral-bassy sounding headphones mostly but have no real preference.
Hi, I've found your channel and It's quite enjoy the content! I own a DT 770 32 ohm version. I love the sound but find the comfort to be seriously lacking. Somehow the area under the ears get really uncomfy. I do have slightly bigger ears.
I have my old QPad qh90 which I quite enjoy (probably the same as HyperX). They are much more comfortable as they divide the pressure evenly.
So, could you recommend me something that is as comfortable as possible, would sound as good as the dt 770, and that would have some bass. The more the better :) Oh, and it has to be closed. I have thought about the Sennheiser Game Zero as I game competitively. But I do listen to music and play games 50/50.
Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.
Just one question again, Lach :) You said that QC25 sounds, more or less, like an headphone that costs half the price. So, does it sound like the Audio Technica ATHM50X ?
Hey Lachie, what is your recommendation of a pair of closed-back, full-size headphones????
i need this video. Still searching for my perfect portable mid priced headphone. Wonder whether you recommend the 50x over the 70x for more general listening?
Your videos has always been great to watch. Keep it up!
+Derry Ahmad Go for the 50x , you won't be disappointed. It is the single pair for which I've heard nothing but positive review. I brought it and I couldn't have chosen a better option.
hi im looking to buy a new closed back headphone and im not realy an expert when it comes to headphones so i was wondering what would u recommend ? i wanna audiophile level headphone but closed be cuz isolation is very important to me
What do you think about m70x vs m50(x)?
Which one is better for all-rouder?
Hey Lachlan! thanks for the video, i can get MSR 7 for 70 euro cheaper than the m-70x. Is it worth to take the m-70x? or do you have another over-ear and closed headphones at those range of price? thanks before
Nice video dude. but I still can't decide. Ive never bought headphones always used earphones but wanna try headphones ...still confused as to what to go for, I want solid bass
can you do a review of AKG n60nc? I'd love to see some comparison of those AKGs with the T51p.
Hey. Really like your headphone-reviews and I'd like to suggest a particular model, which you probably haven't heard about yet.
The Magnat Lzr 980. Magnat is a renowned Hifi-Specialist in Germany.
Those guys just started to make headphones tho, so I'm not quite sure if they can keep up with their quality Sound-Systems.
Would really like to see you review the Magnat LZR!
Cheers! :-)
What would you recommend for a noise-isolating/noise-cancelling headphone under 100? I am considering ath-anc27 or anc 29. Do you have other suggestions?
Lachlan did you drop off the grid?
Great audio reviews.
my personal headphones that I wear and carry almost every day are the Sol Republic Tracks Air headphones. I listen to a lot of electronic music, and they are a lot of fun with those! I'm not an audiophile, but I feel that they have a definite emphasis on the low end, but I don't feel like it's strong enough to drown out mids and highs. I bought mine on sale at a Radio Shack for $100 USD. I would love to hear your thoughts on them if you would ever be interested on picking them up :)
Got myself the T51i and absolutely love them. Btw, will you be doing a similar video for home/non-portable cans? I would love to see that. Also, are you still using o2+odac? Thanks for all the enjoyable videos!
Sure, I will be making such a video eventually :) thanks!
Shall I get the audio technica ATH-M70X or Shure SRH840/940?
Do you still rate the NAD Viso HP50's high?
Sold the QC25 and got the new Wireless Around Ear II, no NC, but I found that the sound is slightly more lively in the treble. At least I think so, it is a long time since I had the QC25.
Love your review videos! I've been watching the reviews on the m50x, m70x, and the MSR7. I'm looking to get one of those since I haven't had a somewhat decent pair of full headphones since a pair of Turtle Beaches long ago for gaming. Those broke over time and I've been using the regular basic Apple earbuds for a longtime now. I haven't had the time to go to a store and test out some headphones yet, but relatively speaking, compared to the amount of bass Apple earbuds give in comparison to the highs and mids, how would the MSR7 compare in regards to bass? I'm looking for something leaning warm. And plugged into a laptop, what's a good comparison on how loud the MSR7 can get?
Personally, I'm planning on getting the ifi hip dac 2 with mine when I get it some day. Look into it maybe.
Does the QC35 and 25 share the same drivers? If so would you recommend the 25 still since it’s about $150-175 USD less than the 35.
Have you reviewed the Blue Mo-Fi headphones? Looks good.
Hi I am planing on purchasing a wireless Bluetooth headphones to replace my beats wireless... the very first version... I love them but they left headband snapped when I was trying to put them on... so I am forced to finally buy a new one... and I am finding something like beats but a different brand probably something better than my beats headset... wireless Bluetooth... Can you help me choose one?
Love to try the MX-70x in the near future, I had T51p as well and I love it.
***** Haha they couldn't be more different! (Well they could but you get what I mean.)
I love the Creative Auruvana Live 2 headphones. But it breaks so fast. I love the sound stage and bass and most of all the comfort. I would love to know if there is anything else more reliable in terms of build but have the same sound quality. Thanks
wonder where the sony mdr 100 aap fits in here if you ever get to review it
Hey lach, Hav you considered getting more into wireless headphones?
As you say you like more of a warmer sound which would you recommend for that, as of right now. under 600 euro / 948 australian dollar.
hi +lachlanlikesathing can you do some review on budget dac and amp portable ? especially from chinna there's a lot of them under 100 usd i would happy to hear your opinion on them
hi...what do you prefer in audio expierence...bose nc headphone or shure se215?
I was wondering what are your thoughts on Bluetooth headphones like the Sony MDR-ZX770BT or BN
Beyerdynamic T51 is my fav.
Hey im currently using my Nexus 5 for my music. Do you think it has a good output or do i maybe i have to consider getting a DAC. I always use Flac files (i really want to get the most of my music)
Just discovered your reviews due to the Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H3. Thank you, as you saved me a bit of money. Ended up casually watching some of your other reviews, because I enjoyed the first so much. I love how almost anally thorough / detailed your reviews are; very well done, even masterfully so. I was only slightly disappointed to see that you didn't review the Harman Kardon AE or the Bowers & Wilkins C5 Series 2, would've loved to hear those in contrast of the H3. But I noticed you don't review Harman's. -- I'll probably end up getting both, and letting the one I like the least collect dust, lol. But if you ever to a review I'd love to hear / see it, even in hindsight.
Prasand J. The Harmans were basically impossible to find in Australia outside of Apple Stores. I had a brief listen, they were nice but not especially comfortable. And thanks for your comments!
***** (fixed the typos of this comment, lol)
you're welcome, and thank you for the courtesy.
For me, your reviews are like hearing a connoisseur describe the flavors of a glass of wine. On my own, I wouldn't have discerned the flavors because my tastebuds are not as refined. But in hearing the description, I might be able to say, "actually, that DOES taste of bit woody / oaky with a bit of cinnamon." -- Just as when you describe the warmth of tones, I can now understand what "warmth" sounds like, and experience it without being oblivious to / ignorant of the beauty. Such is why I would enjoy it even in hindsight. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Prasand J. You're welcome, though the comparison to wine tasting is a bit iffy because wine tasters have been shown in various tests to be completely inconsistent with their judgements haha.
Hey bro, whats the best headphone under 2000hkd in your opinion?
Hi There....During the early nineties there was a Sony Stereo System that had a liniear skating tape deck mechanism on them and they do sound good...Anyway what I want to know is what model does this Sony Stereo System at present is now called or has evolved into. It is not the Micro systems. This is before the Micros Please if you know kindly let me know Thank You, JB
Hello, just wondering if anyone has an issue where a slight movement of where the cable attaches to the headphone on the MSR7 causes loss of sound on one side? And how to fix this?
