    You aren’t wrong but I’d much prefer to find a headphone that works with my glasses. I do wear thick plastic frames. That said I do not work in the headphone selling business where it makes total sense for you to find something that works with everything. Also I’m right there with you when it comes to contacts. I even struggle to get eye drops in my eyes.

    I chose the perfect frame without realizing it. I recently got a new frame and they were just large enough to cause extra light refraction and give me unfathomable headaches. I’m talking nauseous eye ball hurting migraine inducing frames. The mere thought of those glasses gives me a headache. They had a wide leg that did interfere with my headphones. So I went back to my optometrist and discussed the problem and we with basically the same frames I was already used to. I did notice that Sennheiser HD 6 series cans are the least affected due to the narrow ear cup shape. I do wear contacts but many times at night when I know I won’t be leaving the house I remove my lenses. It”s nice to know that my glasses aren’t affecting the sound. I do find that the leg of my frames makes an indent in my Beyerdynamic velour pads so I’m careful not to wear those too long when wearing glasses. Hopefully my glasses won’t interfere with my Focal Elear pads. I plan in trying some Dekoni Sheepskins but I don’t like wearing glasses with leather pads due to the indentation the glasses make in the leather.

    I've always preferred the look of thicker frames and just dealt with their incompatibility with bigger headphones, but a few years ago I came across Proof Eyewear's "Reed Wood Rx" frames. They're thick wooden frames around the lenses in a squared off wayfarer sort of style, but transition to a thin metal about half way down the arms in a manner I found to be very headphones friendly, at least for my skull shape. Best of both worlds.

    any tips bro i use steel series artics 5. i have had my glasses for over a year, but through this time the arm on the right side has come lose and the screw does not tighten properly due to the arm having pressure from the headset. it feels so uncomfortable, feels like im looking through my glasses sideways even though they are straight still.
    im going to be getting a new pair soon from specsavers and would you have any recommendations. my eyes are bad for site so results in my lenses being thick
    i watched the entire video but still dont know whats better

    Would you generally say open back headphones are less sensitive to glasses compared to closed ones? I noticed this for myself but I'm not quite sure

    • @lachlanlikesathing
      @lachlanlikesathing  Před 5 lety +1

      I would say that it all depends on the design of the headphone and it seems difficult to predict. Headphones are designed to expect a particular damping (compliance) of the air between the driver and the ear, and it depends on the headphone how it will react to changes in damping. And of course the shape of the ear pads and your skull will be a factor. The innerfidelity article interesting in terms of the variety of results: www.innerfidelity.com/content/effect-glasses-headphone-frequency-response

    • @dnd6379
      @dnd6379 Před 5 lety

      Yes, open are open anyways so it shouldnt change the sound much on most open backs. Closed need to be closed from both sides.

  • @ThunderKat

    I try asking this on google and they offer the other way around response.
    Sound silly when actually a good pair of glasses is where the solution starts and not the headsets.

    The Logitech UE 6000 and probably the UE 9000 are very sensitive to glasses frames. I can hear a huge difference even with thin frames in bass response.

    glasses for headphones are such a bummer. And so are companys for glasses. Every 2-3 years or so when i need new glasses, i need to pay a ton of money extra, wich makes no sense at all. I m using the same glasses for like...for ever. Since they are super paper thin titanium thingys and every other i try are bad on headphones. The fun part is: if i want new ones, i pay MORE for not wanting new glasses. I could save money buy getting brand new ones because they allways sell them as like a deal thing. But if i only want new glasses for my existing ones, wich in theory should cost LESS because i m not buying new glasses alltogether... i end up paying more... its complete BS
