As someone who wears fairly thick-framed glasses, I don't actually find them to be much of an issue at all, not as much as you would expect. Earpads tend to conform to the shape of your head and the arm of the glasses. It's certainly not much of an issue on open backs and its also not an issue with any headphone with a deep, especially memory foam earpad. Something to note, pads such as Sennheiser HD650 or Beyerdynamic velour, which might at first cause an issue, the pads actually wear out and leave a groove where the glasses arm is so you kind of break them in after a while. I noticed a loss of seal from time to time with the K371/K361 when moving my head around, more so on the K361 due to the lower clamping force. But because of the memory foam it wasn't really an issue when not moving around. Of course, shallow earpad closed backs such as your average monitoring headphone can be an issue. Certainly tho, the next time I buy glasses I'll go for a thinner frame.

Excellent topic, and so good of you to look out for us! I am grateful I at least have supremely thin arms (titanium, flexible, thin) on my own glasses, now, but it's not always been the case and might not be with the next prescription!

Thick plastic frame user here. Just to share some experiences with lower end stuff. Open headphones usually don’t provide any problems. For some cheaper options the akg k series, Beyerdynamics, he500 with pref zmf ori pads, Sennheiser hd600 are all just fine imho.
Closed headphones are tricky and it’s tough for me to comment but having just had dt770 with alpha pads and compared it directly to the mmx300 with dekoni choice leather pads the difference was stunning. The higher clamp force on the mmx and the dekoni pads sealed better which really seemed to push the v shape. The highs were crisp and more accentuated and the sub bass had more rumble. The well worn dt770 with alpha pads sounded like a more even frequency response. I also have the Argons and I certainly don’t hear the sub bass like the mmx.
Thank you for doing this video as it’s a rarely talked about subject. I also wonder about the aeon 2 though because when I looked for impressions with glasses I remember hearing the original aeons were very seal dependent.

Hey I know I'm kind of reviving an old video but I was having issues with my ZMF Verite Closed and seal breaking even on seemingly 'thin'' glasses frames. Though not wire framed, they were flat thin. So maybe that was my issue. Even still comfort was not great. I ended up getting Gunnar Lightning glasses that come with detachable arms. With it is an included nylon attachment (think sports glasses). Completely eliminated my seal issue and comfort issue at the same time. I don't have any way to measure it but I have some test songs that made it very apparent I was losing a lot of bass. On top of this I did move to the Suede pads as they add a little extra bass.
Sounds silly to spend $200 for glasses just to wear headphones but I mean we spend thousands of dollars on all of this equipment, might as well make sure I'm getting all I can out of it while being able to see.

Makes a pretty big difference for me, never measured, nor do i have the equipment to measure, so there is certainly the possiblity of a placebo effect from increased comfort, but tossing my contacts in vs wearing my glasses consistently makes a noticeable difference in sound quality for me. Very late to this party(2 year old video), but I stumbled across this almost as I was thinking about this exact topic. It is one of the most noticable changes I can make to improve my listening experience, for other things(pad change, dac/amp change, etc) I can usually pick out the increases and decreases in sound quality, but there are times that I will very readily admit to just not personally noticing much of a difference even if I KNOW from an objective standpont that it's there, but slip off my glasses and 99% of the time I'll be able to pick out various areas of improvement.

Another option that wasn't mentioned are the fostex headphones. As a glasses wearer with thickish frames, I've found all the fostex variants to not be sensitive to seal at all. I mean to the point that you could even lift them slightly off your face, so no seal at all, and they still sound 70% normal like that. Specifically I've used the old Denon d5000 and I assume all the other variants of that fostex OEM, and then currently the e-mu purplehearts/CAL. They all shared the same performance and seal characteristics with glasses. Just pointing it out since they are less expensive than the options mentioned, as long as not having a neutral headphone is ok lol.
Also to that other comment about getting Lasik for headphones, I'm legitimately going to be doing that at some point in the near future. Well not just for headphones obviously, but it's part of it haha.
Glad to know zmf work well though, since I've been looking at getting a pair soon. I love closed back headphones just for the privacy (no noise leak) and for the quiet background (no noise leak into the headphones). So far very few options exist that sound as good as open headphones, and out of those they are pretty pricey. I don't even use them on the go, closed headphones just for desktop use. Hopefully more come out in the future that are as good.

As someone who uses glasses practically all day everyday, my ZMF and Audeze purchases are looking more and more as the best picks I could have made.
The "legs" of my glasses are also quite thin but I wonder how much of the frequency is affected when I use my TH900mk2's(stock pads btw) though, as I so very much love my sweet sweet low-end.

Yeah, unfortunately this review only covers cans above $1000. For normal budgets you could go with the Beyerdynamic DT-770, 880, or 990 which are all under $200, sound decent, and use soft velour pads that are unaffected by glasses. Also the Drop Sennheiser HD-6xx at $199 (a clone of the HD-650) has stiffer pads but they have never affected me (I do use very thin frames on my glasses). I also have the Campfire Cascade with their XL pads which are more expensive at $799 but sound really great. I have even used the Sony 1000 XM3 and Bose QC 35 without issues.

I like how kilodoller headphones are recomended for for those that aren't wealthy. Clearly the income disparity is real.
That being said the bass dropoff isn't that bad as you are trying to make it seem. I got curious how thicc after even my sports sunglasses didn't make a a signifant difference to the subbass. It took 2 1.5cm thick pens to get the kind of rolloff you were experencing and that was with the r70x and its stiff pads. With the msr7 bass drop off still wasn't really that bad and only the upper half of the headphone experencing significant subbass loss while the lower half still retained it.
That being said I would still recommend wireframe glasses for comfort .
