Shared this vid on my Facebook just now. You videos did help inspire me and my husband to do a Norway tour, on a Honda Rebel 1100 and a Harley Softtail, in the end om July and in the beginning of August, the worst touristy season. Rain and Sun- we will do another one in 2024.
Having had to cancel my North Yorkshire Moors 'tour' due to bike issues and forecasted long periods of rain for everyday during the trip, I feel your pain! 🙁 Stunning drone photography, and piloting skills. Thanks for cheering up my wet Wednesday! 👍
Nothing more fun then watching a couple of guys having fun ( with cloths on... ). Nice videos Andy! I hope to ride to kirkenes next year, but my bike is currently at the dealer with gearbox issues
Loving the series. It is interesting how Ian sounds like the adults in the Peanuts cartoons in other videos and like R2-D2 in this one. Either way I think it is funnier than knowing what he is actually saying.
Bugger me! One wrong move of the drone control and you'd have a 4 prop submarine, very brave. Great views when it cleared up, I was getting a bit of a weirdsville vibe in some of those places. Excellent drone 0.3048 metreage ( that's metric, that is) Brilliant vid as always, Andy.🇬🇧🙂
We were there in June. Bud was shut! Nothing opened until the 15th across a lot of Norway. There was a WW2 bunker system at the Maritime Museum(closed) and a section of Anchor from that cruise ship that nearly got stuck on the rocks. The Atlantic way was underwhelming given how much publicity it gets. We had overshot the main bridge, going eastwards, before we realised that was it. Swung round in that petrol station and went back to look again. There are so many much more impressive erections as you say.
I feel your pain mate. I was there again in May and pretty much everything i wanted to ride was closed. Apparently they had worse than normal snow in the areas i visited. Still had a blast though thankfully!! Totally agree with the Atlantic road. We found it a bit less spectacular than the hype. Plenty of far more beautiful things to see. I also believe that many people see pictures of the bridges in the Lofoten islands and confuse them with these ones. The Lofoten views look like they’re exponentially more impressive. Sadly it’s an extra 1000km further up and we didn’t have time!
Totally Jim. The soup made everything so much greener and lusher, but it’s no good if you can’t see it!! Mr Morecombe must be kept alive ad infinitum! I Wonder how many others spotted it! There’s a Monty Python one in there somewhere too 😉
Hi Andy, ***Loving this series👍*** I’m in Australia 🇦🇺 and as you can imagine it’s more than difficult to get to the Trollstigen. We’ve been there twice in 23 years…the first visit the road was closed…the second visit a complete white out with fog. Apparently it’s very scenic if you time it right…maybe next time. As I mentioned at the beginning….Fantastic series, wonderful footage, entertaining commentary 👍. As usual you’ve nailed it again. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks very much Peter. That's annoying, sorry mate. I feel your pain though. my recent ADV escapade was way too early in the season and most of the trails I planned were also closed. Very frustrating for me having travelled from Hamburg, so for you it must have been 1000 times more annoying!
I did not know you were riding with R2D2!!! In your helmet com's, his voice sounds just like stars wars. So funny. 😁had the video stopped while typing that and as soon as I resumed at 7:00 you said... "use the force luke" like how freaky is that? I write about R2D2 and then you say use the force Luke. Something is really strange. I think I've watched this route about 5 times with different riders and those water falls and the switchback roads. Apparently you know my Jesus. Your always saying his name. I mean, you never say Buddha any other false god. One of the best videos I've seen in a long time. Lots of talking and little music and all natural sounds. Keep it up. thanks. 🙂
Riding in the rain was never so much fun.... mostly because I was watching you doing it. The drone footage in the gorge was..... must resist obvious wordplay.... must res ist... wonderful, really special. Also, the orchestral soundtrack... mmmmmmm. I think your videos are just getting better and betterer.
Nice weather in Norway was invented in 2017 and takes a lot to implement, so it's not as widespread when you get further north. Looks like a great ride despite the rain. If anything it makes things more genuine and "trollsk" as Norwegians sometimes say. I need to plan such a trip when I have the funds....
Trollsk! 😁 It definitely feels like the word fits! Completely understandable that they’re taking a while to pump the good weather to all corners. Especially with corona supply chain issues apparently still hanging around!!
@@AndyManCam , thought it was more you guys, good vid again, this remind me of my only to date, Norway tour, it rained cats and dogs on day 3, but it was still fun..........
Glad to hear that and totally understand. Even when it was tipping it down, we still both had smiles on our faces! Well, maybe me more than ian due to his super old tyres! 😂
Runa, "off she goes" finally quit from all the bad weather she has had continually. When you ride with someone else you have support to keep going. But I hate the rain and the cold. She just finished going through her country of Norway and going into Sweden. She just gave up yesterday and going home. So sad. By herself. 😞 What, no stupid music video and no talking. My kind of videos. Thanks.
Yeah i can understand that. Although I’ve had some very bad weather solo trips and I’ve always managed to keep the spirits up and enjoy it for what it is. That said, if you’re camping then days on end of crap weather is simply tortuous. 😩
Possibly a bit wetter up by the coast there!! The gloves are KEIS and although they are ‚waterproof‘ after this days soaking, they had absorbed quite a lot of water. So although my hands didn’t actually get wet, per se, the wetness of the fabric was affecting their ability to really keep my hands warm 100%. So waterproof yes, long term soaking suitable, possibly not.
@@AndyManCam looking to get some heated gloves for winter riding..... the heated grips on the BMW are hot enough but i find that the back of my hands gets cold while my palms burn up
It was absolutely brilliant Paul. We rode for about 4 hours in the rain altogether that day, I think. I got wet feet (boots fault) and a tiny bit of damp in the crotch. But seeing as I didn’t zip the jacket and trousers together and it’s not happened since, i think the water was rather channelled in than got through the trousers! All in all, it was exactly the right gear and performed admirably despite incredibly changeable conditions. Vents open in the heat, thermals in and vents closed in the wet and cold. We really had everything covered. Ian had a problem with a couple of seams fraying by the end of the trip, but his entire suit was exchanged under warranty without an issue. 👍🏻
@@AndyManCam Good to hear! I recently did a full day in the rain and my Dainese GoreTex jacket and D-Dry Pants failed miserably. lol I'll start saving up for some Rukka gear! (or put on some rain gear)
@paultaylorduke That’s a real shame. Sorry mate! You know that if they failed because the waterproofing wasn’t working, you have a lifetime guarantee from Gore-tex? But I’ve been out many, many times in day long rain, and I’ve only gotten damp where I’ve forgotten to close something properly or i was to lazy to get the storm collar out!
Tremendous! I went back to Norway for a week and had zero old man aches or pains! Even after several 500km+ days. Sadly some numpty rear ended me last week so I’m waiting to find out how bad the damage is 🤦🏻♂️
It’s considerably cheaper than a Garmin or TomTom. But nevertheless, i will be selling it. It’s really good, in the right scenarios. But as soon as there are more complicated junctions, things get very erratic and hard to accurately follow. It’s also very easy to accidentally put waypoints in people‘s driveways and sometimes the re-routing that you get if you miss a turn is astonishingly dumb.
@@AndyManCam Love to hear your thoughts. There is nothing like a big chunky tomtom showing you a map, hehe Thank you for replying buddy, have a great ride!
@@AndyManCam that is the exact reason i like a dedicated GPS with a map on it...... you generaly get an idea if the GPS is taking you on a "shortcut" off the main road and also realy helpfull when you are giving it the beans on an unfamiliar road as you can see the approaching bends.... been caught out more than once by a blind bend that sharpens mid corner 🤣
Beautiful country even in rainy weather 🌧️☔❤️
Can't argue with that! Sometimes a bit of moisture brings out the moody side of a place! 😉

Thanks very much Marko. Yeah i totally agree. Even in the crap weather, it’s still spectacular!
Ian still doing his best R2D2 impressions 😁😁
What can i say, he‘s got skills!!
Yeah, chucking it down with rain when I did the Atlantic Road, still the views were stunning and skin is waterproof
