- After sorting out the accomodation 'confusion' we spent a delightful evening at Nesholmen Leirstad, on the banks of Emhjellevatnet and woke up to a sky full of rain!
But thanks to our armament of full Rukka Kalavesi laminated suits and a positive attitude, we hit the road, heading further south.
Today's ride involved a long and winding meander through Vestland and pretty much all of the fjords, waterfalls, lakes and mountains that the area had to offer! Astonishing sights seem to have no end in this country!

Another visual cacophony of excellence. What an utterly stunning tour. Re 'our' Avon Spirit ST (new set just fitted to the VStrom). Sadly the factory in Melksham is due to close in December, all production moving to... I don't know, somewhere that's not our precious Blighty.
Great use of cacophony. Yeah i heard from an Avon employee that the plant is closing. That’s a really sad turn of events. Sadly they’ve given me the boot aswell! 😤

Got back from my European tour feeling a little jaded (only the last couple of days, unforeseen circumstances - enough said) been off bikes for a couple of weeks.... Just watched your last two end to end - planning my next already... Love spending time with you on such fantastic roads in that wonderful scenery...
I was last in Norway 38 years ago. Can't wait to go back!! The most beautiful country with the nicest people I've ever been to. Great video chaps.

Totally! Best thing is to stay relaxed all the time! TBH as long as you’ve got the bike upright and straight, there’s not too much that can go wrong. You may notice that I pretty much always stand the bike up for a split second, if the cattle grid is in or after a bend.

15:00 in when you went up the climb and onto the plateau with with road unrolling like a long piece of string into the distance. Epic. Bleak in winter though.

Truly epic. I can fully imagine the bleakness in winter though. Probably with its own beauty somehow though? I’m actually not missing the CB1000R. The KTM really is the bike that i should have gotten in the first place.

Envy is fair! 😉 The first trip has actually already happened! Just waiting til i get this series finished, then 5 days in Gran Canaria on a Desert X and THEN the Norway TET trip from May will be hitting the Screens!

I cant recommend it enough. I went back in may on my 1090 and it was definitely the better bike for the trip.
@@AndyManCam I just parked mine in the garage after almost 200 km this afternoon. I like the 1090 more and more. Even when it's raining cats and dogs. Will re-coat my orange crash bars soon though.A bit more black. Looking forward to see your Norway trip on the 1090.
Me too mate. It’s a truly awesome machine. I had a couple of 500+ kilometer days on the Norway trip and it was easy!

Wow, started watching your stuff a few years back because I bought a Versys and you had some interesting garage movies on the Versys. It's great to see how pretty the movies have gotten (and my Versys is still just a piece of junk 😂)
I'll be driving to Norway on it in a few weeks though, it's cool to watch this beautiful series in anticipation to that. Keep up the good stuff!
Thanks very much for hanging around so long! I'm VERY glad that you can see a difference in the vids and even more so that you approve of the changes! Don't ever think of a bike as a piece of junk, if it's the one that you want and the one that faithfully takes you everywhere you want to go!! One of my biggest regrets was buying in to the new bike hype. It just brought exponentially more cost, more anxiety over damaging it and ultimately no real increase in grin factor! I'm certain I'd still be making the same videos, even if I still had that old Versys!!

Another great video and I am really enjoying this tour. Norway is definitely on my bucket list from the UK in the coming years. What month did you visit and can I ask roughly what you were spending per day for food, fuel, accommodation, etc. Ride safe 👍🇬🇧
Cheers Darren. I’m planning to do a financial round up vid at the end, but we were spending about 40-80€ on accommodation, about 20€ on fuel and around 30€ on food per day. Obviously all shared between 2. In total we spent just over 1000€ each for 14 days, including the ferry over.

Thanks Matt! Yeah I considered sticking some kind of subtitle in there to explain, but then thought I'd leave it for the story to unfold on it's own! I haven't replaced the F2, it's still sitting in a drawer, feeling sorry for itself. Instead I've fully switched to the DJI Osmo Action 3 with a mic plugged straight in. The Gopro's days are therefore also numbered!

All excellent stuff as per usual AMC but I've come to the conclusion through watching these videos that touring Norway is not my cup of tea. However, I still look forward to watching the rest of the tour. 👍. Really missing the AMC theme tune in 😔

@@AndyManCam Some of the scenery is truly spectacular but I get the impression that a lot is 3/4 or single track roads (which I dislike) with a tunnel of trees interspersed with openings that reveal a glimpse of picturesque scenery. The higher elevations just look bleak to me. I'm also adverse to the NC500! 😱 Being a "what's next" type of person there is an element of paradise monotony with lake after lake and waterfall after waterfall for several days on end - definitely a pampered first world problem!!! And to cap it off, I can do overcast, wet and generally not warm in the UK for most of the year! 😁. I fully appreciate that I'm in the minority and as I said it's all excellent stuff and I look forward to watching the remaining videos.
@@AndyManCam P.S. watched your touring playlists a couple of times and am currently working my way through your second European tour. For me this type of scenery/touring is much more to my liking. Per Wassberg's touring videos of Spain are up with the best.
I completely understand what you’re saying. I’ve even thought while editing the vids that it’s possible the episodes are becoming somewhat repetitive. All i can say against that is that in real life I was constantly wowed each and every time we crested a hill, entered a valley or circled a Fjord. It simply didn’t get boring and i don’t think you can really ever bring that across with CZcams videos. Well i can’t at least!! 😅 But makes total sense that it’s not going to be everybody’s cup of tea. Life would be boring if we all liked the same stuff! Thanks for watching the older series again too BTW! 🫶

Sadly that can’t be helped. Most of the bike noise from the external mics is just wind noise and truthfully, a lot of what we talked about was painfully uninteresting! The musical sections are simply an integral part of these travel style videos. I guess you can’t please all of the people, all of the time!
