    Good to have a recipe for the sauce but honestly I typically use a bottled teriyaki sauce (Yoshida's) and it's pretty good. A food cart near me also has sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, and thai peanut sauce available to drizzle over the top of their yakisoba for some extra flavor, so we're now hooked on always having those too when we make it at home. What I really like about this dish is you can add as many extra vegetables as you like and it's a great way to eat more veggies for people like me that are not a big fan of them. I typically add bean sprouts, red bell pepper, chinese pea pods, and cilantro. YMMV.

    I got hooked on yakisoba when I lived in Japan. Those Maruchan, pre-made, oil-covered noodles in the bag are the bomb! I can't get them where I live - no Asian markets - crocodile TEARS running down my face! I have to improvise with ramen noodles. Still nice, but just not the same. Ready for a shock? My favorite yakisoba is made with sliced hot dogs. Tonight we are having yakisoba with chopped chicken. Thank you for taking me back...

My Hibachi place unexpectedly shuddered before the pandemic. The owner was from Micronesia and he gave me his Yum Yum recipe. In turn he wanted spicy rice which I did two versions, am really a baker and he said no sweet tooth. My Yum Yum doesn’t taste like his😢. The man really put love into his dishes, cause times he was off the other dude cooking good just not great. It’s 6:30a.m. could eat a dish of this right now. Lovely presentation 👏!

    The ketchup had a higher flavor overall(followed the instructions in order).

    So, in Japan, they use ketchup in their sauce? I’ve always wanted to know the authentic taste. In fact, the noodles set that you use has that authentic taste but I never knew it was ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. I’ll have to try it. Obviously using their packets will give it the correct taste but I’ll have to try it without and see. Thanks.

    The onion and carrot have different cooking times... Do you undercook the onion slightly, or overcook the carrot? My guess is leave the onion slightly raw to avoid mushy carrots. Thanks for sharing!

    • @thebackyardhibachi
      @thebackyardhibachi  Před 5 měsíci

      This can be addressed 3 different ways when stir frying. Cook the ingredients in stages, precook the vegetables with longer cook times or by prepping each ingredient different sizes accordingly.

    • @jordanbabcock9349
