Just a reminder, it's not impossible to make a warp jump, reach your destination but in real time your ship hasn't even left it's starting point despite your ship being at their destination, you can effectively go back in time
If this is in the milky way, and the astronomical has a 500k LY range then it should cover the whole galaxy and many satellite galaxies....
The correct range is 70 kLY. Not 500.
I was just scrolling down to see if someone already corrected this.
Nice work gumshoe.
Icarus, I was about to comment the same issue about the galaxy's size. Very well noted.
Why you gotta be all dangerous warp
Not a single Fact about Gellar Fields?
DIY warp travel!! (10 easy steps!!) cool experiment!!!
Warp travel is crazy
Just like Minecraft. Any diatance you travel within the nether takes you to a much further away location in the overworld.
Warp space in warp space in SPACE! Black Templar's For LIFE! Emperor Protects! More on 13th Crusade pls!!
Could you do a "40 Facts about Tyranid Bio-Titans"?
The Warp is a crazy looking day
How Astronomicon, artificial construct from the future, can have radius of 12.5x older than signals from Terra of 40k universe? 😂
forty facts about Cerberus or Loken
this was excellent - would also like to see one about how Necrons travel
No info basically, the InertiaLess drive was dumped and is no longer cannon.
Now Necrons have some kind of reliable fast travel in real space (much slower than warp travel but still faster than light, probably) and use Dolman Gates of webway for long travel.
@@magearamil8626 not like they are in a hurry anyways xD
is it possible to do a warp jump in the middle of a battle as an evasive maneuver?
I have wondered for some time why they haven't made other Astronomicans across the Galaxy on other Imperial planets. I understand one reason being the (edit: Eldar) attacking it and destroying it before it is completed. But what is another reason?
well there is a high cost of maintaining one, But also I think it require the aid of the Golden throne and the Emperor of mankind. Nothing the Emperium have spares off.
The Astronomicon being effectively powered by the emperor is a big reason. Only one emperor, and even then his power alone isn’t enough so the imperium sacrifices 1000 psykers a day to provide more power to the emperor to keep the astronomicon operational. I would guess another reason would be that it could be considered heresy to believe that the sole guiding light of the power of the emperor of mankind is inadequate.
Could you please make a video "40 factcs about Primarch Lorgar" is a very important Primarch... thank you. THE EMPEROR PROTECTS.
40 facts about gravial liken of cebrus
It’s like hyperspace with Star Wars with hyperspace and real space
Darth Derp just adding some chaos gods and demons
It’s like hyperspace but it’s hell
2 weeks of times for crew for 4 light years of travel, nice impressive speed. It is approximately 105 TIMES the speed of light, holy COW and Emperor!
For the outsider it is few weeks to few years, right? So less impressive, but considering 1 year for 4 light years it is still 4xLight Speed travel! Nice!
I think it's more like 100X light speed for outside observers and about 10 times faster for the crew.
Question: how fast is the necrons inertialess drive versus imperial warp travel versus eldar webway travel? How would inertialess drive change the imperium considering how many ships and troops, resources etc. are consistently lost in the warp, even Astartes vessels, and now with the dimming of the astronomicon?
It is much slower than Warp Travel
HERE AND NOW
How do they secrefice the psikera to power the astronomicon ?
***** ahhh thanks :) pryse the God Empire !!!
As far as I remember, it is almost this way. The thousand psykers chorus is used to shape the energy into a coherent signal, but the raw power itself comes from the golden throne. The Emperor is the battery and the psykers are the hardware modulating the signal. But anyway, yes, they die in the transe required for doing this, what demands more and moreover psykers from black ships.
So to all of who know Star Trek and all that. The Warp basically to us Trekkies is Fluidic Space....Species 8472 is a Warp Species!!!! THE BORG TRIED TO INVADE WARHAMMER UNIVERSE!
You get to meet your inner demons
umm I thought the Eldar got warp gate technology from the old ones...
Advo That's the Webway, it's something else.
How Do other Species travel and navigate the warp?
Like Orks for example, or minor space bound races.
Presumably they can't use the Astronomican like Human Navigators do.
i think the orks are too primitive to warp travel (their ships are literally junkyards)
but they said at the beginning of the video that regular warp travel can only be done in short jumps, the Tau for instance have been limited in their expansion because they lack psykers to have as navigators
knightofficer i know about the tau.
i know about the imperium of man, i know about the Tyranids , and i know about the Elder.
Orks are the most wide spread spices in the 40k universe, they wouldn't be so widespread if they couldn't get around. yet i have found no information about the way the travel in space.
Tau don't have psykers so they can't make warp jumps, but they have lots of allies.
the Nicassar are psychic xenos who live only in space... but oddly they can't warp jump either. that's odd, and never fully explained why.
the Demiurg are also a race of beings who live in space... how do they travel in space?
the third space bound species allied with the tau is Ji'atrix, witch nothing is know about them bedsides the fact they live in space.
do they all travel by space dives like the tau and humanity during the dark age of tecnolagy? I found no source to confirm or refute this assertion. the Tau can be psykers, but they have psyker allies, including human Gue'vesa's, so there is no reason they couldn't use them to warp jump.
lastly another issue that is never addressed, why aren't there any Kroot psykers, they can absorb the attributes, just give them some Human psyker's to eat, put them on a Tau spacecraft, install some warp drives taken from some human spacecraft they destroyed, and warp jump into the heart of the imperium.
So the question that must be asked, are only humans able to make warp jumps, they aren't the only psykic species in the 40k universe, why wouldn't there be other warp jumping races in the milky way galaxy?
.
Gad Yariv psykers are only needed in order to navigate during long range jumps, a psychic presence is not needed for short range warp jumps
knightofficer the short range jumps are called warp dives. longer is better then shorter..
that may be, but you need psykers in order to navigate the treacherous eddies and currents of the warp, as well as the Astronomicon to guide your path, the other races do not have these things (except the eldar)
The correct answer about warp speed is yes... And occasionally oh god no.
what? 1000psykers a day? How can they fuel that constantly? Arent they rare?
Rare. But the imperium has over a million worlds
Why hasn't a unification wars game been made yet?
Or horus heresy
500,000 Light Years? This is WAY larger than the Milky Way. Think you may have meant just 50,000 LY
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milky_Way
oops - saw someone picked up on this earlier
So it's possible to lengthen lives if people lived in the warp since time slows down in there... Hmmmmm
Dragonpunch903 903 Im pretty sure it can be a double edged sword because I think I remember that Horus went into the warp to find knowledge and while everyone in real space says it was only a few seconds Horus has came out visible older.
Like enders game. And actually relativistic stasis is not only possible, but inevitable by our current scientific models.
Time in the warp moves, bends and breaks at random. You could die of age in a fast pace while also going back to your infant state at the same time. Or see parts of your body wither with age while the rest just stays as it is. I am willing to bet that there is also a very slight chance of you turning into a god instantly as soon as you enter the warp ... the propability is as high as an omlette turning back into an egg when stirred - it's theoretically possible ^^
See chaos marines. At the end of millennium 41, some of those present at Horus heresy still around.
so how about 'extinct' animals that walks through terrestrial warp gates as basis for many cryptid sightings?
request for clarification. since traveling in the Warp is a form of curvature of space time, if the Star Trek spaceships or other shi-fis at will, were to travel in the Warhammer galaxy, would they enter the Warp? would their minds be subject to the gods of Chaos?
Adriano Sebastianutti In Star Trek, Warp Drive works on a different principle than Warhammer 40k. Starfleet Warp Drives bend the fabric of spacetime to allow them to reach their destination faster then light, whereas The Warp in Warhammer 40k is a completely different dimension, that ships have to enter in order to go FTL. Kind of like Hyperspace in Star Wars, but scarier. So no, Starfleet ships would not be able to enter the Warp, because their technology doesn’t work in that manner.
Epic Romulan So if the navy of the imperium, for example, SI found in the "universe" Star Trek would use the Warp? This would mean that the power of the Gods of Chaos covers the universe. However, I believe that Star Trek races can be corrupted by chaos, especially telepaths
Epic Romulan If you do not disturb, you could tell me the skills of the shields of the Enterprise, I'm trying to make a comparison between various sci-fi universes that I like, I would do it, if possible, in the most logical and relational way possible. A little like Spock would do. I started to cover some episodes but I see that it is not easy. Thanks in advance
Adriano Sebastianutti Well I’m no expert, but I do remember that the Constitution class Enterprise supposedly had shields that could withstand a barrage of 90 photon torpedoes, although this does seem to get contradicted on occasion in later series. My theory, based on what I’ve seen, is that kinetic weapons like torpedos would have a harder time getting through the shields whereas energy weapons like Phasers are far more effective. Torpedoes do seem to be used more commonly against unshielded targets, or ships whose shields are weakened or down. One thing to note is that before the Dominion war, Federation ships appear to be completely devoid of armor, so they rely pretty much entirely on their shields.
Adriano Sebastianutti Well, In the Star Trek universe, the closest thing to the Warp would be subspace, which works in a similar way when it comes to FTL, and is used by more advanced species like the Borg. If any Imperium ships were to enter Star Trek’s reality, they might not have access to the Warp, but they could potentially use their Warp Engines to enter Subspace. Unlike the Warp, however Subspace is uninhabited, and much easier (comparatively) to navigate. So unless the Warp exists parallel to all reality in The Multiverse (which world be pretty epic, in my opinion) the Chaos gods would by unable to influence being living in the Star Trek universe. Though the tables would turn, should a Starfleet ship enter the Warhammer 40k universe. Say, the Enterprise D for example. The Enterprise would easily be able to travel faster than light without having to enter the Warp, but they would still be at its mercy. Or lack there of. And yes, telepathic races would be much more heavily effected. I think the Betazoids, who are empathic as well, would probably lose their minds.
Wow these travel times are insane, sorry emprah but maintaining this empire sounds like it would never have workded. Even without all the xenos and traitors trying to rek it.
well....it is pretty much cannon that the empire isnt *really* being maintained all that well
Have Humans ever tried to colonize the Warp? Say in the days before The Age of Strife?
***** I bet the Marines and Sisters would Love that much purging.
Dont think so they cant even colonice the eye of terro
Sounds extremly hazardous, and a hassle. You might also as mentioned, lose time in it, or drift away to become completly lost.
The only point I could see with it would be if it made the colony harder to find and or attack. but it seems to be a really bad idea.
If I'm not mistaken, before the Age of Strife, The warp was actually pretty calm. So I doubt daemon worlds where a thing. The Age of Strife and all the warp storms came about for several reasons: Birth of Slannesh, the war against the machines that once served humanity, and the emergence of human psykers. Basically the Age of Strife is when humanity went down the proverbial crapper and was saved at the end by the God-Emperor of Mankind.
