P950 VS P1000 Which Should You Buy ? Stafford Fuhs
Quick Video giving an overview of these 2 or 3 cameras
P950 Size Weight Price Advantage
P1000 Zoom advantage
As a birder and using it as digital notebook, I considered the two models. I had used two P610s to destruction.Loved their compactness and zoom. So jumping to a larger piece of kit was a big leap. After much thought I went for the P1000 . It was a review model, so it was cheaper than a new 950
I am glad I did. You get used to the bulk, infact I leave my scope at home, so one less thing to carry & use the camera as a scope. Really enjoying the capability of this bridge camera. It goes everywhere with me. Just returned from a 14 day trip and pleased I had it.
excellent glad it worked out for you !
Thank you so much for this review. I've been looking for a good comparison everywhere and this is by far the best.
RF you bet. Thanks for watching !
Your videos are honestly way better than a lot of big CZcams channels - hope you get a lot more subscribers! I think I am going to pull the trigger on the P950. Personally I don't see my self buying these cameras to literally push the optical zoom to the limits, not to mention the heat radiation that distorts the image as you zoom further does deter me from getting the P1000...even the P950's zooming capabilities are far more than what I will need but definitely seem worth having. Great video!
Ruby, thanks again for watching. Yes heat distortion is big with these long lens cameras. Always nice to have thou.... Take care !
i just bought a P1000 to go with my Z50 24mm-200mm. Love them both. Got the best of both worlds. I shoot wildlife and landscapes in the wilderness of Canada. No matter what you buy there is always something better but these two are everything I need. love your channel.
So tru my man ! Thanks for watching !
Got a new P950 for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Perfect for birding!! Also got the sunshade. Did not want the heavier P1000 for slogging through the woods and marshes. Thanks for your review!!!
You bet merry Christmas !
Hey Brian, can you let me know which settings are you using for birding with the P950? Are you using a tripod?
I’m deciding between the P950 and the Sony SX70, but I’m not sure which one would be better
@Liliana Tura Project I'm trying to make this decision myself, and thinking between these two I'll probably spend the extra $$ for the P950! Stafford has another video where he compares the P1000, P950, SX70 against several other super zooms. It was done a year ago. If you haven't seen that one you might want to check it out. It was very helpful to me!
@@djbosnick1072 thanks! I’ll check that. I think I’ll do the same 😅
I've always wanted the P1000 ever since it was released. The sheer size of the thing is a bonus as far as I'm concerned. I suppose I've always been of the opinion that 'big is beautiful' I shoot with the Lumix FZ330 at the moment and in the three or so years since I bought it, it has never put a foot wrong! I love it, AND with the iZoom and the digital zoom switch on I can reach 2400mm! I also have a Nikon D90 which I absolutely love too, but if ever I was in the market for a new camera, especially a Superzoom it would be the P1000. Thanks for the video.
You bet ASH!
I have a p950 and I'm happy, thank you for your videos. Greetings from Poland.
Much thanks and nice to have people from other countries view my videos. Thanks again !
I've had my P1000 for almost 2 years. A great camera, I don't mind the size and weight. Worth every penny.
Well said!
Do you get sharp pics on zoom?
I have one and fully agree with you!
This is the first time I've watched one of your video's and it was a very well thought out and informative video.
I have two P900s and had a P1000. I sold the P1000 because of the weight and size but I sometimes regret selling it.
I had my two P900s serviced but one P900 that fell two foot onto carpeting is on life support. My other P900 works but has been used a lot.
I'm considering whether to but the P950 or continue using my P900 and buy the P1000.
Tough decision.
Again, a good video.
Best of luck in your photography journey.
Duane
P900 still holds it weight against the newer cameras. Thanks for watching !
Thanks Stafford! I've been on the fence as to which super zoom to get. I had narrowed it down pretty much between the P950 & P1000. So, after watching your video I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the P1000. The extra weight seems like a non-arguement, after carrying around three bodies and a big, heavy backpack full of expensive glass in my younger days shooting for publications 30 years ago. Ane that STILL only got me to 800mm with a 400mm f4 and a doubler, which was not all that sharp when stacked like that!
ohh man you got that right ! People complain about the p1000, try the other stuff LOL !
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Yeah! My camera backpack was around 35-40 pounds, plus tripods, etc. ant that only got me to 800mm MAXIMUM!! Plus, it was around $12k!
@@JillandKevin Yea I do not have that much energy lol. Takes alot to do that stuff.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Man o man does it ever. And then add in your big pack with tent, sleeping bag, food, clothes, etc, and you' up to 60 or 70 pounds! Hard to believe I actually used to do that!!
I have the P1000. Shot from the tower on Anakeesta to the Gatlinburg space needle. Those I've shown the results, well... reactions vary from "wow" to "that's creepy". I agree.
lol
Right tool for the right job 👍 I'm always impressed to see what you can do with a Super-zoom camera, an inspiration fo those of us not on super budgets.
Bruce much thanks. The super budgets is definitely in mind. All this gear is expensive. Take care.
Great info! Thank you so much! from Canada
Thanks again for watching @!
Thanks for this review. I have a B500 with 40x zoom but when I choose the bird watching mode or in auto mode, i only get a 440mm zoom, not 900mm. That’s reserved for moon mode. How about the p950 and p1000? Do you get the full 2000mm or 3000mm for bird watching mode? Also, another reviewer hated the p1000. He said it was impossible to focus. How do you feel about the focus? And are you able to hand hold these two cameras? Thanks so much. I’m considering buying either a p900, p950 or p1000.
Hey see some of my rabbit video that is hand held see what you think. Those images are handheld. I do not want to be rude but many reviewers just do not have much skill in photography. I am not trying to be a jerk just remember you have to put the time in with these cameras. I do not shoot bird mode but I do think it is 3000 and 2000mm. If you watch my other videos you can get better results than bird mode if you follow my instructions on settings. You can also watch my Prairrie chicken video most of the images are shot at 3000mm on a tripod kind of hand held. Hope this helps.
Hi, I am completely confused what do I have to pick. I saw a nice camera you’ve shown in the beginning of the video. I am at the amateur level so I guess I have to start with a nikon a1000. Or should I pick the p1000 or p950 as the first camera? Btw I really love zooming and these kind of photos like you showed in the begging.
Any of those cameras will work, depends if you want to be more portable or less ?j Want it to be in your pocket or a bag? All will take time to master thou.... Depends also on how much you want to spend ?? The a1000 is a camera with you all the time, the p1000 is much much heavier and limited to a dedicated bag.. ect. hope this helps.
Hey there! I have the p900 now....I bought this camera for photographing the moon and stars. (I do have some videos and photos on my channel of what I have captured with this camera.) The video used to work just fine on the camera but now, no matter what I do, I can't get the video to work anymore!! Sooooooo, that's a bummer.....I am trying to decide whether to get the 950 or 1000....I think the 1000 shows a bit more clarity for doing sky stuff. Not so much the weight and size, but like I said, my primary aim is getting great sky stuff. I do also like to try to capture birds especially hummingbirds from time to time also. I will likely buy one or the other used! Thanks for your video! (Still undecided!!)
Ha!! I watched tons of videos and it was obvious - I got the 1000!!! Woohoo!! I am sssssooooooo excited to get this! Thank you for helping me decide! 😉
got the P950. almost same price as the 1000 but i am glad i got the 950.
little bit more compact and the slightly lower zoom doesnt bother me at all. i went throught tons of reviews and watched test photos. the p1000 is alot older than the p950. but have same sensor. same buttons. same functions. p950 have newer software and the out of center tripot mount to balance it. i am very happy i got the 950 over the 1000.
the only thing i am not too happy about is the noisy sensor. even ISO100 this thing looks like a snowstorm. but i understand why. if they ever bring out a new model like P1500 with same zoom around 85 - 120x but with a bigger sensor and advanced noise reduction inside i would go for it!
No doubt keep away from sky shots and it is not as bad. Hopefully everything works out for you .
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE it does. love this cam already. and i can see all my neighbor girls in their windows lol 🤣
Nice video, I own a canon cropped sensor DSLR camera, I want to upgrade my setup for bird and wildlife photography but for that a minimum of 400mm lens is needed which is as costly as Nikon P 950,should I consider purchasing a new lens or this camera. What would you suggest?
mb this is a difficult question because I do not know your situation ? There are so many questions to ask yourself on what type of photographer you are and expectations and what you photograph animals wise. I am thinking of making a flow chart or diagram that helps in the decision process. For now all I can say is research my videos and see what jumps out at you. Are you more mobile ? Young ? camera weight does not bother you ? Do you hike long distance, price point on what you can afford ?
Great episode as always, thank you.
One quick question, I have the P950 and love it. Is it worth getting the A1000 as well? It is discontinued now and I have a last change to grab one before they are gone forever!
Very tough call you could always buy it and resell it if you do not like the camera. The A1000 to me has better image quality over the sx740 for sure but the focus is lacking in the a1000 so it is different method. If you need it to be fast the a1000 is not it. The image quality can be nice but the focus struggles. FYI.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Thank you 😊
So does the A1000 have slower focus than the P950 or is it about the same?
@@PhotoReactionVideos Much Slower and picky in low light.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE OK 👍🏻
Then I will be sticking with my P950 😊 It is slow compared to all my Pro Cameras that I have owned over the years but the portability, focal range, lens sharpness, and image stabalisation is well worth the effort to get a good image out of it.
I hope that the next update will include weather-sealing, phase-detect auto-focus and a backlit sensor. But I sadly doubt that this will occur as it will reduce Nikon’s Mirrorless Camera sales, but one can dream!
Thank you for the heads up.
Thank you!
Thanks for your review - Has the camera clean live video out? Can it run on external power? As a spotting scope will it beat anything in its price range - if it can run all day :) - .
So, the camera has a mini-hdmi on it. It also looks like it has a usb charging port. I do not know if this would be enough to keep it running while you use the camera. There is no additional power supply to run it while on, so the usb would be the only choice which probably could extend the run time but not power it totally. Hope this helps
Great video, need to upgrade from P900!
Thanks for Watching !
Leaning more towards 950 as its new and also almost similar zoom like 1000. I am interested in astrophotos mostly. What yall suggest
There very both similar so really about the same. If you do not need the 3000 mm then it is the same aside from the much larger size of the p1000. Thanks for watching.
I went with the 950 last week cause the difference in zoom isn't all that much in the end and for the difference in size and weight and Handling I think it's just as good...if not easier and more convenient to use. My a7iii is a better camera....but there is no substitute at this price point, for the zoom I'm getting. It's just a different kind of beast.
So True !
i made the same decision for the P950 (just upgraded from the B700). I backpack a lot and couldnt justify the extra size/weight of the P1000 for 1000m extra zoom.
@@sweetsweet3753 Solid Choice...
Can you test the P1000 at 2000mm vs the 950? Since lenses are normally less sharp at their extremes, that should in theory make the P1000 sharper not to mention the faster aperture will show fewer diffraction issues.
Thank you!
ahh I can already tell you that. The sharpness is about the same. Remember my P950 is really really sharp, I was surprised at how sharp it was. That said they are so similar. The differences are in color/contrast. As the zoom gets maxed out the color contrast changes a bit for the nikon p950 more. Larger the lens seems to hold a bit better color information but that can be touched up in post. For me the differences are with weight and use case as the image quality is so close.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE thanks for the feedback
I've narrowed my choice down to the p950 or Sony Rx10 iii.
600mm isn't ideal as I find I'm usually at 800+ using izoom. I find my current camera grainy and a bit soft after say 500mm(fz330)
The p950 would have the reach but looking at that Afro haired guys review (you know the one lol) his pics seemed a bit noisy at 900mm. But I think he went out of his way tbh to be negative about it. It does seem it can take good photo's if you try.
But with 600mm and 1 inch sensor I'm wondering if I could get decent pics with a pinch of clear zoom or a small crop on the sony .
With the fz330 using any amount of digital zoom or cropping ruins any photo.
I really like the p950 but I'm wondering how far you can push the Rx10 with crop and at what point does the p950 become too noisy.
Like at 800mm equivalent could the sony match the optical zoom of the Panasonic?
yes, I know the guy whom you speak of lol. he is use to high end gear that you do not have to work at as much. with that I have also wondered about the Sony pinch zoom clear versus the Nikon native zoom. my feelings with the clear zoom you can get away with 1.25 to 1.5 easy.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
I'd like to have a bit better image quality than what I have now but I'm also into getting animal and especially bird shots.
The other day I took some photos of a kestrel and at 600mm it was too far away and using izoom it looked terrible.
So in that case the Nikon would have been ideal.
I just can't decide. The sony is a lot of money and up to 600mm I'll be very happy. But if I end up not getting shots all the time I'll be sobbing that I spent so much money 😀
@@letni9506 I had the Sony 600mm for about 1 month. It is a lot of money. Yes overall under 600mm the images are better much better. The reach is what I have to have. You literally could buy a p950 and another camera. You could purchase the tamron 18-400 on a canon body and have a much better camera overall for much less money. Tamron, 18-400 with canon m50 adapter and you are at 600mm or close to it sense you get focus breathing.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE yeah it did cross my mind that I could get the p950 and a second camera for the same money.
I think i am actually leaning towards the p950. I do tend to have my camera up in the trees more than anything and 600mm rarely gets you close enough to many animals unless you stake them out.
Thanks for the replies.
What is the first smaller camera you showed before you spoke about the Nikon's.? Many thanks.
ahh that would be the a1000
Nikon a100 sorry for the confusion....
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Thank you so much. Great videos. Many thanks from the UK 🇬🇧😀
I like the p950. For better tripod hole placement
Yea the p1000 can be a handful and a bit front heavy hey ??
My Q is,does that extra 1000mm make any difference if you use it for deep sky astrophotography?
Not sure on that one ??
2:30 Is the P1000 manual focus only? Or does it have auto focus as well?
autofocus as well.
where did yiu get the hood lense for the p950
Amazon just look many different shapes and sizes to any liking !
I either missed or you didn't say which model you said was your choice of the bigger cameras. Was it the p1000 or p950?
ahh sorry If I was not clear. It is a choice option. If you want ultimate image quality and do not care about the p1000 much bigger size go with that camera. If you are moving around more go with the smaller camera as the p1000 is pretty big for hiking. Both have almost different use cases.
Your P1000 lens looks like could use a good cleaning . . . or maybe it's the lighting.
Good points about the cameras. I shot my P900 almost exclusively in Hawaii (I lived there for a while), but the lighting there is always good ... here, in Illinois, I'm back to shooting a DSLR (with a 70-200 lens) for most of my shots . . . but I still have the P900 with me for the 2000mm zoom. I'd move to a P1000, but I'm not sure I would gain that much. (and lose a few things).
One question . . . is having the RAW option in the P1000 worth anything? It's still a small sensor and post-processing tools these days can tackle the stuff that a few years ago would scrap a photo. Just wondering.
emillio, yes it is the lighting. Man any scratch, dust particle shows up crazy on this stuff. I usually keep my cameras clean. That said a side angle will show smuges on screens LOL !
So the raw helps from anywhere from 2 to 10% of image recovery. It is not mind blowing. Is it worth it for me not really. You mentioned perfect light. These camera really do need it. Raw helps some but man it is not like a full frame or medium format camera where you can raise it by 5 stops and expect noise to be only modest. I feel if this is a camera has to be spot on or no dice , what you see is what you get. Raw as only a ohh my lord I really want this photo. If you are printing raw can help with detail and quality and other post processing methods like Topaz AI or noise reduction as a final method to help out.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Thank you for the reply. I've been doing some earnest testing with my P900 in 'difficult situations' and, really, because I know the camera, I can get most of what I want out of it . . . but it's not the D7500 with my 70-200mm f/2.8.
What prompted me to look is the one thing I hate about the P900 . . . the viewfinder. For me and my eyes, it's difficult to use and I hate using the screen for composing shots (harder to stabilize the camera). The P950 has a better viewfinder (I read), same as the P1000.
How would you rate it when put next to a consumer DSLR? Close or still lacking?
Last week, I was set on selling the P900 and buying a P950 (I hate losing the GPS, but I can use the phone to record the location). The week before that, I was set to buy the P1000. This week, I'm asking myself why I'm upgrading. Next week? Who knows.
Thanks for your videos.
@@ejdalise hey thanks for watching and writing. So the viewfinder is much improved in my opinion one of the largest upgrades from the p900. Very close to my em5m3 Olympus. I would say totally Isabel and if I am correct 2.36mp Evf. The evf is one of the reasons why I upgraded to the p950. Yes p950 has better image quality, but the evf is night and day better in my opinion.
As always just my opinion, test before my buy. Hate to have u upgrade and not be happy.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Thanks, and no worry . . . I don't blame others for my decisions.

I have doubts between the two (P1000 / P950 vs 90D) I tested a 90D + 250mm and took the same distance from the P950 (2000mm) adding cropping to the image and with better quality. What do you think about this?
Rui very hard to say ??? So many variables involved. Raw, ISO, Shutter Speed, lighting, Handheld. All I can say is what works for you. We are now getting so good with equipment, digital zooms work well, IA gigabit enhancements and super cropping are now possible. Looking at my gear the P1000/P950 stands up very strong to much more expensive gear but that is only me in how I use it. Also, other times the P1000/P950 fall apart really bad. Low light especially. So we have to take all this into consideration. Sorry I cant give you a direct answer.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE, Thanks for the answer, I'm going to test the P1000 this week, I believe that the 90D + 600mm reaches 3000mm, the problem there is already double the price, lol... weight too! If the image of the P1000 is acceptable as I see it in the media, I prefer it, because the weight would also be smaller, than 90D + 600mm and much more practical, lol... A big problem here in Brazil, Nikon doesn't work anymore and if you have any problems, the repair is very expensive, having to import parts! Do you think the P950 being younger has a better image (color, sharpness) than the P1000?
@@rui7773 Both those cameras have a small but different character. The bigger P1000 has more color/contrast in my opinion due to the larger lens. The bokeh also look at my backyard birding video is a bit more because I am able to shoot at F4.5 rather than 6 on the nikon p950. So the larger lens lets in a little more light a little bit more lens opening that can translate to background separation. It is very small but you can kind of see it. I have the Canon SX70HS and the images out of that camera are good as well. I was going to make a video between the P1000/P950/SX70. Really in all this more than image quality the size of these cameras are the biggest determining factor on what I want to take into the field. Hiking up and down rocky terain, nope take the sx70, Mild hiking , take the p950, In a blind sitting still take the P1000. Hope this helps, your use case is so much more important than image quality. I hate having a big camera banging on my body walking all day long. Hence smaller camera is generally better for certain uses. Hope this helps.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE, Wow, thank you so much. I will take your information and tips seriously in my decision in the coming days. Whoa whoa whoa Stafford why did no one point out that the P1000 had a manual focus wheel before now? You're literally the first person to mention it. I've been digging through the internet trying to find the right camera for about 6 months now. I even posted on your videos asking for help choosing, and you told me that either would be fine. Well, I ended up getting an A1000 instead and I've regretted it since then. It's a fine little camera. Love the size, and for the size the zoom is great. But not what I need. Should have just taken your advice the first time. I think you may have just solved the problem for me! Also, to others who are looking: keep in mind that the original P900 does not have a AE lock button.
Hope things work out for you. These bridge cameras are more difficult to shoot with they do require more skill but due to costs and weight I think they are worth the effort.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Just ordered a P1000 on Ebay yesterday! So excited! Thanks for all your help and tips Stafford. You should come to Idaho and do some shoots. We have Sage Grouse and many other great animals. I think you would enjoy the scenery. Give it some consideration!

I am sure that you've noticed by now that this video is mirrored view? You turned the cameras into left handed versions 🤔
yes my new Samsung s20 video.
hello. should I prefer nikon p950 or fz82 in terms of general performance, can you tell me a little bit?
Yes, the P950 is in general slower in my opinion. The FZ80 has a bigger buffer and does not lock up as much as the Nikon P950 when shooting in bunches. The P950 in handling wins hands down as it has switches and dials everywhere. IT is also bigger so manual focus is really possible. In comparison they are both slow to DSLRs.... Hope this helps.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Is the p950 good only because the zoom range is too long?
@@tanertatltug5336 The camera buffer is more limited. You only get 21 jpegs and the camera locks up so you have to shoot wisely. Also the focus is not as fast if I remember in all zoom ranges. All these will work. The ISO performance is better on the P950 than the FZ80. Over 200 on the FZ80 and it gets out of hand really quick. The biggest question is do you need that much range ? The EVF is much better in the p950. Overall if I had to choose between the 2 cameras it would be the P950 for best all around performance thou. Zoom, dials, image quality.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Have you tried kodak pixpro az901 90x zoom?
@@tanertatltug5336 sorry I have not used that camera.
Can de tripod Vanguard Tracker 3 carry the P1000? (Specs: 18 lb = around 8 kg)
Yes no problem. The P1000 is only like 3.5lbs max I think. I have a cheap $135.00 tripod that holds it fairly well. Know I do not leave my camera gear on tripods unintended because of wind. I tend to get a way with using lighter tripods with point and shoots for sure.

@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE Thanks for your confirmation: try and see! Heavy camera: is more steady in wind than less heavy!! But needs good: feet indeed.
@@JitskeTrijntje lol yes indeed !

You bet !
Hello. Do u know why the P1000 is so much bigger than the P950 ?. I mean the camera doesn't need to be SO much bigger for slightly more zoom does it?
Well it is bigger but also there are aperture differences as well. So like at 1000mm you get to use or gather more light. I think with the p1000 it is f4.5 and the p950 is like f5.5 or more. So the bigger lens gathers more light. So even outside of the zoom difference there is more light hitting the sensor at say 1000mm so better bokeh and lower ISO just my thought.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE thank you taking the time to explaine. I currently use a Kodak 652 for airplane photography. Maybe one day I will progress to something with more zoom.
Thank you for the appature advice as that really will make a huge difference to the shutter speed which would make a large difference in blur. What a shame sensor tech seems to have stopped advancing in bridge cameras.

Hello Stafford it is not good to hear in your film that you been use the Nikon E 1000 even as the Panasonic Lumix G9 the camera i have. You said only E1000 and not nikon E1000. It is nice that a small camera can make the same picure s as the lumix G9. I also havbe the nikon P510 it is s old camera but it can also make good films only the focus is not alway good but is you make more pictures with is of not use the automatic or use a picture program afther making the pictures to change some things it also can have nice results with 42 zoom.
thanks for watching
Considering the P950, the P1000 is way to big for my taste. Wondering if you have any opinion on using a monopod with either of these cameras. Seems like a monopod might be a good light weight portable match for those big zooms.
definitely that or even a smaller tripod. It is difficult once you get out to 2,000 and 3,000 mm for still and video is even much more difficult.
Some very good points particularly with cost of lenses vs "point and shoot"
If they didn't have manual modes I would call them as such.
As many know, and as an FZ1000 user, I think bridge camera is a more accurate term as they have most features of an SLR along with what many consider an acceptable price to performance ratio depending on purposes.
I'd like to compliment the FZ with a P1000 but left wondering if a new model maybe imminent?
Matt, thanks for watching. Man I wish I knew that as well. What we do know is ALL the point & shoot / bridge cameras are getting pretty old and have not been updated for some time. SONY, CANON, NIkons 1 lens does all bridge cameras seem to be dying out. It has been a few years and not sure how much hype there is left for these cameras. Sadly it make more sense to these camera manufactures to push them up in sales to more expensive units like the RP with an 800mm lens and teleconverters. Your thoughts but this is just a guess.
I am not a professional photographer but I want to buy one of this p900 950 or 1000 bcoz I like it's zoom so which one should I buy. Other than these I don't want to buy any other
Really comes down to how much size and how much weight. Decide how big of camera you want to lug around.
@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE I don't care about weight just need good zoom
Best zoom so which one should I buy
@@stallone0 P1000 is the best zoom
Thanks again. P1000 it is then.
hello mr.
betwen P1000 and P950, which camera who have the best image quality ?

So close I can’t really tell the difference …. Almost identical.
what about video quality?
They pretty much have the exact same sensor and FPS/Data rates for video. The only thing that might change the look is the larger lens on the p1000. This is very small and most likely users will pick zoom range and size over image quality. Do you need the zoom or a smaller camera. If everything is equal or close to it you pick up slightly better bokeh and zoom range for weight and size.
I am owning D5100 with 55-300 for a decade. Yesterday my P950 got delivered. To tell you the truth I am quite disappointed with its picture quality. Sometimes I feel my Mi K20 Pro phone takes better photos than this. I was expecting reduced picture quality but not this poor. Moreover you can't edit nrw raw images in Lightroom.
Bhanwar, sorry to hear that. You might need a little inspiration on what can be done with the camera. I can not help you very much as not sure what you are shooting. That being said look around at other photos from this camera system and see if that is up to your standards. I do know you can not treat the camera like a DSLR you have to use the camera on its own terms. I am thinking of putting out a video on testing your gear right when you get it home from buying it. Hope this helps.
But, your previous camera set up cannot even take the same long distance photos... up to 400 mm or so would be better on the dslr version but after that there is no comparison to make as that kit cannot even take the same level of content or zoomed in shots regardless of how fine they look. Capture the moment and content of the photo at distance and then refine it after with raw adjustments or in camera tweaks or even use GigaPixel AI software to upgrade the 16MP of the photos for better clarity; that way you get the long distant shot you would have never gotten and also have a better version of it than what would come from the 950/1000 natively.

@Ponnu Ningalude kuttukari - Good luck to you. I love your passion for photography!!
@@mediamannaman thanks sir my name is "unni" can u sugest me a cam to buy in future
@@ponnuningaludekuttukari5553 Unni, it is very hard to suggest a specific camera for many reasons, but I will try to give some guidance. Most of the cameras today are really good. If you pick a well-known manufacturer (like Nikon, Sony, Canon, Olympus, or my favorite, Panasonic) you will get good quality. Since you are interested in bird photography it is good to get a lens with plenty of zoom. Lenses are very expensive, especially for cameras with big sensors, so it may be best to get a camera with a micro four thirds (M43) sensor or even smaller. I think that the Nikon a1000 camera that Stafford Fuhs showed in this video would be a good choice for you. It has a very good zoom range and it is more affordable than most cameras with that much zoom. Sometimes you can get good deals shopping for one that is used. If you want a camera with interchangeable lenses, then maybe go for an Olympus or Panasonic M43 camera and the Panasonic 100-300 lens, but that will cost more than the Nikon a1000 and the zoom is less, so it depends on your budget. Maybe others will add their own suggestions here. Good luck my friend!
@@mediamannaman thanks sir for helping me 👍👍👍👍🙏🙏
Hang in there I could not afford my first camera until I was in my 20s. Camera gear was super expensive in the film days and processing was expensive as well. It was not until digital cameras that the world of photography became more affordable but is still not cheap.
soooo..if i'm on a restraining order from my ex-gf the p1000 is the best bet? err...just asking for a friend. :p
Well use your best judgement lol !
