Great video! Thanks for going through all the steps! Not a bad job if you have the setup you have. I have a 2006 T660 Turbo Touring LE, 136" track. I'll probably have it done since I would have to try to do it on my portable lift. With that being said, the lift may be more in my way than helping me. Either case, all would be done crawling around on the floor. Great job!! 👍
I have done this a couple of times on a 1998 Skidoo Grand Touring. I estimate that this took me 6 hours to do. (There is a manual reverse on this snowmobile.) One thing that I have done in taking out the rear suspension is to remove the keepers for the large springs on both sides. This collapses the rear suspension, and makes it a lot easier to both take the rear suspension out, and put it back in.
Thanks for the Awesome Video!! I have a 2006 T660 as well but, it's a turbo touring LE. I plan on changing mine out in the spring of 2020, I'm sure the change would be similar. I have an unrelated question for you........ How do you properly torque your drive belt clutch sheave adjuster? 🤔 I can't find a way due to it opening up the sheaves while tightening. Thanks again..... Ray 👍😊
I'm pretty sure it's just locked in there by the pressure. You know you take that tool and spin it to adjust your sheaves and it just stays where it is as far as I know.
im working on switching a track from a 800 mountain cat 141 in track and putting into a 600 mountain cat I think that was a 136in can't remember since track broke off... can these tracks be interchangeable with each other? I tried getting it in over weekend but maybe I'm just not lining shit up right? any info would be appreciated !
Shoot sorry dude ! I guess i wasn't paying attention ! I got 4 kids so i guess my eyes and ears where elsewhere ! How do you like the Ripsaw Track ? I bought the Ripsaw II ! Nice Video !
Randy Barlow this is the only snowmobile track I have changed. I did not keep track of the time and I was also filming. I think generally you could figure it could take a day.
good thing your side panels come off or youd be fucked putting the bearing back on pto side.you always put your bearing together your bearing flanges both are to be in place with the bearing only thing you should have on shaft is locking collar THEN you put your drive shaft back in place.
This is by far the best video on the web for a track replacement. Great job and thank you.
I looked for a video before doing the job and couldn't find anything decent so I decided to make one.
Hands down the best "how to do" video I have ever seen!! Thanks a ton...
Thank you and you're welcome
@@NEILSWORLD do you have a email ask you a question about mine . I even pay you for your time
About to complete this on my 2005 T660. Thanks for the video!
Good camera angles! Thank you... great help.
Glad it was helpful!
Had to take the track off a 1999 zl600 today. This video was a huge help. Thank you.
Thank you, concise and good video shots of parts!

Hey Neil, when try to get the reverse gear off there appears to be a snap ring i need to remove first?
I would say if there is a snap ring there, remove it.
@@NEILSWORLD Thanks neil, i just loosened the tension on the chain and the entire gear came off. Thank You!
Would this be about the same process as changing the track on a 12 M1100 turbo? Going to do mine here shortly.
Sure, any track would be roughly the same process.
@@NEILSWORLD ok very good. Thank you
Awesome video ! Why did you change your track ?
+doobyboy21 At 10 seconds into video I say it came apart and you can see a 10" strip hanging down from the top inside of the track
Shoot sorry dude ! I guess i wasn't paying attention ! I got 4 kids so i guess my eyes and ears where elsewhere ! How do you like the Ripsaw Track ? I bought the Ripsaw II ! Nice Video !
+doobyboy21 No worries, The track is working out great. Thanks
+NEILVVT Instead of taking all the gears off, couldn't you have just loosened the chain tensioner and just take off the chain?
+INFINITE I suppose it might be possible to leave the top one on by loosening the tensioner. I find it easier to take the gears off.
How long you think it took you in total to do the job ?
I can't really say for sure but you'd probably want to plan on a whole day.
What is The Average time for doing this track swap???

Just finished doing my track... Damn I think I will never tackle that again !
+doobyboy21 Congratulations, the next time will be easier.
+NEILVVT I'll be putting a video on CZcams (in French) today ! You where my guide dude !
Glad I could help.

You don't need to touch the exhaust/inter-cooler do do this job.
