  • Had to swap out the chain case on the 2018 Mountain Cat because the piece holding the tensioner broke off inside.

Did mine back in Jan on 2012 XF. Def a pain in the ass. I bought a second hand inner case off a guy and it was not for the updated jack shaft. 🤣 few beers trying to whack on a bearing until it blew apart and cross referenced some parts. Good as new now tho. Bdx chain case guard might be in the future.

I just replaced the chain case on my Riot this fall, what a pain in the ass job. Makes me miss the old sleds, they were so much easier to work on.

I have a factory set of guards if you want them. but I recommend JPM guards for your disk and chain case.

Built my ultra BB 180hp triplet rocket, blew the case at Grizzly lake Brandy wine falls on a big climb. Blackcomb choppers hauled me out for $600, smoking deal. Fixed that with EVO upgrade then spun the crank after a huge jump. Welded crank, Tison m-10 159" Holtz front end from 04 vert escape, long travel fox airs, mikuni flat slides line bored 1mm for exact match, tuned to within 30 degrees of each other, Wildwood brakes, aluminum rotors the only way to tune is with EGT's. Then built the exact sled in a 800 twin for g/friend but electric start, kinda gaeh but gals right. Just finishing a 1500 monster.

Garbage chaincases did a 2017 zr7000 with 1200km this year. Cracks all over case, top bolt on cover broke off at seal. All bearings, gears, chains ect toast. Never again, goodbye kitty cat forever.

lucky to find some used, that way you dont have to play the backorder game with cat.

Since you have a drop and roll, and so you don't have to change your chaincase again when you hit a boulder, I highly recommend Jensen Precision Machining. Solid chunk of aluminum that's milled out for some awesome stout guards. I hit a 5 foot boulder and only came away with some scratches. If I still had the stock plastic pieces I would have been replacing a bunch of parts.
Oh, and the parts from a 2015 ZR 7000 SNO PRO RR (or any similar model) to convert to a manual tensioner before the auto blows up on you:
    2602-465 Plate, Ratchet
    2623-057 Washer, Sealing - Rubber
    2602-707 Spacer
    0123-150 Nut
    2602-735 Screw, Adjuster
    1702-400 Tensioner, Chain - Assembly
    [Re-use the spring, 2602-336]
    Love the vids BTW!
