  • There are 2 bolts that need to be loosened on the crank pulley Guard, Just Loosen them dont take them out. Then you will have the clearance to remove and install the belt. this MAY also work on other Husky 54 inch deck models.

You saved my sanity with that stupid clutch bar. Thank you!

Pull the clutch off it’s way way easier. Check Johnson’s garage

Hey boss great video. What size belt is needed to replace the hydro Drive belt? Is it 5/8” x 147”

How many belts are there on the 2654? I bought mine at Lowe's and the employees insist there is only one, but the one I bought there is 2 one extremely long belt for the deck blades, and a shorter one for the drive.

My lgt is very slow going uphill. Do you think getting a new drive belt would increase speed?

Yes, most likely. But it could be a transmission problem also

Something else could be worn. I'm have trouble too and didn't get quite the gains I was expecting from a new belt. Looks like the belt on mine is still a tad loose with brake disengaged and is slipping.

I would check the pulleys and air up the tires to proper PSI. One pulley was extremely worn on mine. Once the pulley and belt were installed it ran like a dream.
