To be fair in this test I would say that other half should be rinsed andnstay wet for the same time...
will do next, Thanks for your feedback.
exactly, and it would rinse of easy after being soaked even without any soap
I'll test that in a full length video soon stay tuned we'll find out@@joei4ever

And use a pressure washer. That's what you use in the end.
Prewashing is washing...
Prewashing is me sitting down, drinking a beer
😂😂😂

😂😂😂
I guess the correct term would be "prewashing washing" 😂😂
Pre wash or foam loosens the dirt and acts as a lubricant between the paint and the dirt. So that when you use your pressure washer to rinse it off you don't scratch the paint. If you use a pressure washer without lubricating the paint you're literally pushing the dirt into the paint at 1500 or more psi causing fine scratches.
Thanks for letting us know!
Haha!
It doesn’t scratch you moolie.
Yeah he right.your technically micro sand blast your paint.the psi from the water forces dirt and grit against your clearcoat and thats not good.
Lubrication doesn't make an abrasive less abrasive. For instance lubricants are often used to aid abrasives in industry.
However removing as much as possible prior to blasting makes sense.
As someone who has worked for a detail shop, pre-wash is a must. pre wash picks up any large particles that will scratch the paint when using a microfiber towel. This test is not perfect but enough to show the difference and its importance.
Spot on. I've been details vehicles in the UK for 30 odds years too. Bit by bit over time you will mess up your paint without a pre wash. You have been warned & told guys n girls.
Ya, this numptey didn't wash, difference between runner & wash. & normal people don't use a pressure washer
If you have enough pressure through a hose, it still helps prevent scratches. @kurtsudheim825
This is not a comparison of pre-washing versus washing this is a comparison of using soap versus just using water
WHAT DO U THINK PREWASHING MEANS
literally prewashing
This just in folks! Soap cleans things!
says the guy that uses dish soap
ph neutral soap does dick all at cleaning just sitting on the surface but its a soap right so it should clean ?🤡
@@Nfam0usI guarantee you cannot tell me why dish soap is a bad thing... you can use Google all you want and it still won't help u
I was looking at the car saying to myself how it looked mine during "warmer" days in winter time. Then I noticed the license plate; we're from the same province! 😂
Haha didn't notice the car plate, but his accent was enough!
How to actually do this test properly: Moisturize one side with an equal amount of warm water and use regular car shampoo on the other side, , let both sides be moist for an equal time, then rinse and compare the results to what pre-washing does.
Pure moisture will not not dissolve dirt. That is a plain fact. But it is good for demonstration purposes.
However, regular car shampoo will dissolve and loosen up the dirt, helping it rinse off of the paint.
The reason why proper pre-wash is ideal, is because it gets rid of the iron, oil and tar that can form on the car along with the dirt.
So yes, pre-wash is always a must for proper cleaning.
Of course pre-washing works!!! You better do it!
Lol it doesn't, just wash twice.
@@cheesycarrotsoup Lol you're dumb
Don't use a hose for comparison. Use a pressure wasser after the pre-wash, then we will see
well now you know who gets the credit for getting results
It wouldn’t be much different. It’s actually more dangerous to do that too, though.
@@MelloAutoDetail Dangerous? LOL
@@petrpohnan875 yes dangerous for the paint, without using a prewash and just using a pressure washer directly on the paint can make some of the rocks/dirt go straight into you paint
@@Callsign_Sturm that’s what I meant, without a prewash, a pressure washer Can push dirt into the paint
yes it does. I even use detergent dilute as substitute.
That's a comparison of prewashing and rinsing vs just rinsing 🤔
You answered the question Ive had for a long time in 20 seconds. You are the man!!
Excellent news! Thanks for letting me know
How do you ever was your car? Just with water?
@@komentatorius69soap water hand mitt
Pre washing is good if you only have a garden hose. If you have a pressure washer on hand, then prewash is next to pointless
With the nice roads we have in Quebec it will get dirty again but nice job 😂
hmmm...so one side had a detergent and the other only got water...amazing that the dirt fell off the side with the detergent. Afairer test would have been to use a high pressuer washer that dispensed soap on the other side. Then you would have had a true pre-rinse vs no pre-rinse comparison. Of course the detergent side is going to work better than plain water, that's common sense.
Detergent and soap are synonymous. What are you getting at? What kind of soap would you put on the right had side?
@@rflood you missed the entire point. I know detergent and soap are interchangeable. It's the fact one side has has soap and the other side only got water. Of course the side with soap is going to clean better. The point was you can't just say pre-washing works when it's quite possible that the right hand side would be just as clean if you had "soap" running through the pressure washer along with the water. A damn kindergartner can tell you that using soap vs just water that the water is going to lose.
@@ricmndy1lame point. You're saying exactly what the video is doing. He's showing why pre-soaking is better than just water. DUH
@ricmndy1 i have to agree with speterbilt on this one. You can't test soap versus soap. There's no difference then. You didn't answer my question, you just got mad and babbled on meaninglessly.
@@speterbilt it's not a pre soak it's just... Using soap???
Always pre-wash the vehicle before anythings else. It makes a world of difference.
The lights and the colors of the room make me think you’re washing your car in like your living room. 😝 Great comparison though!
The foam pump is much better than any I have ever used
The marolex axel foamer works for longer i use the ik for wheels since the pressure doesnt last👍
Yes I should get a marolex one day. Thanks for the feedback
What does this prove???
Cannot believe that shower hose removed so much the products dope???
That was on purpose to show the power of the foam applied on the left side. Thanks for your feedback, cheers.
You mean pressure washer, regular hose does not have that much pressure.
@@ilovepinktacosyou can hear it, doesn’t sound like a pressure washer.
@@ilovepinktacos
You ought to come test the water pressure in the UK, it's pretty vicious!
I think the most interesting idea is that not introducing more water to the solution might be beneficial provided that you have enough solution to cover the car. Perhaps some kind of contraption hooked up to an air compressor to avoid having to pump and get a consistent dispersal over the vehicle as compared to the typical foam cannon which seems quite wasteful of the cleaning chemicals.
I was fully prepared to see the beautiful color of the car emerge as you washed away a month’s worth of ‘urban camouflage’. But it was a surprise it was white.
🤣😂👌
It works and it works really well for rims
No cap. How hard was this video? All these "professionals " and "detailing masters" but no one wants to do a basic side by side
KC is becoming the new Chemical Guys
Pre-washing for me is me just sitting on the couch contemplating the task at hand. ;)
WOW! Pre-washing even seems to produce a number plate out of thin air!
this dudes going to flip out when he gets a pressure washer! 😂
gotta love city folk, always good for a laugh
What? I have no idea what you mean.
Wtf are you saying
If im waxing my car after wash then pre wash is solvent detergent, if not then some prewash that dont wash old wax away.
Okay but why it sounds like you were farting like crazy? 🤣🤣🤣
It's good for really dirty cases but it's mostly to get the big stuff off to keep your paint nice
Koch Chemie never disappoints.
Exactly. more KCX coming thank you
@@Detailing_Dogma fyi: koch means literaly cook and you have to spell the CH like the begining from the mexican names Jesus or Juan or just listen to Google Translater in German❤😮
I always cringe when english speaking folks say kotch or coke.
Can you say Loch Ness? 😅
Introducing any lipids to a surface will loosen dirt layer or oils; so yeah will make a big difference
You're a Lipid 😁
Wow I didn't know that washing a car actually makes it cleaner, incredible!
as a german it is too funny how you pronounced "koch Chemie" hahaha😂
I pre-rinse(just hose no pressure washer), let dry, then foam, let dwell 3-5 mins, then rinse, then wash. Never once scratched the paint this way and it is the only way to get truly clean paint without scratching imo.
You can even use caustic soda to clean that surface if you aren't bothered about rust
“Does using soap&water clean better than just water?” That’s the gist of this clip.
I live way up a dirt road and my car gets washed when it rains and the rain does a mighty fine job, no pre wash needed
So soaking something in soak and waiting is better than just rinsing the dry dirt with water? AMAZING, OH MY GOD
Le hatch de ma golf est toujours sale de même en hiver, c’est incroyable
You mean when it rains? Yes, it kinda works.
So next time i need to tell those foreigners to let that foam sit a few minutes? Cos they was it straight off.
That Klau Khalash foam definitely seems to work. Should have added crab juice to the other side so they were both wet for the same amount of time though.
I would like a bone.
Man what is that washer? I want one
What sprayer is that. Been looking for something similar to that
IK Foamer
Wow. Is that how soap works? Someone didn't go to school to even question this process.
Oh wow. The side that had a detergent surfactant came out cleaner. What a shock.
Depends if your scrubbing it then pre wash would get rid of most of the bits that will scratch the paint but if that’s just spray on and leave then great stuff
Mr. Krabs walking crazy
Well no shit. Does putting soap on something dirty make it cleaner??? Wow!! Amazing !!!
Yo big ça va, content de voir des gens québécois dans mon feed
merci pour tes encouragements mon ami sa fait plaisir.
Prewashing the car with a touch less wash kelps removing large debris and prevent for majority of the debris to get off the clear coat preventing scratches or pushing the debris further into the paint
That's Montreal for your car... thanks for this quick test. I never wash my car during winter, maybe I should do this quick 10 min prewash when over 0 celcius (street parked)
Cheers
to sum this video up, using chems clean better than just water
“pre-wash”
Oh man spraying foam soap on makes it cleaner!
Funny that you had to check that 😅 more fair comparison if you wet the other side with plain water
I'm convinced, I wouldn't bother washing the car beyond the pre-wash!
I'm going through the traditional wash after the pre-wash, still highly recommend that you do that, especially with hard water you don't nt want to let the paint air dry.
So I guess i have been prewashing my hands while using soap... next thing you know I will be pre putting my shoes on when I put socks on 😂😂😂
Hell yeah you got the stuff that "pan the organizer" uses high PH stuff don't use that stuff all the time cuz it can remove your protecting paint coatings if use in every wash .so what you want to do is after doing the pre-soak rinse it off and you have to add some kind of snow foam or a type of foam that will help lubricate the surface when you're using yor wash mint. For extra layer of protection I also lubricate the wash mint with a shampoo with added wax from chemical guys . Then wax 🎉
Dawn dish soap for prewash is the best. No fancy cleaner bro
I’ll take that as a yes 👍
Mouhaha pretty much! Thanks for watching
Does the dirt act like protection and keeps people from leaning on your car
Imagine putting soap on your body without even turning on the water, that’s how I feel about pre wash
thanks for watching
Soap and pre-wash are not the same thing though, the main objective of a pre-wash is to soak the dirt and grime on the paint job.
So it can be much MUCH easier to soap it afterwards.
Yo, would like to see all the scratches on your clearcoat 😢 At lease pressure rince it
Exactly, I want to see a more accurate experiment. Try soaking the whole car with water then apply prewash on one side of the car. Spray it down and let’s see if prewash really works.
@UnlimitedEmeralds Soaking before rinsing does almost absolutely nothing, if you are so curious take your own car to self service and waste your time there. 😂
Is there any reason why you don't use pressure wash with foam lance?
Nope.. it's still a Golf 😉. Good tip about that sprayer tough.. I use that for my plants but I can also buy one to use on my Golf ..
What is the sprayer and chemicals used for the pre wash?
That spray bottle pumping sounds like me after Taco Bell
So you foam the car with the koch product, and wash it with your wash mit ? Or rinse off the foam then re foam then use your wash mit?
Wow soap and water works better than just water who knew
should you prewash before you wet the car? I pressure wash it with just water, snow foam, wash again, snow foam, mitten
Does the cost of whether or not it’s worth it include the affect of chemical down the drain versus elbow grease
We’re going to “pre board”…..
George Carlin 🤣😂🤣😂
For me pre washing would be rinsing the car whole with low pressure! If it’s that dirty I would do it 2 times then after that do the foam spray and let it react then rinse and then wash the car
What is the name of the pump and the super foam used in this video?
okay but what does it look like after washing both sides...
Spotted the French Canadian accent from a mile away.
Lâche pas! Super content de voir des gens de mon coin sortir du bon contenu! :-)

I notice you have water stains on Ur rear window...how do you get rid of that ?
Most of that dirt could come off with a garden hose lol yes pre wash helps with some kinds of dirt but not loose stuff on the top like in the video
I have come to perfect my technique.
With $1 at the car wash, I prewash, wash, rinse and polish my car.
How many minutes does $1 get you and how big is your vehicle?
@@OG-BIG-SHEPHERD. Its a Mini One 😂
The best way is to get it wet with low pressure water, than foam, and then wash it all with high pressure
First Pressure wash than snow foam, wait a few minutes, pressure wash, hand wash, rinse it, dry it
I wet the car, spray foam, clean wheels, spray foam. Job done 😂
We learned today that soap works.
Hmm I wonder if the science behind surfactant works? Oh look it does! Wow! 🎉
You will be amazed at the results of pre pre-washing!
Link to product applicator you used?
thanks 🙏
To complete this test, shouldn't the other side have been washed, followed by the pre-wash side being washed, to actually see if that pre-wash was worth it?
Always use prewash after it has been raining
Pre wash is a MUST. there are so many cringy detailers on CZcams that just starts hitting muddy cars with pressure washer right away….
That didnt seem like one side got a pre wash, that looks like only one side got washed? Whats the point, that soap cleans more than just water?
Of course its worth it you cant be scrapping all that dirt around scratching your paint. It will work better depending on if you have a protective coating on the paint and your water pressure
Some cleansers don't require a pre-wash or pre-soak. To answer that questions, it depends on the product.
I personally spray nine at 30/70 water. Spray all over the car then pressure wash. Then the ph neutral foam wash then rinse on my ceramic coated vehicle.
damn the fact you didnt use a pressure washer kind of want to try that stuff out. i usually use ph neurtral soap and some degreaser.
you can do degreaser 10:1 if you dont want to commit to another soap. cheers
Ok, but did you wash the car and compare? Because dawn dish soap is better than just plain water too.
Pre washing is like preheating an oven. You're either washing it or your not
What foam cannon do you use?
And how does it affect final wash quality?
