The Eurovision is basically a holiday in our house. I recall many of my family members crowding around our TV simply to watch it.
Same. The best of memories, especially when your country got some points.
I really wish that would be the case in our family as well but except from my grandma who sadly past away and sometimes my mom, no one enjoys to watch it and same goes for all my friends😒

Dancing Lasha Tumbai deserved some honorary mention. The song, quality wise, is not great but Verka serduchka is probably the most recognisable face of the festival of the last 20 years here in Europe. If the list includes memeable entries like Epic sax guy, Verka should be here too.
yeah! and so did Heroes by Mans Zelmelov, which my 10 year old was obsessed with when she was little , Arcade by Duncan Lawrence which my 5 year old is currently obsessed with and Grande Amore by Il Volo which is a beautiful sing which remind me of one of my Greatest loves who was taken from us thanks to crappy Covid.

One of my friends is a big Måneskin fan since he’s also Italian and he introduced me to this band, such an awesome band and I can definitely see them having a long career ahead of them but I’m surprised that it’s not higher on this list
SloMo from last year 🇪🇦 and Fuego from 2018 🇨🇾 are my all time favourites but I love a lot of songs from Eurovision and thanks to this contest I discovered a lot of great singers!

Okay...where is Verka. Lasha tumbai is one if the most iconic Eurovision songs.
Watch mojo is US and a - whatever - strange glittering drag queen + fun is still not very 'acceptable' despite 2nd place in 2007 (had to google her), a far better looking Conchita was more lucky in 2014 with her James Bond song.

If you ask me 2023 topped it...for me atleast this was the most memorable year in Eurovision overall. from all the previous years I mainly remember the winner...maybe 2nd place song too and some wierd one that became a meme, but thats about it...

They often make a lot of videos on the same topic just with slight moderations, so it can qualify as a new video it seems, like a part 2 or 3(another, yet another...), turning a top 10 into a top 20 or slight changes to the title so new subjects can fit in.

You should be grateful that watchmojo is appreciating Eurovision in the first place, so i wouldn’t complain. If i were european I wouldn’t be upset that an American channel is appreciating other cultures and the music they bring to the world. Of course they care. If it doesn’t appeal to you, move on.
I just love how Germany this year is taking Finland's place of their common rock/metal genre this year 😂 I have been diving down on some metal music for a while and Lord of The Lost sounds like if you mash up Scorpions with Rammstein together since both bands are German and have metal music

Finland is the capital of metal, but west and northern Europe have quite a few as well.
Metal is a massive genre though and I don't like everything in it.

Love that song! That year was a busy one! Worst was when she came back as it was totally out of synch with Eurovision the second time around.

Give some credit to Salvador Sobral and his unique song "Amar pelos dois". Not only the first Portuguese song to make it, but it has a beautiful backstory and totally stood out from the rest.

Mikolas Josef's "Lie To Me" in 2018 Eurovision is still the best for me.
I wish there were Balkan ballads on this list. Lejla, Lane Moje, Molitva, Nije Ljubav Stvar etc are some of the most beautiful songs in history (especially Lejla). Pretty sure Željko Joksimović wrote (or co-wrote) the ones I listed lol except Molitva. Seriously the balkans rarely disappoint (even though there have been some misses, for example "Cipela" from Serbia 2009, absolutely cursed) but in general you can rarely go wrong with them. Hopefully WatchMojo can remake this video and add some of those wonderful songs, since they are worth listening to at least once.
Bulgaria's 2007 song Voda gives me goosebumps to this day. Really powerful performance!

I'm just confused by how low _Zitti I Buoni_ is on this list, like exsqueeze me, Måneskin is the biggest thing to come out of Eurovision, like achieving worldwide fame big, since literally ABBA like ????????
I missed Sandra Kim and J'aime la vie. She is the youngest singer so far and the tune is catching.
Was not surprised as to what was #1 on this list, but was happy to see "Volare" included here!
There's a couple of spanish songs that are amazing. Mocedades' Eres Tu and Anable Conde's Vuelve Conmigo. Amazing vocals both of them, specially Anabel Conde. And also SloMo. I don't like that genre or that kind of songs but Chanel did an amazing performance

Sunstroke Project basically used Epic Sax Guy for his fame when entering Hey Mamma. It would've been a completely different entry (if they even entered again) had it not been for Run Away in 2010 and the phenomenon surrounding that. I think Run Away should've been the entry that was featured here, or at least mentioned in some way.
I saw Lordi in the thumbnail so I had to check it out!

ESC is my families and honestly my whole counties biggest holiday, the whole family comes together to watch the show (normally coordinated by the ESC nerds of the family, like me, my aunt and my parents) then we all critique each song and the performance. Then we guess the placements of each song and the one to get the closest to the correct scores gets a bunch of stuff like a trophy.
So yeah, it’s a pretty big thing here

Problem for the uk is, the musician dont need the esc for international success compared to other countries. So not so much competition on national level.

Maybe there is a bit of a mix-up with the number 15 entry? Yes, that is the same group and the sax guy is pretty epic in that one too but the original Epic Sax Guy stems from their 2010 entry Run Away.

SunStroke Project's 2010 Run Away is a better pick for "Epic Sax Guy". There are too many epic Songs missed...a list by eras would be better. Some personal faves are "Zwei kleine Italiener" by Connie Froboess, Sebalter "Hunter of Stars", maNga "we could be the same", Verka Serduchka "Dancing Lasha tumbai", Loïc Nottet "Rhythm inside", The Ark "Worrying Kind" (really just anything from the Ark)
