Shocking? No i find them funny
One on pppppppp
I think the jury voting and televoting It is lighter than water
there are some are very politacol. 19 from poul hardcastle.
The biggest controversy in all of Eurovision is........THEY DIDN'T PLAY JAJA DING DONG!
ik shouldve have been number 1
Ik so sad
To be honest i would rather have seen jajadingdong win than Ukraine 2016 and 2004, Finland in 2006 and Israel in 2018 ( that's my opinion sorry, please don't attack me)
Yes😂
Yeah, LOL, I actually thought for five seconds that they were gonna play it back then, Haha, imagine if they did LOL
“Lied about her age” and that has been the only time my country won Eurovision.
At least they have an Eurovision Jr. where contestants all the way to 15 can attend
Some say Belgium won because before 86 Belgium who were one of the first participants of the first ever contest had never won it while the other first countries to participate had won it like Italy, Luxembourg and so on
Really sorry, Sandra Kim, just horrible singer and her song, absolutely rubbish. Everybody knows why she won: Her fake age. I'm not a fan of Eurovision but that day that I was her age too I got totally angry.
Sandra Kim is definitely a meh singer, but there are far worse singers than her, especially a crap guy like Ryan Bane.
@@gudrunbruemllst4172 and i guess you are a sad brit who is angry at the bbc for sending crap songs
The “put in” shit is clever though lol
It’s clever but damn how I love that beat and groove
WatchMojo kinda forgot to mention that at that time Russia and Georgia were in military conflict over the independence of a Georgian region South Ossetia (Russia's North Ossetia region supported the neighbours and that's how it started). The conflict is still not resolved.
- Ukraine's withdrawal in 2019 ("Crimea is Ukraine"), several artists rejected offer to represent Ukraine
- Russian entry in 2017, Ukraine refuses Julia Samoylova to travel to Ukraine
- Iventa Mukuchyan waving the Nagorno-Karabakh flag
- Hatari waving the Palestinian flag
- wrong results during the live show in 2019
- Belarus sending political propagnada in 2021 (but luckily got disqualified)
The never-ending 12 points from greece to cyprus and viceversa all the years. It's not a surprise anymore
@@marinadeburgos8666 And prior to 2013 Turkey either voted for Greece or Cypress.
@@marinadeburgos8666 all the eastern bloc and scandanavian countries do this too though.
What we get? Nothing as our neighbours hate us so we never get a guarantee 12 points from either Ireland or France and everyone hate us still due to us having the largest empire and best language? Not sure.
The stage invaders: Vitalii Sediuk in 2017 and Dr. AC in 2018
Wait..wrong results in 2019?
Hatari from Iceland showing Palestinian flag while in Israel should've also been on the list
Yeah I was 100% expecting that one lol
On Hatari's end they smuggled flags into the venue, without the Eurovision or the venue's operators knowledge, and only showed them when Iceland's scores were brought up.
There's technically nothing wrong with having a Palestinian flag in Israel. In fact, there are places in Tel Aviv in particular which have the Star of David and Palestinian flag side by side. It's probably meant as a statement but it's the same statement the Left in Israel make.
@@millerhxc technically there might be nothing wrong with it but yet the flag was quickly removed from them by security, behind cameras.
They were trash for doing that
I like when WatchMojo does Eurovision top 10's
Me too
Also to me the 50s,60s,70s and even 80s Eurovision graphics look to me weird i don't know why but to me they do
It makes me appreciate the new Eurovision graphics
To me this year's esc visual design is the best
I love high tech esc graphics
Same
id like it more if they actually got information from eurofans instead of pulling a list from their ass, cuz most of these would be honorable mentions if they took the time to research some other scandals
Same here. That's how I discovered Eurovision-- thru Watchmojo doing this.
Belarus had to be disqualified this year because the song/band was consitered political propaganda. I think it should have been an Honorable mention.
A scandal that they were disqualified or a scandal that they made those political songs?
@@brent8407I think, it was fair to disqualify them, but there were lot of attention/controversy with the song in the first place, so I just thought about it seeing this list.
They have been permanently banned from Eurovision after all the things that happened this year
I believe they were allowed to write a new song, but that song was also deemed too political.
@@joermnyc yes I think, I saw something about that too.
The "put in disco" was so smart
Clever but such a catchy disco tune just jamming to it lol
Eurovision looks so much fun, just the fact that it faces countries against each other makes it way more interesting than any other singing show.
Of course It seems that Eurovision being a song contest is more than a cover full of politics
This Eurovision instead of a singing contest is more like THE HUNGER GAMES
But it's stupidly political. This year, the UK got no points
@@rossmccord2835 The song wasn't memorable enough. You need to be in top 10 of jury or televote to receive *any* point. Your song could be all 11th places, it'd still finish last. Same with Germany and Spain - the songs were not strong and this year was super strong. The only odd one is Moldova, but it can be explained with uh... Kirkorov *cough* buying *cough* jury *cough* votes *cough*
@@rossmccord2835 but when the UK got 111 points in 2017, oh now the contest isn’t political anymore ??
Starting a revolution definitely deserves the top spot ☺️
Especially when it rain of revolution
That’s not how it happened actually
@@franciscomendes3214 What would you change in how it was told?
@@jof6619 the revolution was 19 days after the contest, and the song was only one of the signals (19 days later). Also, the regime is mis-represented in the video as being communist/soviet, when it was actually an authoritarian far-right fascism-inspired dictatorship
12 years after the revolution Portugal joined the EU
43 years after the revolution Portugal won the contest
I'm honestly surprised that Belarus's banned 2021 entry wasn't on this list. The song was literally about how people have to follow the rules of the Belarusian dictator, Lukashenko
I cannot believe you didn’t mention the scandal in Baku, Azerbaijan, when they had to host Eurovision in 2012. All the people who were forcibly evicted and lost their homes because they just HAD to build right where their homes were.
Not to mention that italian broadcaster interrupted transmission during Italy's own song in 1974, for fear that the song titled "Sì" (yes) could influence the voting in the referendum for legalizing divorce (which obviously happened anyway).
And not to mention that after the 1964 final result, winner France Gall was slapped by another woman contestant who couldn't get over the fact that she hadn't won, ditched on the phone by her boyfriend who couldn't stand her being a more successful artist than he was AND booed by the orchestra who considered her song too modern and fast.
*1965
Yes, France Gall's victory was definitely not all happiness. The UK's singer Kathy Kirby, that year's runner-up, was the one who slapped France out of bitter jealousy. What a sore loser!
@@Texaslawhorn yep thanks, 1965 you are right!
If it were the 1964 contest, you wouldn't have known that fact that well.
@@Texaslawhorn Kirby's life would go the toilet after that. Karma or her just being an unstable person or maybe a bit of both.
Wow! :O I didn't know France Gall was slapped by an another contestant!
Now I have to become an international star to prove to all of Iceland, and my extremely handsome father, that I have not wasted my life.
@KEEP CALM and PLAY SOCCER IN YOUR PAJAMAS No, better play JajaDingDong!

The only one contest scandal comes to mind... The 4 way winning tie of the 1969 Contest causing several countries to withdraw in 1970
And by extension, led the first of 7 victories for Ireland.
Okay but Damiano’s drug rumors was seriously so stupid. Like it was clear that he was not close to the table and therefore couldn’t have done it. He literally just looked at a glass Thomas broke. Also WHO TF WOULD TAKE DRUGS ON LIVE TV
I like how “the most controversial win in Eurovision history” is only number 5
I like how they didnt mean the 2011 winner by "most controversial winner"
@@mihael2800 2011 is good
@@mihael2800 Most acts in 2011 were kinda weak so I don't think it matters too much
@@MustiiForTheWin the Azerbaijan entry was good but not winning material
That's just my opinion

portuguese here: the n1 is 100% correct. However, it is important to point out that when you speak of the Estado Novo, you actually showed images of the revolutionary/ resistance party flag and street art. The dictatorship was right wing. Get it right. (excuse the pun)
"Polo de Cabalo"
Some photos are só wrong,..
Is there any year without controversy in Eurovision? Since I started watching it there's always a controversy or two. They even include a controversy section in wikipedia
Controversy is interesting, that's why.
I think there was no controversy in 2018
@@mariomirceski661 there was because cyprus didnt win
@@jackavock8475 I wouldn't call that a scandal rather an unfortunate and robbed 2nd place
@@mariomirceski661 yess there wasnt a scandal but i mean that there was controversy around Israel's win
Very interesting, I didn't know all these controversies! The Maneskin one seemed like total bull**** from the beginning. They won, get over it!
It mostly annoys me that the video didn't even bother to mention that Damiano was proven innocent.
Also rumours should not be considered a scandal..... then everyone can start a "scandal"
Actually, one of the biggest Eurovision scandals came this year. There were initially 41 countries set to participate. First Armenia withdrew because of the conflict with Azerbaijan. But the really scandalous part came in the form of Belarusian song called ''Ya nauchu tebya'' or ''I Will Teach You''.
The lyrics are about people being mindless sheep, and needing a strong leader to tell them what to do, and how to survive. It even dared to condescendingly include the verse ''Rejoice, no matter if you're angry''. The band are known Lukashenko supporters, handpicked by him. Considering the dictatorship, imprisonments, and killings happening in Belarus at the same time, it hit hard.
On a musical level, it is also incredibly bad and lazy, which means that its sole purpose was to provoke. The whole Eurovision fandom immediately panned the song. Especially fans and musicians from Belarus. In fact, Belorussians insisted to disqualify their broadcaster BTRC until further notice. EBU (the broadcaster who precedes Eurovision Song Contest) gave Belarus an ultimatum - Either change the song or be disqualified.
They said that they are making a new song, but a few weeks later, the new song was also rejected by the EBU, and Belarus was disqualified. After Eurovision, EBU said that they'll revoke BTRC membership, and thus ability to participate in any future editions of the contest.
I though Armenia withdrew coz they didn't find an artist to represent the country
@@ionbalan7425 financial problems or war...
9:25 You should of probably mentioned they were accused of killing stray dogs 'to clean up Moscow before it hosted the contest the following night' ... I had to Google it like "What has this got to do with Eurovision?"
I was really confused too lol
Didn't Azerbaijan do a similar thing in 2012 with barricading hovels and slums in Baku?
Yes, no mention of Moscow hosting the 2009 Eurovision would confuse a lot of people.
Before I realized what was going on I thought that WatchMojo had mistakenly inserted the honorable mentions section of a video about animal rights controversies.
Omg thank you, I was like did I just have a stroke?? what does this have to do with eurovision? lol
Silvia Night: "Am I a joke to you?!"
Eurovision: 🤡
That's literally all she is, intentionally
Wasn't her performance more about dissing Sweden for sleeping with male members of the juries.
@@silvergir89 No she called the Dutch contender a bad word meaning that and the poor woman didn't qualify. She said in ageist language Carola was over the hill but Carola qualified and finished in the top ten whilst Sylvia did neither so Carola got the last laugh so to speak.
2:33 singing about being 15, looking like 30, actually being 13 :D
I'm not sure that having "I'm 15" as part of your song's lyrics qualifies as "lying about your age" though. It's just a song. Everyone sings all sort of stuff and we don't usually accuse them of lying if the lyrics don't actually depict their real life. Did she have her ID counterfeited in order to get into ESC? I don't think so.
@@ELisa-qf2mw She also lied about her age to the participating broadcaster for Belgium to even get a chance at representing the country at Eurovision.
I'm surprised Galasy Zmesta and the MARUV situation wasn't on this list.
10:23 You should have specified that the singer voluntarily took a drug test and it came back negative. Don’t just say he may have taken drugs, because people these days are going to take it as a fact and spread fake news
True. He was leaning down to pick up broken glass or smth, people mistook that for u know what and suddenly everyone was on him. The guy had nothing to hide, he clearly mentioned at the press conference that he doesn't do drugs and, as u mentioned, the test proved it.
She didn't even have the decency to try pronounce the band name right
Fr Damiano didn’t deserve that shit
The real scandal in 1968 was that it was "La, La, La" was going be sung in Catalan by Catalonian singer Joan, and he refused to changed the language, so the government forbid him to go & changed the lyrics to standard Madrid-Spanish (Castillan?) and gave it to Massiel to sing.
Also, please get people who know how to pronounce the acts' and songs' names properly and do a bit more research into some of the other scandals. There probably are enough for 20 here...
Big irony though. Hahahaha, I would say that Mrs Massiel has clearly and definitely regretted her old actions in the 60s, so she is clearly more mature now than she was in the 1960s.
About Sandra Kim's performance in 1986, everyone knows or has to be aware that a song is not a statement ! You are not forced to tell the truth about your life story in songs !
The 1976 Greek entry, "Panayia mou Panayia mou" by Mariza Koch, was a protest song about the 1974 turkish invasion of Cyprus. As a result Turkey withdrew from the 76 final and the organizers in Hague had to deal with protests from turkish expatriates, as well as warnings of possible violence from nationalist group the grey wolves (including a sniper during the final). Mariza Koch performed wearing a bulletproof vest and had to sign a waiver prior to getting on stage.
During the Greek performance the turkish network replaced the EBU signal with a broadcast of a patriotic anthem. Following the incident EBU disqualified Turkey from the 1977 contest and added a new rule to exclude songs with a political message.
It was the usa responsible for Turkey invading Cyprus
@@Darko_Milosevski03 Citation needed!
So we aint gonna talk about the Belarus Jury results, The Belarus 2021 song and the UK's 2018 stage invasion
You forgot about the Belarussian controversy this year with their political lyrics leading to their withdrawal, the Russia Ukraine situation in 2017, Ukraine's withdrawal in 2019, Many showings of controversial flags including the Nagorno-Karabakh flag scandal of Armenia 2016 and the Palestine flag by Iceland in 2019, the stage invasion during the 2017 and 2018 contests, China cutting ties with Eurovision in 2018 after cutting 2 performances off during a live broadcast and wrong results displayed in 2019.
When Sweden and France songs had the same number of marks in the 1991 ESC (a tie for the first time since the infamous 1969), the Italian presenters (both former ESC winners) and everyone else were clueless as what to do, until someone reminded them that there was actually a tie-breaking mechanism.
Wow that Ms. Belgium song is very catchy! I liked it! Am I the only one?
Why didn't WatchMojo mention the war in Georgia incited by Russia in 2008? That's why the lyrics were like that. Georgian people tried to attract people's attention to that fact and their act was understandable.
Right. Understandable, but EBU does not allow for political messages in Eurovision songs so...
@@louisemb6291 It may not allow political messages but this fact was worth mentioning.
Wow the song started a revolution? That's amazing that's astounding that's.... I have no words
The story is not being told correctly
The song was used as a signal to start the revolution
@@danielbotelho7854 Yeah I know which is surprising to me.
@@franciscomendes3214 What exactly happened?
I ended up looking the story. Interesting story.
You can add another controversy to your Top: portraying the Estado Novo regime as communist when it was actually the absolute contrary. It was a fascist regime. The Communists you show in the pictures were the ones who fought against it.
According to one account I have read, one signal for the commencement of Portugal's Carnation Revolution in 1974 was the broadcasting of the Australian folk song "Waltzing Matilda" on the radio station of the Portuguese army.
The drug allegations from Italy this year. Damiano David was apparently snorting cocaine. The allegations turned out to be fake. It was a massive controversy surrounding their win aside from the censorship of some of the lyrics of their winning song Zitti E Buoni (Shut Up and Behave) because they were rude in English.
And the only time they performed the rude version was after they won and the Bambino's were in bed and probably most of the ones who stayed up couldn't understand Italian. Sylvia Night swore in English and although she didn't do it live she refused to change it before and the uncensored version is actually on the official recordings. Also the drug claims are bs and provably so.
Dude Måneskin were asked a billion times about their name and they still mispronounce it lol
They could asked the Danish delegates for help.
Greece participated in 1976 with a song protesting the 1974 Turkish Invasion in Cyprus. Turkish organizations directly threatened to send a sniper to hit the singer (Mariza Koch) during her performance. As a result of this, the organizers of the 1976 ESC asked her to sign an own-responsibility statement and wear a bulletproof vest during her performance.
😂😂 The “Italy’s Måneskin leader doing drugs” thing has to be the biggest BS told in Eurovision Contest. 🤣🤣
More so because it’s all France’s doing - everybody knows French consider and have always considered themselves much more superior to their Italian neighbours, so it’s no surprise that when France, who was already taking their victory in the contest for granted, lost miserably to Italy they were unable to accept it and spread that nonsensical rumour as petty revenge.
*P. S. =* Sorry for all the replies (the valid ones too) being gone, I had to delete and repost the comment in order to get rid of the “replies” of a french person completely unable to accept true facts reported by her own country’s proper (non scandal/gossip) media - and France’s loss in the contest.
To be honest France could have won the contest if the televoters cared about music
France finished 2 overall but in the televoting they scored less than Ukraine and their performance was weird and the band looked like supervillains
@@Darko_Milosevski03 Exactly. That’s why I said they lost “miserably”: it’s not the victory itself, but their attitude toward it - despite performing like sh*t in the final, they seemed to believe such an half-as*sed performance would make no difference to the public and they would bag the win regardles, so when instead they lost they weren’t able to cope and acted _miserably_ (with pathetic and ridiculous acts like spreading lies about Italy doing drugs on live tv, making a fuss on media, demanding for Italy’s win to be revoked and so on).
French are still choking for the defeat in the 2006 World Cup final.
@@TheItalianAtheist Yeah. French spread false rumors in that occasion as well, mostly about the headbutt to the chest that back then France's captain Zidane gave to an Italian player which led to Zidane's red-card expulsion from the game - French claimed Zidane was completely innocent and it was all the italian player's fault who had provoked the french captain....except said captain was well-known for his aggressive behavior and temper.
@@LucienSabre i am a Juve fan and had Zidane play for us 5 years. During the group stage of CL 2000 he got expelled twice for head butting, collecting 4 suspension matches out of 6...

Can you even make a top 10 list.....?
@@Darko_Milosevski03 Go and listen to it. Alt taste exists ....effing deal with it!
The worst part about number 5 with Massiel's entry is that it wasn't hers to begin with. The original performer was going to be Joan Manuel Serrat. However due to Serrat being Catalan and Franco being Franco, Spain instead had Massiel sing the same damn song, just translated to Castilian Spanish.
Which couldn't have been hard to translate when like 80% of the lyrics are "la"
all i can say is that, 10 is a very short list to pin down all the controversies or scandals in eurovision
Please make more of these I am very intrigued

Ilanit admitted in a interview a few ago that she did not wear a bulletproof vest, it was just a rumor

YES! Portugal in first place and for good reasons ;) just to say that that was a revolution made without a shot being shot and it's known has the carnation (flower) revolution, to this date carnations are the symbol of freedom and democracie .
That year Portugal finished bottom of the contest but if it wasn't for this song who knows what would have happened to Portugal

Interesting fact.. The British boradcaster Terry Wogan was actually from Ireland (from Limerick) and held both UK and Irish citizenship. The narrator didn't mention that however.
The Kiss between Birthe Wilke and Gustav Winckler was so long because a stagehand forgot to signal them to stop, so the pair just continued. It was considered quite scandalous in 1957 xD
1973 the security was tighter, but no Bulletproof vest. With the dress she wore, that would have been too obvious..

It's not a scandal, is one of the memes of the year
You missed some really big ones for some not as important ones. Biggest one you missed is the voting sequence in Azerbaijan in 2009. On TV, the Armenian performance was blurred out and the number didnt appear on screen so you couldn’t vote for them. And the people who managed to still vote for Armenia were arrested and held on being “unpatriotic and helping an enemy state”
Wait a minute, surely Portugal's is more a crowning moment of heartwarming rather than a scandal? And, anyhoo, it was totally without the singer's knowledge that his song had been used as the trigger for the revolution (relatively bloodless, as revolutions go, BTW). Then again, he was quite happy about it when it got back to him......
Great video! You forgot to mention that Jimmy Jump also interrupted the UK's performance during 2018 and took the microphone from SuRie.
That wasn't him.
Wow, I never even scene Eurovision (or even heard about these controversies), but now I am shocked about these controversies
How could you ignore Hatari in 2019????
i would say they just didn't want comment wars but they also mentioned multiple controversies with israel's songs
Lol they banded song" We Don Wanna Put in" , but Verka performed with the song "Russia Goodbye" and made us believe that she was singing " Lasha Tubai".
The winning of A-ba-ni-bi, first win for Israel, was also not broadcast in Israel because the IBA didn't allow enough broadcasting time needed for the whole voting progress.
Back in the days the Danish kiss was a big deal and it was not supposed to be that long. The couple were waiting for a signal to stop but it never happened so they just kept going. Also Danish is not German so V is not pronounced as F
In the 1996 ESC, the presenter was booed and shouted on for assumingly being rude to former ESC winner about her age, something that she actually didn't. It appeared as that she was said on live TV that the win of the singer "was a long time ago", while actually it was the singer who used that phrase and the presenter only repeated it, since it was covered by applause and she was not sure if that was what the singer said.
Wow. Eurovision was must watch show when growing up in Finland. I remember that young girl & the song and others too. Finland was mentioned heh hee torilla tavataan :)) This was fun. Thanks.
NO! Ilanit definitely never wore a bulletproof vest. There’s an interview with Nurit Hirsh (the conductress at 8:48) where she claims that many people in Israel still believe that but it’s not true!
Ilanit's performance looked weird to me i don't know why maybe there is something wrong with me but to me her performance looked weird
Greece 1976 entered the contest with a song about the turkish invasion in cyprus and it reminds me a bit of number 2 of this list. Mariza Koch had to sign a contract that she couldnt sue the competition if she was shot and performed with a bulletproof vest cause there were multiple warnings that there would be a shooter in the audience to get her
Imagine winning with a song that is just "the, the, the" brilliant.
I knew who would have been the first ! But you can really do a second part because there is so much to say
Illanit did not wear a bulletproof vest. It was a rumor that started because of the poncho-like dress she wore. In later interviews Illanit said she did have an unusually heavy security around her, but nothing special during the performance itself.
the content i am here for
Who are still waiting for the REACT channel for their reaction to this year's Eurovision?
Why do they make it look like the regime in Portugal was communist? XD
It’s just a typo!
I wonder if those Arabic broadcasters were punished in some way for prematurely cutting off the 1978 Contest when it became obvious that Israel were going to win.
Poland's huge difference between jury & televoting in 2016, and Norway's in 2019 should have been on the list i'd say. Still to this day seen as huge injustices and roberries.
Being told I look 16 years old even though I'm 13 and then finding out about Sandra Kim makes me wonder
Also poor Switzerland constantly ending as runner up in controversy
the scandal that comes to my mind is from Eurovision 2021. and it isn't the rumours about drugs. it is the fact that we got no points either from the judges or from the public. our song wasn't that bad. it didn't deserve no votes
It didn't get no votes. It's the system which do that, if you aren't in top 10, you don't get points. Even though, you can be 11/39 in every country, you can have no points
The UK song wasn't memorable enough in a very strong year. Lithuania was more "fun" and energetic, basically edging the UK out of that category. It also didn't out-weird the Ukraine and Iceland, it wasn't as well sung as many other countries, etc. If you don't end up in any countries top 10, you don't get points.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 2:36 I wonder why she faked her age like that.. Weird..
Can we also have top 10 (or 100) of things Fire Saga got totally wrong about ESC?
Great film but inaccurate
In the movie the contest was held in Edinburgh
Edinburgh hasn't hosted the contest since the 70s
There has never been a country who was disqualified for switching song midway through the contest
Graham Norton to me looked like a fool while commentating in the film
And an Icelandic banker in real life wouldn't destroy Iceland's chances of winning the contest
And Iceland has enough wealth to host the contest
It was to me a great film but inaccurate
How the kiss is the scandal?
Biggest controversy how come it's not shown in North America
"We Don't Wanna Put In" (We Don't Wanna Putin) is similar to "Dancing Lasha Tumbai" (Dancing Russia Goodbye).
Then how was verka from Ukraine not disqualified
This proves that Eurovision is on the side of Ukraine because it's a bigger country than Georgia
@@Darko_Milosevski03 it proves diddly squat.
New one added to the list
okay but the israel one in 1973 is pretty disturbing and well moral of the story, israel is chaos in eurovision.
Nothing about Serbia and Montenegro not sending a song in 2006, due to a scandal during preliminary contest, which happened just weeks before Montenegro broke away from the country
Can you do top 10 episodes of the show the Deep?
I do enjoy eurovision... I'm from Great "nil points" Britain, and the thrill of not only coming last, but getting "nil points" is palpable.
As an Austrian, I feel that. We've been there a few times.
@@Stjurgeon You do put a bit more effort into your entries, though.
@KEEP CALM and PLAY SOCCER IN YOUR PAJAMAS Never followed the football. There's not crossover between Eurovision and footie.
I am really sorry u guys are getting misjudged by the public so often. I'm not gonna lie, 2014 Children of the Universe by Molly was my favorite song that year, I could not stop playing it on my phone.
@@jesseboy7951 These days, it's part of the experience, so it's not a problem as such (unless you're trying to run a fair-minded song contest. I guess then it would be a headache).
I love you mojo, but please no fake things, because that thing about Damiano of Italy was made up, It never happend and was proved so.
I honestly had never heard of Eurovision until that new movie came out, which I have to see. Also had never heard of Jimmy Jump before.
Ah, our beautiful world. Where a kiss between two women and making a song with a hidden reference to a president seemingly cause bigger controversy than shooting lots of stray dogs...
We don't wanna put in actually sounds like a catchy and actually good song but it's hated because it attacked putin
That's why we need to keep politics out of Eurovision
@KEEP CALM and PLAY SOCCER IN YOUR PAJAMAS Yes i have a cool name
That's what many people say
Yup
I don't see the number 1 being a scandal though.... it's actually really nice that Eurovision has another meaning in Portuguese culture. Also, the song we sent in 1973 by Fernando Tordo "Tourada" was a criticism to Estado Novo that we don't really know how it got past the "blue pencil" (literally "lápis azul", which was the act of censoring everything that did not meet the "Estado Novo" ideology). Maybe people working there also got tired of the regime or they didn't understand the satire.
“The most controversial win in eurovision history”
And that’s my country🧍♀️
