Today we are in a neighborhood in Lagos Nigeria called Mushin .This video is inside the most notorious hood in Lagos Nigeria. This neighborhood is by far the most dangerous .Lagos is crazy but on contrary to beliefs sometimes the people/vendors in rough places in Lagos are very the most humble and nice. This the slums of Nigeria

I grew up in Mushin. Those guys they call Area Boys were uncles to me growing up. They would whoop me when I skip school, they attended my basketball matches, loyal to their own. Looking back, school made me book smart, but Mushin made me street smart. Living better now, but I never forget to respect the streets.
NIgerian hoods are not dangerous. it s just busy and filled with people doing their thing. its most fun at night

Ayyyyyy!!! This is my hood!!! I was raised in Mushin, but I currently reside in California in the United States. It's wonderful to see my neighborhood featured in the media, and it's encouraging to see how much progress has been made despite the fact that much more needs to be done. I appreciate you highlighting regions of Africa that people don't frequently get to see. Awesome work 👍
Have you ever thought about going back?
@@marsha7748Why would she? She's a diversity boards wet dream.

Nobody talk about the hospitality!!
I am 48 now and my father took us there when I was 8 years old. Being white and coming from Romania in a such diffrent civilzation had a great impact on us. I stayed less than a year, my father remained for a few years and it was certainly not easy for him. But for me it is one my great and beautifull childhood memories.
You're white and you lived here 48years ago. Am not gonna lie the experience is gonna be different.
Lol so that means you have love for blacks now😮
It looks like certain parts of Haiti . Nigerians and Haitiens look like siblings. Shoutout 2 Naija!!!!!
Alot of slaves from Nigeria are Haiti
I read Haitian Voodoo came from Benin 🇧🇯 and Togo 🇹🇬
Czech is going where very few CZcamsrs dare to venture. Nuff respect to you, my young gun.
Facts
I got to agree. Everything is natural over there. Everybody has their makeshift buildings and hustling. The soil is really rich in those countries, so most people make a living off gardening, and some make a living off selling fabrics.
Am a Nigerian, born and brought up in Lagos, Am also Yoruba , those guys are saying, there are parts of Mushin they do not want to show you, they said and I quote they will not allow camera in those places, and I know what they are saying, Mushin is one of the roughest area in Nigeria, Police do not go to those places till date, so am glad you are safe . Just watching this, makes me miss Nigeria.
Thanks for the info
You are a real lagocian. There are many places in Lagos when I go on errands you dare not even look at the direction of where boys are smoking or gathering in few numbers.
@@definition3300 fact!!!
Mushin not muslims I guess typo error
Stockfish is unsalted dried codfish. During the Nigerian civil war 1967-1970 Norwegian stockfish was flown in to Biafra ( present day Southeastern Nigerian) where people needed protein-rich foods especially children. Millions of Biafran children suffered from kwashiorkor because of lack of protein and many starved to death. After the war stockfish because a staple in cooking soups in pretty much of Nigeria.
In the early 1990s, I worked in Mushin as an Optometrist providing eyecare to the people at Victory Eye Hospital. Czech, thank you for taking me back memory lane. Enjoy Lagos
That stock fish during the Nigerian civil war was too salty. 😢
I love this guy that is touring the market and culture. I am an American woman who traveled to Nigeria 7 times , and as corrupt as it is in Nigeria,i love it. I would also love to live in Nigeria one day.

You are so right! When i went to Nigeria several times i have been cared for beyond measure , never felt scared . In fact i was so spoiled that i came back to the USA , wearing Nigerian attire, eating all types of Nigerian foods.
I love the questions this man is asking .

Those folks showing around are the OGs of the city. The know the streets. The landmarks and who is who in the area. You are safe with them
You are correct
oh dear, i miss Nigeria badly. My primary school is just at Jinudu street, off olateju street Mushin. My sister also lives where they wrote Kayode street closed. Gosh i have been away from Nigeria for almost 5 years and seeing videos like this always make me wanna visit home again. omo mushin for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The guy wearing the turbulence shirt speaks well and understand Americas lingua , he is very clear with his interpretation. Pretty smart dude.
I also come from that same hood , papa ajao mushin.
Trust me , there are more inner hood than shown but the ones shown are fairly ok and it feels more hood at night , talk about ojuwoye , oloosa … Great job to you and the guys showing you around .
I know I like to show the hood but I’m not going be there moving around at night just one spot
That is my hometown right there bro! it is safe long as you mind your business. I miss Olosa so badly. I grew up in Idioro and everyone there is my guy. Yo, Czech thanks for bringing back memories. Yo, folks in Mushin ain't rolling in wealth but they have community with them. It is a bustling city now compared to when I was a youngin.
Oh the people are cool in Mushin until you get to drug area
Like seriously? You grew up in idi oro? Me too bro, I grew up there Akala street to be precise, what about you? I was in Nigeria 2019 and I made sure I stayed there and I loved every bit of it.

This is one of the greatest hood in Nigeria. It is like going to the South Side of Chicago or going to the East Side of Detriot

Damn is really hood not safe place
no, it's not
There are very expensive neighborhoods on the Southside of Chicago. University of Chicago, one of the best universities in world, is on the south side, so is Hyde Park.
One thing I know is that Czech can blend with anybody both rich or poor. You’ve been to so many countries including the dangerous areas in the various countries with confidence.
Dear Sir,
I have been following you for close to 2 years now, and I must say you feel a lot at home in Lag9s Nigeria. I have followed you on your trips to South America through Morocco to now Lagos, Nigeria, and have never found you more comfortable, like in Lagos Nigeria. Keep it up, Sir.
Czech is a good dude he can go to any hood and break bread 💯
Hi Czeh welcome to Nigeria and welcome to Mushin. I can see you have blended in well with the indigens your moves down there looks so smooth nice one.Big ups to the guys taking you around mushin they are the mvp.
I was born and raised in Lagos but I don't visit Mushin because of it's notorious reputation. Czech, for touring this hood, you're the man!!
That is my hood. The population is more than 700k. More than 2 million people live in the area. I live like 25 minutes from this area. Just like we have Houston Texas. Mushin is a big city in Lagos Nigeria
As a whole, those Brothers make the perfect tour guide combination.
living in Namibia, Africa and having what i currently have even the littlest things in life that i take for granted on a day to day basis like drinking clean tap water or watching tv, having a phone and using the internet, it's such small things that i'm gratefull for, this video really humbles me to my core. and really motivates me to always remain as a real African boy and embrace it. even if i do become the next big thing in life and be successfull i'll never forget where i came from to get to where i am. peace out.
I made this same trip 3 times in little over a year as an AA from Cali just before the pandemick...Lagos, Ikeja, Abuja, Benin City, Imo State. I hope to go back soon.

So nostalgic…Wow! Things will never be the same ….Improvement of the infrastructure will definitely boost the economy immensely…Nigerians are quite resilient and resourceful…
Czech!! I hope you see this message, but please try to interview the different major tribes in Nigeria and show us what their culture is like and how they are different from one another. One of the thing I remember from a month-long visit to Germany a few years ago was how I was able to find some really, really good deals on food at the grocery story. Usually it was stuff that simply had to be sold that day or thrown away, and it was marked down considerably. If you wanted to, you could simply walk to the grocery store every day, buy whatever was on sale, and just make a day's worth of meals out of that. There's just not an equivalent system where I live in the US. Grocers would rather throw food away than to heavily discount it.
Bro i don't need to travel, I ve being traveling around the world through your channel sitting on my couch. This is lit. Keep up the good work bro. 👊👊👊💪💪
Hi Czech, you just took me down memory lane as an African American from Nigeria! I grew up in the south south part of Nigeria, just been in lagos would give you only the western vibe of Nigeria. You need to visit the East, North and South south of my country. Honestly i miss Nigeria a whole lot and cant wait to go back to my mothers land once again. Thanks for 3 of your recent videos and needless to say you got my mouth watering when you was eating the goat meat pepper soup and rice! Hey dont forget make sure you try out the Phenomenon bbq SUYA! One love bro😊
this comment is emotional sis,I can really relate as a Nigerian.
How did you and your family end up in Nigeria? Was this at a time other African Americans were also in Nigeria? I’m very interested in your story
AFRICAN AMERICAN from NIGERIA? Bro you are so L O S T !!!
@@rasovucetic3343 maybe his parents are African American and moved to Nigeria and that’s where he was born which would make him an African American from Nigeria!!!! That’s literally not difficult to understand.
I like the way he ate the mini fish with them in the floating city Lagoon. Humble and Mentally strong.
Interesting connection between Callejon de Hamel in your Havana Cuban video and the part of Nigeria that you're in for this video. The language your guides are speaking to the locals is Yoruba and the music and cultural dances at the Callejon de Hamel are Yoruba in origin. The Callejon de Hamel performers have dances and songs dedicated to Yoruba deities such as Elegba/Eshu, Yemoja, Oshun and Sango. Another interesting fact is that hundreds of formerly enslaved Afro Cubans returned to Lagos in the late 19th century at the end of Cuban slavery up until the early 20th century.
wow thats deep -message pinned
Alpha and Omega Jamaica Canada nuff love to Lagos Nigeria ❤
That pineapple. I know the feeling. I had some pinnapple in Tanzania. It was dam near as good as a steak. Food is so much better in African countries.

Stock fish is imported from Norway. Air-dried, it can stay for a year without spoiling, whether refrigerated or not. When cooked it gets bigger. You can eat it raw but hard chew but tasteful and mouthful with a little bite.

Notoriety in Mushin as reduced when compared to the 80s, 90s and early 2000.
I am proudly from Mushin but people find it difficult to believe because most people believe being a Mushin boy/guy means you have to be bad.
The thing about Mushin is that it toughened you up for Lagos life and Lagos life is like an action packed movie.
Wow, they know Everybody! This is Cool 💪🏾🔥
