Documentary uncovering the rollercoaster story of what happened to each of the band members since going their separate ways in 1982, a tale of rifts, adversity and personal tragedy, littered with events that often surpass fiction. Featuring contributions from Julie Walters, Elaine Paige and Zara Larsson, as well as some of the band's closest friends, the programme unravels the global successes and crushing failures of four individuals who have survived everything the world of fame and success could possibly throw at them - Hudba
They were fortunate that all members are still around to pull off that reunion. No other groups has that kind of luck.
Well OBVIOUSLY ..🤷♀️

ABBA can never be replaced! They are still so incredibly wonderful!!
Could you be more effusive please. You weren't effusive enough !
Four extraordinary people, no ego's no pretense, just pure talent and honesty. I loved them back in the 70's when the US didn't realize how great they were. The world realizes it now. Their music will live forever
👍/🇸🇪
My father was a black taxi driver in Liverpool in the late 1990s he picked up agnetha at Liverpool airport and drove her to Wales he said she was beautiful, he called my mother to say he would be late home for his evening meal in his words you'll never guess who I had in the back of the cab the blonde from ABBA 😂😂😂
Black taxied are not unusual in UK. Just like yellow ones in many other places

I always felt it was sad that the ABBA couples broke up. They seemed so great together, Beautiful couples.
The greatest pop group ever. ❤
I loved Anni-Frida's album, "I Know There's Something Going On" with Phil Collins in 1982!
Can you imagine if Agnetha, the soprano and Anna Frid, the metzo soprano that sings opera did the song I know him so well instead. Off the charts.
No, they've never performed or recorded it, but I honestly think they should.
How it should have been done.
Agree with you, absolutely!
Wish they had recorded that and included it on their Voyage album.
Well, maybe they still can !!
Those few seconds that Frida talks about her daughter's loss by that car accident are really painful. She teared my heart out when she broke and saw her bursting into tears in front of the camera.I wouldn't dare to rewatch that part. God give her courage.
You could tell she also really loved her husband Ruzzo. If he hadn't passed, I have no doubt the Prince and Princess Reuss would be married twenty years by now.
@@TheFridaFanWould have been 31 years ;) They married in 1992 and he passed in 1999.
Frida has been to hell and back so many times... the ultimate survivor. I adore her.
@@TheFridaFan
Thought she truly found love and peace with Prince Russo. Alas it didn't last with his passing. So sad for Frida for the loss of her daughter as well. Feel her pain and heartache. Same for Agnetta too. Glad Abba reunites, albeit much later. They are meant to be and with this unification, it has come full circle. Wish them well.
@@TheFridaFan "died" not "passed"
The girls are fabulous singers
For the last time "ABBA Gold" does not contain ALL their greatest hits!
Thanks for being so patient with us. By the way, when you say "greatest", do you mean best, or most popular?
@@user-uq6sz6po3d It's kind of the same thing, but if we're going down the popular route, how can anyone rate album track 'Thank You For The Music'- a song that struggles to exist outside it's high-concept Side 2 album nature over the ultra-important like of 'The Day Before You Came' and 'Under Attack'. Both were still hits, as was 'Head Over Heels', 'Angeleyes' and 'Summer Night City'-the last 2 got higher than 'Lay All Your Love On Me' for instance, which actually had a surprisingly short chart life and low top 10 position expected for ABBA then. Plus 'Honey, Honey' hit the UK Top 10 when it was dumbly given to a duo, instead of dumb Epic/Polar bothering to utilise ABBA's one, same with 'Hasta Manana', and then 'So Long' and 'I Do' were sizeable hits around Europe-the latter even achieved Top 20 in the US, a position other more obvious ABBA tunes on here didn't do, and then there's the significance of 'When All Is Said And Done' going Top 30 in the US in '81.
Fleetwood Mac and many other big hitters include many songs on their compilations, many of which could not be called hits considering where they got to, yet this never stops them being on these records. 'People Need Love' is incredibly important-it started their career as a unit and 'Ring Ring' was their 1st entry into Eurovision when they were thinking beyond just doing one record. It goes without saying there's far far better song on "More ABBA Gold"-both these CDs/LPs should really be sold as a double-that way you get almost everything, even if some of it is edited.
The car accident of Frida’s daughter actually happened in my hometown of Livonia New York. Don’t look for it in the newspaper because they suppressed it in 1997, due to her fame. Some of the ambulance people who worked at the time, we’re absolutely shocked when they found out who her mom was
Well, the documentary it's extraordinary but the title "missing years" for all of their fans, ABBA was always present during those years. I mean, I was born after their break up and I knew ABBA before the movie bc of my Familia and friend who kept listening them. So, this group as the same for queen, the Beatles... Etc they were never forgotten. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
They were never forgotten but many people didn’t know the things that happened with them individually in those 40 years of separation.
That made me cry, I have been an AbbA fan since Waterloo and went to London to see ABBA voyage it was fantastic, it was as if they were actually on stage. They are a remarkable group and will always be a classic group. In their own songs lyric “Thank you for the music”
Do you live near England? I wanted to go see the 1st show “Voyage” and I heard the human ABBAs came out onstage at the end of the show! I live in the USA and had no one to go to London with. Never been there but would have for ABBA! But I want to seethe REAL ABBA! Another thing I will never get to do.💔
@@mindyk-j450 I didn’t go the first night although I was in London, but went on the second night I can’t believe it still going
Growing up in Sweden in the 70’s there is nobody who can watch this with dry eyes, the music we lived, first love, first kiss, and so on, the beautiful soundtrack of our lives. My all time favorite album is, and has always been, the Visitors, so complete and full of amazing tunes, the only song I still can’t wrap my head around is “Two for the price of one “, what on earth is that song doing on this album, listen to the lyrics…😅 If one day I have the honor to bump into the boys, I definitely would love to get the story about that one. ❤❤❤
You're not the only one wondering about that song.
I’ve never heard this one so looked it up. I laughed when the “other” was the mother! Lol
Hope someday can go to Sweden and visit all around where ABBA spent the best days, and the museum. Greetings from México 🇲🇽🙏
I fell in love with ABBA nearly 50 years ago, I was so angry that the boys ran off with some lot lizards! How could they, I'm still in love with Agnetha even still today. As a young Marine I listened to their music on the radio, Casey Kacem played their music almost ever week on the American top 40. I loved cruising down I 5 in my 1955 Chevy listening to their music from KFRE and Gary Powers doing traffic updates from his Helicopter.
Those were the days, wish I could met the girls and tell them how much joy they still bring me.🥰👍❤️🇺🇸
Hi I’m Casey Kacem and you are listening to AFN Radio, American top 40
I was listening also this radio station in Berlin (east ) and I was waiting for this week chart position of Abba
What is "lot lizards?"
Rude
" I was so angry that the boys ran off with some lot lizards! "
I wasn't angry. I thought: Great, Agnetha is finally free for me."
Oh wait, I was only 14 at that time. Bummer!
Well she kick started my puberty anyway, and my first real girlfriend actually looked a lot like her and has even been a great singer as well.
😉
My god....these four Swedes mean so much for so many people....it is so incredible what they have achieved in this lifetime. No CEO, no politician, no cleric, no entrepreneur has accomplished what they have. To me they are GOD on Earth.❤
Yes so is this....Amen...liebe Grüße aus Deutschland/ Germany
they are amazong and classy and Agnetha is a Goddess
I understand Frida well she worked more than 10 years of her life and career with one and only ABBA so moving as a divorced and solo is not an easy step she toke a leap of faith in her self
Indeed...magical. I grew up with Abba. The best ever!
Love Agnetha too, but Frida is EVERYTHING...
Got completely captivated by her since the first time I saw the "Voulez-vous" album cover (in which she totally looks like a goddess) in my childhood during the early '80s.
I've been listening and collecting ABBA albums and compilations for the last 25 years, and now as a 45 y/o, I have so many more reasons to worship her: THAT fabulous, sublime, elegant voice, the natural class, the charm, the glamour, her incredible sense of humor and inner strenght.
Yeah, she's by far my most favorite ABBA member and will always be ❤.
PS. Regarding her solo work, I'm not ashamed to admit that I prefer the album "Shine" over "There's Something Going On" 😛😁
I love Anni-Frid too much!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Swedes speak English so beautifully
Yes it's true. A man, even at 74, can produce tears watching this ABBA documentary, especially learning about their lives during those 'Hidden Years!'
Oh, they got that right - "I still have Faith in You" is ABBA all over the place. `First time I heard it, I listened to the first few words and notes and wondered if I was going to like it, obviously hoping I would. Then came the words,
"Do I have it in me ?....." Bingo ! That`s ABBA all right. They were a hell of a band. `Part of our lives for those of us who are over 50.
ABBA has the magic. Not even bands at the comtemporary can rival.
Those of us that were around the first time had longed for a reunion of ABBA. When it came we were surprised to not only get the two new songs, but a whole new album and show.
And when you *first* heard that *first* chorus of ISHFIY kicking in... Right? 🥲
Loved Abba then. Love Abba now.😊
"Missing years" have never been a thing .
Me,and a lot of people i know, have always loved them, and been listening, from early on ,way before the movie . Actually some of us have been almost from the early start (from grand prix ).
Still listening !
I love their music , they are living icons .
Thats it.
Living ICONS.
Absolutely agree - since I fell in love with their music, they have been an essential part of my life. Love ❤❤❤ them.
To lose her daughter and her husband is so 💔 for agnetha to lose her parents is just awful, I don't think Benny and beyorn really knew what was going on ,
Abba are legends and always will be ❤
40 year break is crazy insane nuts;;;I'm amazed and overjoyed they came back...
They still look fantastic and sound fantastic! It's ok to embrace the older, mature Abba and they've definitely still got it!
I have heard that they have sold the most albums and songs. Supposedly it was the Beatles. But ABBA was truly international and because of that they sold the most. They were a perfect blend
I just Love ABBA,
the members and their delightful music.
I listen to their music all the time, especially when I am driving, I sing along with them, (I know the lyrics to all their songs) and it helps ease the stress of traffic.
They brought a lot of joy during my schooling days….thank you ABBA
4 minutes in and my eyes are flooded. the first memory of music is 5, and the first abba song at 6. growing up in a fractured home that ultimately broke into a million pieces when "the winner takes it all" was released, can't help be feel a bit of attachment to their journey. anytime a song came on, the volume went to high. when cd players were introduced, after buying one, i bought 5 cds, one of which was an abba anthology. when i heard i still have faith in you, i was not aware they reunited, but i knew instantly, in the first 2 chords, i screamed, that's new abba, it has to be! sure enough. better get the tissues
I adore AgnetНa , admire Frida.
THE Current Pictures I saw of the TWO ABBA Ladies/I think they are Still Very Beautiful...
They saved my life. I owe them one.
I don’t expect them to save my the next time which is close
ABBA IS A CLASIC OF POP MUSIC

My teenagers listen to Abba music in the car. It wasn't the music of my time, so that just shows that incredibly beautiful music withstand all time. I was introduced to Abba by my fatherinlaw. ❤
Thank you for this truly great documentary! I grew up with ABBA and I have happily lived my life with ABBA-music. Pure music, great lyrics, great arrangements and unique vocals… and no drugs and scandals! I can’t stand drugs-induced music!

If we truly love we will be able to live in peace, in love just like ABBA . ABBA has given us a perfect example of real life ❤ this music 🎶🎵 will be a live forever it spreads love, kindness , lifts us up to the sky. Thank you for sharing 🎉❤❤❤❤
Part of this is inaccurate...the writer and director of the movie "Muriel's Wedding" asked Abba for permission to use their songs in the movie, and they said no. He kept asking, and they said no. Eventually he flew to meet up with Abba, and told them about the movie, and they agreed. The movie was a huge hit; Abba loved the movie; and the movie totally revived Abba. THEN the lady who had wanted to use their music before the movie was even in the mix, got permission from Abba to do "Mamma Mia" and it exploded in Vegas, and elsewhere, and eventually the movie as well. The movie inspired all of this first.
Thank you!
Without Annifrid and Agnetha, there would be NO Abba. I think at this stage the two men have realised this. I hope they are kinder to the ladies nowadays.
And there would be no ABBA without the guys either they wrote the music, they could have got any two girls in to front it
the 4 of them make Abba. The girls are the main event
A case of too little too late
I have always loved ABBA!
And they still sound so-o-o good!
There were never 40 missing years for me. ABBA were part of my ENTIRE life.
I like their music because they are so natural and that applies to all four, but especially the women... Give them their privacy... let them in peace and private
Love, Love, Love ABBA….Always and Forever!💞
I have always loved ABBA, even through the years when it wasn't cool to love ABBA. I was especially touched at their tribute to Olivia Newton-John, my all time favorite singer, upon her passing on August 8, 2022. They had a special friendship with ONJ.
I have just discovered this documentary. It seems legit and includes some rare footage. Thank you for posting. ❤
Anna Frida’s hair do is so beautiful , it looks nice
Frida is a nasty so-and-so and its about time people realised.
Those years of longing for a reunion came true for me. Personally, I didn't need an album or a tour or even one more song. I've wanted one thing. A picture of the four of them, just them. For as much as thier songs made me feel good, hearing that Musical joy was always enhanced to a thrill when I saw them together in the many shorts of the past. 💓
Really fantastic documentary;so well done and respectful...no gossip or guessing. They all four have left such amazing musical legacies...to last forever.Thank you for posting!!
I agree. ABBA was such a great singing group. I was in high school when they were a huge group. Their music creates a happy atmosphere of hope and joy that reflects the 70's and early 80's that we will never see again sadly. I wish we could go back to those days. Life was so much easier and less complicated without technology to invade every crevice of life.
ABBA's music will be around forever. It's a legacy of that era that will not leave us. 🎤🎶🎸🎹❤
It's not respectful to claim that Frida's mother committed suicide. Especially since it's probably not true. Frida has never talked about the cause her mother's death.
Glad you enjoyed it
Very nice and refreshing documentary, something new about... Especially now, at these days of Ring Ring anniversary and Agnetha' birthday, thank you for sharing 👍👍♥️
Agnetha faltskog is the most beautiful gorgeous adorable angel we love you forever ❤️ 💜 💖 💕 😊 😘 ❤️ 💜 💖 💕
"Shine" really needs to be re-evaluated. It's truly a wonderful album, with "Don't Do It" (written by Frida in her songwriting debut) as one of the album's best tracks.
I very much enjoy "Come to Me (I am Woman)". The lead single, "Shine", is also pretty good. But it's not as strong an album as Something's Going On or Djupa andetag. I wish they would have mentioned Frida's brilliant a Capella version of "Dancing Queen" with The Real Group as well as the heartbreaking "The Sun Will Shine Again". She also did a brilliant cover of "Fire and Ice" by Pat Benatar live.

This documentary is amazing ABBA to me has been a big part of my life especially when I saw them at Wembley Arena in 1979 fabulous concert. That’s why I call them the Swedish Fab Four their music will live forever
The movie should have mentioned B&B’s writing music for other artists, like Gemini, Josefin Nelson, etc. who also carried the recognizable ABBA sound.
This year is 2024, date 6/4/24, 50 years to the day they won the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton, UK. Where have all those years gone? Thank you for the music ABBA. You have brought so much joy to so many generations. We love you!❤❤❤❤❤❤

i tell u what abba was just before my time i am a 80's rocker so when i got on utube one day i found them and it hit me ! done !
Their comeback album was great....wish they'd make a few more songs..?
Yes exakt...Amen!...Du hast die perfekte Analyse der ABBA Situation in schönen Worten geschrieben ....Respekt...Grandios...Thank you for the Commentar ...
Loved them then and still do. I live in the US and can't afford to travel to see Voyage so hoping they stream it eventually. I would pay to see it

This is a rather nice documentary made in particular for an anglophone audience. It is a pity that so many people cannot enjoy the ABBA members superb output in Swedish during all those years. However, it is appropriate to remember that this format includes only some 15-20 seconds per person and year. Many thanks.
I hate this style documentaries. Totally UK centric with lots of nasty speculations and bs. Other than that, I agree with your points.
