it wasn’t hard to predict. in Israel no one was surprised by tge reaction, only a little bit - by the shortness of the “grace period”. we expected at least a few days of compassion, and didn’t expect this level of jubilation among the Westerners, starting the same day.

Superb. Love the longer format. I highly recommend Melanie's memoir, "Guardian Angel". I've read it several times and bought two as presents. Bought the novel from Amazon, but it got destroyed in transit!!! Her written pieces on her blog are superb. Whether one agrees or disagrees, her writing is of the highest quality. Pleased that you will be interviewing scientists on all sides of the climate debate. As an ex Leftie, who voted Brexit, won't dismiss Trump as a c**t and suspects that the CO2 theory of climate change is a cover for Marxist activism, alternative viewpoints are long overdue. The Left has driven itself and is driving all of us, insane.

You don't have to through the CO2 baby out with the Marxist bathwater to make the case. There remains solid reason to believe excess CO2 will change climate over time, and that given the challenges and finite nature of fossil fuels there is good reason to rationally transition to a nuclear/hydrogen/ammonia based economy within the next few decades. That is not the problem - the real and immediate threat is a zombie anti-human 'de-growth' ideology that would reset humanity back into the pre-Industrial era and celebrate the consequential death of billions as a wonderful thing.

Phew. I'm very scared to comment on that (but I am gonna). I think it interesting to see how blinkered she is regarding who behaves well and who doesn't, who is telling porkies and who isn't and therefore what the truth really is. The glee with which she celebrated the against the odds victory in the first war was telling. I too visited Israel shortly after 2000 and the second intifada. What I witnessed was lots of folks from the Iraeli/Jewish camp boasting how they had hoodwinked the international community by bending the agreements - for example, not building new settlements, as agreed, but circumventing that by extending other nearby settlements. I suspect that, because I worked for an Israeli company, they thought I too would be blindly partisan. Naturally, there are miscreants on both sides here but adopting an attitude that one side can do no wrong and refusing to see anything from the other side (for example, claiming the nomads there have no rights because they hadn't defined the lands as a country) will not get towards a conclusion. Last point, sorry about the rant, but can we not consider that the offers to the Palestinian community were rejected because they were unfair? How fair has the behaviour been lately - for example, building a massive illegal wall? Here I'm wishing for some honest open debate and a move away from this blind hypocrisy (I am ever the optimist). ❤

I think it has to do with gaps between traditional Jews, Zionist Jews, the Israeli nation, and foreign Jews like her. She is going to support all of them despite their disagreements with each other, because she supports a Jewish identity. At the end of the day it was and is Jewish land, so any argument about who owns it don't matter, just how we get there. Israel supports West Bank settlers, who are a totally different group closer to foreign Zionist, but on paper Israel has to only honor its international borders. A lot of the traditional Jews are anti-zionist (due to Islamic propaganda or Jewish guilt imo). Then you have ethnic Jews who were forced from their Arab homes into Israel.
Ultimately yeah her points are all correct, but a bit biased and lead to a hypocritical situation once you blend the viewpoints.

My journey is ongoing but I would share views much more aligned to traditional conservatism these days. Another great show this week. Interesting to hear Melanie's take on left-wing antisemitism, i can't help drawing parallels with much of the anti-white rhetoric that we hear from the far left also.
There's a difference between taking a leap of faith and a leap in probability. Physicists do not simply theorize some obscure idea like string or quantum theory based on no evidence whatsoever, like the religious do, they take logical and mathematical tests and equations that point towards something more, like their theories. It is most certainly NOT a leap of faith and to degrade modern physics in such a way is actually sort of insulting.
