If the 50 cal recoil is truly similar to 12 gauge shotgun, then it shouldn't be that bad. I think what would be most difficult would be holding the thing up though, since it looks like it weighs a ton.
You would be correct. This setup weighs around 45 lbs
12 gauge with *slugs* at 3" can kick like a mule
It's more of a firm push/shove than anything else. Maybe at best a mildly bruised shoulder but it's not painful to shoot. The big buffer spring and muzzle brake take a lot of the energy away from you.
Having used that .50 cal and many others the only reason that platform s recoil is compared to a 12 gage is due to the fact of that muzzle brake and the fact that that barrel recoils 2 inches into itself after it's been fired,. If it wast for the brake or the barrel recoiling in it would be more like shooting a African big game double rifle say like a 700 Nitro express both barrels at the same time , and when shooting that fifty say 5 time fast you can still get a runny nose !

Feet placement….. lean your mass into the gun to catch the weight….. bend your knees to help absorb extra energy. Have a firm grip, the gun itself helps hold it down.
If you can afford to shoot it,you can lean forward shoot

Fun fact such a thing pretty much exist the Barret was a variant of lmg version from ww2 it was used to pierce armor tank armour but alot of people just used it for laying down rounds down range it had only 12 bullets I think in each clip

@L0STxL3G3ND he uses the canted sight for finding targets. If you've ever looked down a scope you have a limited FOV. You use the red dot to look and aim to a target and use the scope for precision.

@@Jordan-im8gp I have an M82, you don’t even need to control it well, it doesn’t recoil hard at all. My .270 and .450 bushmaster kick way more. The recoil on these is way over exaggerated, the muzzle blast is way worse. You’ll be covered in grass from the muzzle blast but that’s it.

I laughed about your comment on the recoil. I was always intimidated by the idea of shooting .50 BMG, but I regularly shoot 3" 12 gauge slugs while breaking in my semiauto shotgun.
I mean its true. Those shotguns can kick way more then this 50. The gun does a lot for you
Its the truth. I had the pleasure of shooting one as well way back and its surprisingly soft. My 308 bolt action I had at the time hit more that the .50
