IIRC The Kitchen Fight was the choreography they came up with before The Raid, but wanted a bigger movie to put it in - so they went and made The Raid first.
Agree that this movie sprawls too much compared to the first, but some of the camera work, cinematography etc is just incredible, even to this day.

Easily the best reaction to The Raid 2 I've seen. Glad somebody gets as hyped as I do watching these kinds of movies.
When you mentioned wanting to have the main guy go against real MMA fighters, the movie Warrior came to mind. It's heralded as the 'Titanic for men'. Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy star in it and they actually had to get in shape to keep up with real MMA fighters who show up in the movie, like Kurt Angle. Nick Nolte also co stars in an amazing support role. You will love that, Ash. It's also a deep-cutting emotional experience. One of the greatest and most underrated MMA films of the last decade. And one of the best films that touch on family issues and the importance of having a father in a household.
Kurt angle never competed in mma. He was a Olympic wrestler and wwe star.

Well about Julie estelle aka. The Hammer Girl. She was never been into action movies before (she didnt even know martial arts). She had to go for a training for like 6 months for the sake of this movie and well. It pays off great. So far she's been in Headshot (another indonesian martial arts movie) and TNCFU as the operator (no wonder she looked so badass)

I mentioned this on the video of The Raid, but Avengement and The Foreigner are great martial arts movies. More unknown, but amazing. The final fight in Avengement is one of the best.

Said it for years kitchen fight scene is the best martial arts fight scene I’ve ever seen in a movie period. Proper martial artists actually doing the scenes instead of stunt men then phasing it into the Hollywood actor which is ass.

Have you seen many early Jackie Chan movies? There are a lot that are really great. Its a very different style, most of Jackie's movies are a lot more comedic, but the fight scenes are still top tier. I would recommend "Legend of Drunken Master" "Police Story" and "Who Am I" just to name a few. Fantastic reaction as always!!

Check out Gangs Of London developed by Gareth Evans, he directed the first episode and the 5th episode, the shootout on episode 5 is an absolute standout.
Can't disagree certainly some of the best fight scenes. My absolute favorite fight scene is surprisingly not from a martial arts movie. It's the church scene in Kingsman: The Secret Service. If you haven't seen it you owe it to yourself to watch it asap. The premise is ok and the story is a little corny. But that church scene makes up for all of it. One of the craziest shot fight scenes I've ever seen. The director was pure genius and the choreography had to have been insane to shoot. Truly one of the most underrated fight scenes in history.
