Rimutaka Cycle Trail - Wairarapa

The Ocean Beach to Orongorongo section of the Rimutaka Cycle Trail was one of the most scenic cycle trails we've experienced. Yes, it is challenging for the semi-experienced.
There are panoramic vistas across the Cook Straight and you can see the Kaikoura Ranges on a clear day.
We were lucky to have scored two perfect days to cycle from Ocean Beach to Orongorongo which was 30km round trip and took us just over 3 hours to complete.
There was slips to negotiate and some stream crossings which just made it more interesting.

Vanners thanks for your feedback. There is certainly a lot to see and do in the area and we also would love to go back for another visit and do more sections of the trail.
