  • Episode 11, Season 2 of Reveal New Zealand from Marlborough Sounds and we're doing the Queen Charlotte Track hike, one of the best NZ walks. From Furneaux Lodge to Punga Cove is... ✪ Take a look at campervan options for your trip here - www.motorhomerepublic.com
    Welcome back to the Marlborough Sounds of New Zealand... it's about time we took a hike to burn off some of the calories we've been eating and drinking! We're tackling a portion of the Queen Charlotte Track, a really popular New Zealand hike trail, as we make our way between Furneaux Lodge and Punga Cove.
    The Queen Charlotte Track is about 72km of coastal trail deep in the Marlborough Sounds, winding around various different sounds, bays and inlets. There's plenty of tales about Captain Cook in this part of NZ after his various trips to the area, a few of the bays with names reflecting those voyages.
    As for the hike, it's a beautiful coastal track with plenty of great stops along the way with views as well. Not too steep, not too flat, not too maintained and not too raw - it's a nice blend of adventure, scenery and nature.
    Prices at Punga Cove depend on whether you book a suite, apartment, studio, chalet or basecamp room. Prices also vary from season to season and any specific offers they have on - www.pungacove.co.nz

    Hey guys. I have been watching your series together with my wife and son as we prepare to relocate to NZ at the end of the month. It's so great to see all the opportunities that lie before us as we return to my home and begin our new life in NZ together. I'm from Nelson myself so it's great to enjoy all the beauty my corner of the world has to offer! Thank you so much for all this good stuff.

    I'm always in such awe of people who live in remote communities such as the ones you talked about. Life feels so fast paced living in London and even the idea of not having something like a dishwasher makes me wonder where I'd get the time needed to hand wash. The idea of having to stock up on food, be that organised when doing a supermarket shop etc. just feels crazy! That A frame cabin that you stayed in was so cute! I can not wait to do this hike myself - the sounds of the wildlife were beautiful in this video ❤️❤️❤️

However, I had a bad experience once riding a bike right after a trip to the pub. Let's just say, Bandaids and aseptic were used. Awesome guys. Looks gorgeous! The longer the walk the better. Such a nice "shnack" location en route. A question if I may. In your opinions, where is the nicest place to live in New Zealand North Island. Looking at it from a perspective of someone who is a lover of the outdoors, hiking, growing their own veggies, and dislikes intense humidity (in the sense that you don't have to watch out for mildew 😆), used to a fair amount of sunshine and yeah... ?

    • @Andy_M986

      Anywhere near the coast around Coromandel,it has beaches and hills,with tracks all over the place. Or Taupo,Mt Doom is on the far end of there. Basically anywhere you go, you're never far from beaches or mountains in New Zealand. The bigger the city,the more it costs to live there.

    • @Toucan432
      @Toucan432 Před 3 lety +2

      I would add Matakana/ Warkworth with it's food markets and beaches (1 hour approx north of Auckland). Also Whangarei and the Tutukaka coast (2 - 3 hours north of Auckland). And maybe even Raglan a surf town 1 hour approx from Hamilton City. Or further up north like Kerikeri which is in the heart of the Bay of Islands ( 3 - 4 hours approx north of Auckland). Another goodie is Tauranga City and The Mount area, If in the South Island I would recommend Nelson City which is close to Moetueka/Golden bay/Kaiteriteri etc......

Honestly anywhere we get the opportunity to work and live will be more than perfect, but if we have a choice we decided a long time ago that just outside of Hamilton seems perfect, even though a lot of people say it is quite humid 🤷🏻‍♀️... . I doubt it is anywhere as humid as where we are currently.
