- As promised to all my hegie lovers out there, here is a new hedgehog video. It's just a short video of bonding time with Teazel. It features her being cute, eating cilantro, and anointing.

I just got my hedgehog and she is the sweetest thing in the world considering that i got her from the pet shop she is really tame and kind with humans the reason for it is the maintainance staff.,., they like to rubb them ,pet them ,love them and care for them ,,,and they are always sad to see them go...

I got my hegie last week from a breeder and she acts just like teasel in this video
they actually do the saliva thing to make sure that they'll remember your smell or the smell of the things they're not so familiar with..^^

youd be suprised. Heidi doesnt chew the carpet at all. or the furniture. for pets that chew you can get sprays to discourage them that taste bitter. used to work for my dog i had a few years back. you could always put lino (vinyl?) down to replace the carpet ;P im going to pull up the carpet in the animal room and put vinyl down. more hygenic and less messy. i wouldnt be without Heidi. shes such great company. i dont mind her begging me for attention - i prefer that to aloof pets! x
thanks! i actually want more rabbits in the future hehe. Heidi is booked in for her op on 1st Feb and once shes recovered im going to get her a bunny boyfriend! will be nice for her to have a pal. can watch them grooming, playing and sleeping together =) have also considered a big outdoor set up for some more buns... theyre addictive! such great personalities =) x
She's adorable! Haha I'm so used to seeing my very dark chocolate hedgie that she seems amazingly light around her face! It's great she loves cilantro so much. I don't actually know what is it, but be heard it's the same as coriander. Do you know if this is true? Thank you so much :D

Yea i must have had somthing on my hand i couldnt smell i held him today and he wasnt as bad but he does bite others alot more than he does to me

ughhhh, mine will never eat cilantro ;[ Even tried kinda rolling it around in her dry cat food to get the scent. What other vegs u recommend?
you can try cooked carrot, green bell peppers, strawberries without the seeds, apples, peaches, bananas, honeydew melon, hard boiled eggs, watermelon, blueberries. For worms you can also try mealworms, waxworms, butterworms, silkworms, crickets.
Kitty Sama Going to try a few. I've had no luck with mealworms / bananas in the past. Right now I'm giving cooked carrot and hard boiled eggs a try.
Hedgehogs are just like little toddlers. They are picky eaters! xD When I wanted to get a hedgehog I searched everything they can have so I have a huge list of everything you can try for your hedgehog if you'd like. It has been known for hedgehogs to just like their cat food.
I've been feeding my hedgie some blueberries and some peas. Fresh ones though.I have had some luck with mealworms (live ones) and some beetles as well.

I had guinea pigs all my life want a hedgie but cant cuz their illegal to own in pennsylvania but my guinea pigs always layed right against my thigh/crotch i guess it would of been for warmth really want a hedgie but cant have one :(
I was wondering if I could email you i'm wanting to get a hedgie but I have lots of questions and the pet store employees here are very rude and don't exactly answer my questions upfront
what you could so is contact a breeder in your state and just ask some questions. You dont have to purchase a hedgie from the breeder, but it helps to get information.
