In summary, hedgehogs make great pets for adults and more mature children since they do have quills and can be very moody. Some people adopt them thinking that they're a cuddly pet and then are disappointed to find a grumpy, hissing pet that they can't even pick up. It takes a lot of time and patience to tame a hedgehog. However, they really are fairly easy maintenance compared to other small pets. I personally think that they are fantastic pets.

Personally, I like them being nocturnal. Once I'm done with school and homework, it's mostly dark. I got in and Mocha runs up to the bowl and I feed him, he eats, and then I pick him up and he tried to play tug-o-war with my sweatshirt or pants xD

I'm being serious right now, and it's probably because it's late at night, but honestly I think I am the human version of a hedgehog😂grumpy, nocturnal, sensitive to cold, doesn't need an abundance of space. (Researching to buy a hedgehog RN and I feel like it's time to sleep now)😬

I have 6 guinea pigs I love them sooooo much
C&C cages are homemade: u buy the grids and whatever u are using for the base as well as zip ties and u build it. There are several videos on CZcams on how to build one for rabbits or guinea pigs but its really the same process for a hedgehog

I got my hedgehog a while ago, I got her for only $50 because she was older and the breeder really wanted her to get a good home so I got to talk her down to $50. I love my hedgehog so so so so so much! She is the best! I say that everyone should have one XD. She is truly the greatest pet I have never had. I love hedgehogs

i was wondering if it was ok if i could just put a few meal worms in my hedges cat food. i don't know if my hedgie will only eat the meal worms or it will be fine for me to just put some meal worms in her cat food. hello! i had a guinea pig for over a year now and everything is quite good with him..but the huge disappointment for me was guinea pigs r pooping machines xD like had to clean it so often cause the cage will stink :l but im thinking about getting a hedgie tho..are they less work when it comes to cage cleaning compared to piggies? :)
Bit surprised that hedgehog is expensive over there. I got mine only around 20$ in my local breeder, she is healthy, active and all. Of course there is one that cost 100$ too but most of the breeds in my country cost less than that.

Curious Go on your search engine(Ex: Google) and search live hedgehogs for sale then your city and state.You also need to make sure that their legal in your state.

hedgehogs self anoint. they eat something they like the scent of and chew it up to a froth and put it on themselves, chances are she ate something green and did that.

As she explained, They are pretty grumpy and you need to be very patient and kids don't tend to have much patience. I recommend being at least 13 and mature

somebody just gave me the hedgehog but i think they just found him somewhere and adopted him randomly...
Petstore hedgehogs tend to be more skittish/mean/bitey because they didn't get the proper care as a young hedgehog. Or the breeder didn't care for it like it was supposed to be cared for (idk if this applies to your situation, im just giving possible reasons haha)
