    Taho is basically is a soft tofu. if you have tried Japanese miso soup it sometime have tafu in it. so its a soft tofu with "arnibal" (caramelized brown sugar) and tapiocal pearls or mini boba.. very popular snack or as a breakfast replacement if you're on the go. typically being sold in the morning , office workers love often have taho to perk them up as it best served hot (but not coffee hot), it also nice to have taho after a jogging or a workout.

    Taho is like a Tofu pudding in brown sugar syrup with Tapioca pearls. Yummy! Great when still hot and fresh or warm👍

    The guy who served you did not explain further about the taho, it’s made with silken tofu, tapioca pearls and arnibal(brown sugar syrup), you see this served out in the streets early morning and can be also eaten as a breakfast as the vendors are already out early morning. The vendor usually would walk the streets shouting TAHO!

    The spot you've been is just an average buffet place. Buffet spots in Manila has way more food options from breakfast to dinner choices, international and local dishes. If you have the budget you gotta try Spiral buffet in Sofitel Manila they even have their own wine and cheese room which is from different parts of the world. You can even create your own pizza with whatever toppings you can think of and cooked on a stone brick oven. They have way more sea food options than the average franchise buffet place scattered across the Philippines. Best time to be there is early lunch or early dinner coz every food served is hot and fresh from the kitchen.

    A no leftover policy? 😢😤😅that’s what I hate from some buffets lol 😅 Well, it seems unfair to me because what if I don't like the food I served? Although on the other hand I understand their policy because it is horrible to waste food…..

    • @severedproxy
      @severedproxy Před měsícem

      That's why you take small servings first. Some people just take too much of something they don't know the taste of and then when they don't like it, they just leave a ton on their plates that just get thrown away. Reminds me of my buddy who took a whole plate of lamb then just left it after a bite since he didn't like the taste.

    Are you sure you’re in the Philippines? Because when you talked about cheese, the Philippines hash cheese wherever you go, Jessica, what are you talking about? You make it seem like the Philippines is this country that doesn’t have this and that, you can find cheese everywhere and yes, they do have cheese in the Philippines. They have dishes and desserts that has cheese, cheese is not hard to find in the Philippines just to let you know!

    • @severedproxy
      @severedproxy Před měsícem +1

      I think she meant the variety of cheeses MOST people eat.
      Yeah, cheese is everywhere, but it's 80% cheddar, 20% others. (Mostly just goat, parmesan and mozzarella)
      Yes, we have most other cheese as well but most people don't consume it. If you say you, your family or friends eat it, then you're most likely from a well off family/community.

    SOY AND TOFU??? tofu is soy.
    that's what's annoying sometimes with Filipinos explaining the food to foreigners. staff in the food service industry really need to train so they can do a better job at describing the food, especially that food vlogging is a common thing now. some people are really keen when it comes to the ingredients of the food they are and how they're cooked and if they don't really understand what's in it or how it's prepared, sometimes you don't get to set expectations properly.
    taho is simply silken tofu, simple sugar (arnibal) and sago pearls or tapioca.
