I agree, that’s why i love the Philippines because food can be so cheap. Here in the US that amount is something you’d spend for just a burger meal at mcdonalds lol.

@@ronnienestor almost, I exaggerated a bit because the cost of a burger meal is very close to the price. Sometimes when we are lazy to cook, I buy Mcdonalds for 3 people, and it easily costs 40ish dollars. And that’s junkfood, when we eat out in a not so expensive restaurant, food for 3 is easily 70-100 dollars. In the Philippines, i can order from grub, and get mcdonalds for less than a thousand pesos for 3 people. The difference in prices are more than double. Think about it, mom duty and her family spent 18 dollars for food with different lots of choices, not fastfood. They spent 72dollars which is 4000 pesos +. If they were to eat im mcdonalds, a meal for 4 will cost them 50-60 dollars depending on if they buy desserts too.
@@MomDuty true! Even jollibee is expensive here now lol. When i go to the nearest jollibee in our area, a bucket of chicken and family pack burger steak and a few yum burgers easily cost me 80 bucks, it’s insane for a jollibee. I can get the exact order in the Philippines for a thousand pesos lol.

Sofitel is closing next month June 30 😔… if you want to try the buffet, better do it soon ! It’s worth the experience.
Everybody that went to spiral buffet is the best buffet they had in the Philippines, it's expensive but it's worth it
There are 2 Vikings buffet in BGC. First one is The Alley in High stree. Second is Niu at Sm Aura
Which one is better?

When people mention Vikings buffet it's most likely the MAIN buffet -- the one in SM by the Bay is my fave branch. But Niu by Vikings is my favorite. Just a little more high end than reg Vikings (free wine/alcohol) and some premium menu. But somehow it's changed through the years -- not too many options anymore for liquor. But I'm guessing weekends are best. They put out more options coz there are more diners.

I've always wondered about the fees at a buffet. If you have to pay for leftovers shouldn't you then be able to take it home? I've never come across one that allows it. But this places looks yummy!

Spiral is very good but if you’re not a buffet person then it is not worth the P5k price. Excellent food choices and taste is excellent - It is worth trying for the experience. Buffets are just reopening after the pandemic, hopefully, they go back to pre-pandemic quality. I agree with your rating of Alley - good price with decent food, and ideal place for a group party.
Ok good to know!👌Yeah definitely not worth the 5k you’re not a buffet person. But I heard the quality of food at Spiral is top notch.
5K/ person is very expensive and if you’re not a buffet person, it’s a waste of money esp. if you’re going with the whole family and you easily get full. You need to be very hungry so you have more room in your stomach to taste the foods you don’t normally eat. Go for the lunch buffet instead or brunch on Sundays ( alcohol drinks included ) ‘cause it is less expensive. Spiral is a high end buffet plus it’s inside a luxurious hotel. People usually go there to splurge once in a while and for special occasion.

Fun food tour!!!! Interesting that the kid's prices are based on height. Here in Ontario Canada, we have a large Chinese/Canadian Buffet (29 locations) that is very popular and has been open for 45 years. . The kid's prices are based on age. A lower price for ages 5 -12 and free for 4 years and younger. Many buffets did not survive covid; but, this one did.

I know right?! It was 1 1/2 years ago. The end of 2022😭 My baby grew up out of nowhere🥹
To be completely honest, that was the least appealing Vikings Buffet I have seen.. I was at the one at the Mall of Asia (the one at the baywalk) and the one in Cebu.. They were all fine for me and just like a buffet is supposed to be! :D
I dislike the concept of having different stalls far away from each other - thats not a streetfood market after all.. when I go to a buffet, I go there to have all options at one location, where I can go and fill my plate with the things I like without first having to search them.. And I am sure until you are back at the table the food is already cold.
Also, the selection on that particular Vikings was a bit underwhelming. Maybe also a problem of this failed concept - if you have big, like rectangular or oval sections, you have a lot of cooks at one place that can help each other out where people are needed. Also this helps for making food fresh.
In the other Vikings, you tell what you want in your stir fry, in your pasta, in your omelette, and they create it for you on demand, fresh and hot.
In your video, at almost none of the stalls there was personell at all :D
But its a while ago so maybe Vikings are just going downhill currently
