- I'm trying the new Lisa Eldridge Lipsticks for summer 2022 today. I've got 6 new Luxuriously Lucent Lipsticks and 2 new Insanely Saturated Lipsticks. I'm also including comparison swatches of these new shades to previous releases in this line.

Hi! I’m new to your channel and I wanted to thank you for such a great review! The swatch comparisons were so helpful to get the right color idea about them. I have several of her lipsticks too and I use them all the time all year round.
Lisa's lipsticks are my absolute favorite! They are the ones I reach more than any others. There are only 5 that I don't have. (Velvet Decade, Velvet Carnival, Rosey Shell, Dance Card, and Sunday Matinee)
I'm trying only to get the shades I'll use, but these are quickly pushing other lipsticks out of the limelight in my collection.

From a blog called "Beauty Critiques and Mysterious DEETS" (July 5, 2021): "Go Lightly is the only shade no longer available. This shade is quite neon and a bit too bright for me, and it has a white base that doesn’t sit the best on dry lips. Dance Card is a very similar shade, just more muted and wearable." There is an arm swatch of both and the Dance Card does look like an easier shade to wear to me, similar to Kitten Mischief (also swatched) but a little more peach.
Thanks so much for this helpful reply. Go Lightly is my least used shade from the brand. I don't prefer peachy shades, so I don't wear it frequently. I much prefer Je Ne Sais Quoi. (I'm actually wearing it today) I haven't picked up Dance Card because I just don't wear peach shades enough. I almost skipped Je Ne Sais Quoi for the same reason, but I'm glad to have it. It's more wearable in my opinion. 😉

I love these! Mine arrived yesterday. I got Je Ne Se Quoi, Wonder Wheel, Palazzo and Meet Me in Berlin. I'm really happy with them and love the creamy formula. I always budget for her releases because I know I'll want more than one.

These are all such lovely shades. I didn't expect to like Le Méprit. I picked it up for comparison and review purposes, but I really like it. It's stunning on all of the models, and I love that Lisa creates shades that work so well on a variety of undertones.

I'm so glad that it's helpful. I really enjoy the Luxuriously Lucent formula. It's what I'm enjoying for daily wear. I like the comforting, but sheer tint. It's buildable, but impactful. I've been reaching for Strawberry Shock and Meet Me In Berlin a lot recently. As a red lipstick lover, in also head over heels for Palazzo.
You made a wonderful video about LisaEldridge lipsticks. I got 4 new ones and Atomic Cherry. It was the first time I tried the Insanely Saturated formula ( got Sunday Matinee and New Wave) And they are so comfortable. Your description is spot on. ( you look also amazing in New Wave) ( I was nervous as well about that one, but it is so beautiful on the lips)
I think the reason that new wave is so good is it the undertone is perfect. I made a mistake in the video and said that it had a Coral lean to it, when I should have said it has an orchid lean to it. 🤦♀️
I didn't actually expect it to look as good on me as it does. It's kind of like the dark horse in all of these lipsticks. The one I never expected to love, and it's moving swiftly to the front of the pack.

I was really looking forward to your video on this launch! Mine are coming in today! I bought Le Mespris, Meet Me In Berlin, and Night Thoughts. I love this formula so much as it’s so comfortable and wears down beautifully. I’m nervous about the beige nude as I’m in shade 13 but I know Lisa makes her colors nuanced and not deadening so I’m hopeful.
Lisa's ability to give a color shade and range is the only reason I picked up Le Méspris. I've tried so many nude beige lipsticks in the previous decades, and they all make me look like a corpse. I have to go to work this morning, and this is definitely going straight into my scrubs pocket!

Fun video! I did a lipstick declutter a couple of years ago and I recently ran out of nude lipstick. I saw this brand had good reviews and a good variety of shades so I’ll pick one up in the near future ! 😊
I love that you're keeping careful track of your lipsticks. I've never been able to do that because lipstick is my Achilles heel. I've always had more lipsticks than I could ever possibly wear, but I admire those who only purchase what they know they'll use.
I really love the formulas that Lisa develops. The mattes are comfortable, and non-drying. I also feel that her shade range is extremely nuanced, and looks good on a wide variety of skin tones. That's not always the case with other lipstick brands. I also feel like her shades are unique, and aren't run of the mill.
The Velvet lipsticks have a beautiful range of nude shades, but if you love a glossier lip formula, you might like Le Méprit or Kitten Mischief from the Luxuriously Lucent line.

The only reason I picked up New Wave, was because of how it looked on all the models. It looked so pretty on everyone, and so wearable. Night Thoughts is such a beautiful shade. It's a bit deeper and more plummy than Velvet Blush, but very much in the same color family.

I'm really enjoying both, and have been using then more than expected since they arrived. They're both great for those long work days. Neutral with a bit of shine and lots of comfort.
Ooooo, so fun!! I really wish she sent out samples of her lip colors, because I'd be really curious to see if any of these work on me, but I don't want to buy them just to find out.
That said, I'm not sad about sticking to my comfort zone, because I ordered Night Thoughts and love it even more after seeing your video! I also decided to take a risk on Rainbow Spill considering how beloved it is! I can't wait for mine to show up 😁

I wish she also would sample her lipsticks. I know Charlotte Tilbury does, and it would be a great way to let people try them on since they're not available in stores. I'd even be willing to pay for a lipstick card with four different shades. Who knows, maybe it's something they're working on.

This is my first foray into Lisa's lipsticks. I ordered New Wave and one of the existing velvets ... Blush Lightly. I'm so excited to finally try them. I think that Meet Me in Berlin and Night Thoughts I may go back and grab.
Blush Lightly is one of my most used matte lipsticks. I have the original Blush shade, and always wished it wasn't quite as intense. When Lisa released Blush Lightly, it was the first thing on my list. I wear it all the time.

Hi Lipstick Gal. I have been following you off and on . Great vid. Like you, I LOVE Lisa Eldridge's products, especially the lipsticks and I use them EVERY DAY!.I gave my daughter a couple of her lippies as well. My favourites are Velvet Blush and Ribbon, and Skyscraper Rose, But I have other shades as well. As you say her colours are so unique and each one has a "je ne se quoi" subtlety about them.
I am on a no buy this month to protest against the reverse of Roe Vs Wade, but I hope next month to purchase one or two of her new shades and Rainbow Spill, which I've been waiting almost two years for.❤

Velvet Ribbon is my all time favorite red lipstick. Palazzo might give it a run for it's money, but I'm glad to have so many.
I love how pigmented and bright many of her shades are. They just beg to be used daily.
My daughter had also fallen in love with Lisa's lipsticks, but isn't quite ready to pay $36 each. (she's 14) Right now, she's using mine. I just ask that she not remove them from my bedroom. I'd hate to lose one.
Every one looks wonderful on you. So far I got a new one of each of the formulas but you're making me want more, esp Palazzo and Night Thoughts. I am pale, freckled, and cool-toned, but I just LOVE my new Wonder Wheel! I also got Sunday Matinee, which was warmer on me than I expected, but certainly works as an everyday lipstick that helps to brighten my face. Her lipsticks have a way of brightening my face that no other lipsticks seem to accomplish.
I love how delicious these lipsticks feel when applied. They're so comfortable to wear. I might eventually pick up Sunday Matinee because someone said it was similar, but still different when compared to Velvet Petal. Velvet Petal is a favorite shade of mine, and I lived in it all winter and spring. It's so lovely.

@@thelipstickgal Yes, Sunday Matinee reminds me of a more intense Velvet Petal. It is special because it's not too dark, but it also seems to have a lot of pigment, and to me has more dimension (that is the best way I can explain it, even though it is matte) than Velvet Petal. I do think you would get use out of Sunday Matinee if you wear Velvet Petal a lot.

I think I might have mentioned it a little bit in this video, but the Velvet lipsticks have a little bit more staying power. They wear better under a mask for me then the Insanely Saturated lipsticks. I get less smudging, and less transfer. I think it's because the formula is a little bit drier. Let's not mix up the dryer formula with a drying formula. I don't think that the Velvet lipsticks ever dry my lips out. I always start with a layer of hydration straight out of the shower, and I wear it until I wipe it off right before applying my lip color.
I've never had problems with any of Lisa's lip formulas drying my lips out even a little bit.
I feel like the insanely saturated lipsticks have just as much pigment, but the shades are punchier. They're just as nuanced in the color choices, but I feel like all four of the insanely saturated lipsticks I have are the ultimate statement lipstick. I also feel like it's a little plusher and pillowier on the lips. I hope that distinction is helpful.

I tend to go for the Mattes as I have smaller lips than you and the very sheer lipsticks love to slide right off of me lol No matter what I do. I think the saturated formula as you described is going to be a happy medium for me! I need a little punch with color sometimes. I have dark chocolate brown hair with light hazel gold eyes and I get washed out easily. You have such gorgeous skin and hair tones! Everything is perfection on you 😊💕
@@diane5908 you're too kind. The one thing that's always been really encouraging to me is to look at the models on her website. I love that her models have such a wide range of skin tones, and every single shade looks sublime on each one. It's some sort of magic. I've seen other brands do lipstick swatches on different skin tones, and you can tell which shades don't work on specific skin tones. I don't feel like Lisa has that problem. They're all pretty awesome. For me, it comes down to preference. I don't wear a lot of peach lipstick, so I don't buy peach lipstick. I don't wear a lot of pink lipstick unless it's a punchy pink, so I don't buy basic pink lipstick.
Half of the shades in this order were once I picked up just to review, I wasn't expecting to like them. New Wave, Le Méprit, Meet Me in Berlin, and Je Ne Sais Quoi we're all ones I didn't think I'd love. Itv was a delightful surprise that they all look so good on me. I feel like Lisa creates lipstick magic.
wow, you're so lucky, I think you have a very similar complexion to Lisa's so they fit you perfectly!! as a POC with tan skin it's always hit or miss for me, but I'm so excited to receive my picks, je ne sais quoi, le mepris and meet me in berlin. Enjoy your new lippies!!

I've always felt that my neutral undertone makes wearing most lipstick shades easy for me. I really love that Lisa uses a wide variety of models for her lipsticks. I feel like out of most creators, she's really the best at making sure the lighter lipstick shades don't end up looking chalky or overly white on richer skin tones. I've always felt like her lipsticks look incredible on every single model. I definitely would not have picked up the lightest shade Le Méprit if I hadn't seen the swatches on all 6 if her models. MAC lipstick, I wouldn't even have considered it. MAC lipsticks b lighter shades are always too chalky and milky. They make me look terrible. 🤷♀️
I just stumbled across this great channel this evening. I did watch Brie Moore who straddles the Tan/deep border like myself. I was pretty confident in my picks of Berlin, New wave, Je ne said quoi.
Brie Moore also got Le Mepris. But this video has also pointed out how versatile Lisa’s lipsticks are on many skin tones. I’m sure we will all enjoy ours!

If you haven't already, check out the models on her website. They all look so pretty in all the shades. I feel like she's created lipsticks for everyone!
Her shades are also extremely nuanced. They're unlike other shades from other brands. There's something different in the colors that makes them so wearable. I have so many shades from Lisa Eldridge that I would never pick up from another brand. I don't wear a lot of pink from other brands, I never buy peach lipsticks, or even browns. I feel like every single one of her shades are flattering on my skin tone. It's like lipstick magic. I don't understand it, but I'm very grateful for it. The formulations are so comfortable, and they last really well on the lips. That's why they're at the top of my list for favorite lipstick formulas.
I've never spent this much $$ on a lippie but these colors were so gorgeous I treated myself. I ordered Wonder Wheel and Night Thoughts and I can't wait to try them!
I know the price is really up there. Especially if you've never payed this much fora lipstick before. 😳
I always think of myself as a lipstick aficionado/snob, and these are my most beloved formula from my favorite brand.

The hand mirror came from a vintage resale shop. It was from a vanity set that got split up individually, so I only paid $7 for the mirror. It's stunning, and I'm so happy to have it. I know I got it for a steal!
There are only five lipsticks that Lisa makes that I don't have. Most of them are shades I just don't think I'd use enough. I'm trying to convince myself to stay strong, and not purchase what I don't think I'll use.
I might have that pink lipstick that she hasn't restocked. I think it's Go Lightly. It came out in her summer pink collection in 2019, and she's brought it out as a gloss, but not back as a lipstick shade yet. Someone else mentioned that she's working on bringing it back. It's pretty, but leans very peach on me.

The Velvet lipsticks are beautiful, and I have so many pink toned lipsticks in that formula. They are very nuanced, and don't come across as just a straight pink. My favorite, and most used is Velvet Petal. I also adore Velvet Blush Lightly.

Oh I understand you so well, initially I was like: I’m going to be good and only get Night Thoughts and New Wave, because those were the ones that grabbed my attention. Went, placed my order, boom, done. And then my brain started to trick me bc Strawberry Shock, Skyscraper Rose and Rainbow Spill look so delicious, and I got super sick after a horrendous night shift at the ER (my first one ever, heck of a trial by fire) and I placed another order. Either is yet to arrive but I long for the day when I won’t place multiple orders during a Lisa launch.
I always over purchase. I get anything that seems remotely interesting to me knowing that Lisa's undertones work well for me. I have the ad income from my CZcams channel, so I know ordering 8 of them isn't anywhere near normal.

I always feel like getting LE lipsticks is worth it for me. I'd rather pass on drugstore & other high end launches (Like Rare Beautys new lipsticks) so I can focus my beauty budget on these beautiful lipsticks from Lisa.
I have both Go Lightly and Dance Card and they're quite different. Go Lightly is more vibrant and brighter.

Le Mepris, Palazzo, and Night Thoughts are the most tempting for me. I heard Lexi Jong make some other high end lipstick recs I'm debating on too.
I'm going to have to look for that video. I love a high end lipstick, but want to be able to know what I'm getting into before plunking down the cold, hard cash. I love Painterly so much. It's such a beautiful wearable color. I like Meet Me in Berlin because it's not my usual shade. It pushes me outside of my comfort zone, but I'll probably wear it with only one or two swipes of color. I wasn't expecting to like Le Mepris. I really only purchased it for comparison and review purposes. I was so delighted that I really liked it, and it looked good on me when I put it on in this video. It's really been the surprise of the bunch.

I have both Go Lightly and Dance Card, they are similar but definitely different. Dance card is more subdued and in the nude category like a nude peach/coral while Go Lightly is more of a bright pink/coral.
Thanks so much for telling me the difference between the two. I prefer a pink leaning nude lipstick, so I probably won't pick up Dance Card. It's just not a shade I think I'll use much.

I also picked up 8 of the new shades! Very guilty but very happy. I skipped the lightest shade and rosy one in instanely saturated formula but now looking at your swatches, i regret not picking up that light shade… also dance card is not renamed shade, just very similar. Lisa promised to bring Go Lightly in the future!

I love Sunday Matinee! It is similar to velvet Petel, also is a more muted cousin of Rainbow Spill. If you are into pinks, then its a good choice. Its not as light on my light asian skin, just true muted barbie pink.

I've been purchasing lipsticks since her initial launch in Fall of 2018. Before these eight arrived, I had 24 lipsticks. Only one of them had problems. I think it's more likely because it's the one I use the most, and it jumbled around in my purse, my pocket, gets left in my car, and generally used and abused. It's the shade of Velvet Ribbon. I have never had a problem with any of the other lipsticks breaking.
I had some subscribers mention that they have, and they were able to get a refund or a replacement by simply contacting customer support.
I had all three tubes of my Enlivening Blush burst in June. It was an entire year after I purchased them. I wrote an email to customer service asking if they would consider putting the blush formula in different packaging. I said I wasn't looking for a refund, but rather wanted to make a recommendation. They insisted on issuing me a refund in the form of a gift card. I completely forgot about it as I was placing this order, or it wouldn't have cost me nearly as much. 🤦♀️
I really feel like customer support is amazing from this brand, and if you have any concerns or problems, just reach out to them. They're fabulous.

My 14 year old daughter is begging me for Palazzo. I told her if she wants one of her own, she's going to have to buy it herself. If it's a gift, it's likely to get lost or ruined. If she pays for it herself, she'll take the best care of it, and make it last. Once she purchases her first one and realizes how expensive and precious these are, to I'll get her some for Christmas or her birthday. I just won't buy the first one.

As much as I love luxury beauty, sometimes the drugstore is the answer. I searched for months for my wedding lipstick last year, and finally found what I had been searching for in a Revlon lipstick!

I'm trying to make sure that my daughter doesn't get immune to beautiful makeup living in this house. It would be easy for her to think that everyone has a collection like mine. (or worse, everyone needs a collection like mine.) I'm trying to make sure she appreciates how much she has to work to get just one luxury lipstick. That way she won't feel like she needs to have as much as me, and can appreciate having just a handful of perfect formulas and shades.

I don't know. 🤷♀️ I set an alarm, and I had my products ordered within the first 3 minutes of them being available on the website. Perhaps they ship things based on first come first serve. I don't know.
I was going to pay for expedited shipping, but I feel like the advantage that expedited shipping would give, has gone away in the last 2 years. I paid for expedited shipping last year, and it's still arrived a week later. 😠 I kind of live out in the middle of nowhere, and even FedEx isn't overnight anymore. Times, they are a changin'.

Well, you know that look. The one where a corpse looks better. Certain shades of nude lipstick make me look like that. I normally don't purchase shades a light as Le Méprit, but I'm so glad it looks soft and pretty.
Im very curious to know if any of your Lisa Eldridge lipsticks have broken? I’ve heard it in a couple of videos now and it makes me apprehensive to buy.
Only one. I have 33, and the one that broke got dropped several times before it snapped. I've heard that it's the velvets (matte formula) that have a tendency to break. Only one of mine has, and it's one of the ones I've had the longest and I've put through the mill. 🤷♀️

I love Velvet Petal. I wear it all the time. It's a my lips but better shade. I wasn't called to Sunday Matinee, but I think that's because it looked a little bit more peachy mood to me.
Have you done a side-by-side comparison of the models on Lisa's website wearing these two shades? She frequently uses the same models for different lipstick launches, so you can go back and find the same person wearing both shades. I haven't checked the website yet to see if it is true for Sunday Matinee and Velvet Petal, but it's a suggestion.

What do you think about Her lip gloss ?
I like the formulas and nuanced colors, but the round applicator and I don't get along.😔 I'm forever getting it outside my lip line. That's a personal issue, but I always think that if I had a different applicator on them, I'd use them more often. 🤷♀️
They're a lovely formula, I enjoy the colors, but out of all of Lisa's lip products, it's the only formula I haven't picked up more in since they launched. I think it's also important to know that I really prefer lipstick to lipgloss. I think it's a personal preference as opposed to a review with teeth in it.
Take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

I've used Palazzo, and Strawberry Shock the most in the past week. I also love Night Thoughts and Meet me in Berlin. I've used them all, but those 4 have gotten the most use. 😉

How does Berlin compare to Painterly... don't pretend you don't have it?! Ha
I have both. Berlin is cooler and more caramel brown while Painterly has more of a mauve with brown tones mixed in.
The only Lisa lipsticks I don't have are Velvet Carnival, Velvet Decade, Sunday Matinee, Rosey Shell, and Dance Card.
BTW, my community page here has swatches of all the Luxuriously Lucent lipsticks I own from the brand. You can see the difference between Berlin and Painterly for yourself.
She never released Go lightly again. Dance card is lighter and pinkier.

I hope the heat doesn't ruin your lipsticks. There are times in the summer where I end up putting all new lipsticks in the freezer for about 10 minutes before even taking them out of the box. Then I let them rest for about another hour before trying them on.

These are so pretty, and I'm excited I like how all the shades look once applied. I picked up Le Mépris for review purposes, but didn't expect to like it. I'm so happy it looks so good on me. That was a total surprise. I also thought New Wave, Je Ne Sais Quoi, and Meet Me In Berlin wouldn't look good on me. I LOVE them all.

@@thelipstickgal oh great idea, when they arrive I’ll put them in the freezer like you did. This Texas heat is unbearable, we decided to head to Michigan towards the end of this month for almost 3 months to stay with my daughter and will get to visit with my grandson before he heads back to college towards the end of August, hopefully we will get to see him play some baseball with his travel team, this is his last year he can play with them, just turned 19. I think he just got cleared from his rehab/therapy to start playing again, 9 months worth. He’s anxious to start playing college ball this spring, it was so hard on him getting injured during practice and missing his first year. Hubby is bringing his golf clubs so they can play a few rounds.

I hope she's completely healed from all of her surgeries. I have ruined more than one lipstick by anxiously yanking them from the box the minute they arrived on my doorstep in the middle of summer. Now I just tell myself to be patient, and everything sits on the counter overnight, or goes into the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes. It keeps its shape, and helps me learn patience. 😉
@@thelipstickgal she has her checkup next week with her neurologist and praying he takes her off the blood thinners. Her Dr who did that Fibroid embolization on her called her for her 2 month checkup this week and told her she doesn’t need to have the hysterectomy cause of that procedure they did on her, he said those fibroids will continue to just die off and slough off. He told her her uterus would shrink back within a year and her periods would be normal/minimal plus she wouldn’t have to deal with the menopause after a hysterectomy, good news finally. Now he said it’s rare but if she starts having issues again then she could decide to have the hysterectomy then cause she would be off the blood thinners.

Yes, I understand. There are formulas and shades that I wear on my work days when I spend nearly 9 hours in a mask. I like a sheer formula that's a light nude. (like the first one in this video) it's perfect for under my mask at work, and I enjoy how comfortable it is. I keep the Insanely Saturated shades for when I'm home, filming, or spending time outside with friends. I hope to one day get back to normal lipstick habits. I miss wearing a bright shade that everyone can see. 😥
