I completely agree with everything you say about Lisa, her ability to come up with the most unique colors and undertones, the unbeatable power of a red lip, how sunglasses and a Luxuriously Lucent are our armor for everyday life, etc. It’s so wonderful that Lisa, her videos, and her lipsticks unite women all over the world. I loved your top 10 list because some colors look differently on you than they do on me and you also have different reasons for wearing them or why you enjoy them so much. My current top 10: Velvet Ribbon, Velvet Jazz, Velvet Cinnabar, Go Lightly, Strawberry Shock, Velvet Dragon, Palazzo, Spirited Away, Night Thoughts, Velvet Muse. I did not check which ones have actually gotten the most use 😉 these are the ones that make my heart skip a beat for various reasons. Velvet Ribbon also at the top of my list. I dare say it is the best lipstick in the history of the planet 🌎

I had to resort to looking at which one's got the most wear, instead of which ones make my heart go pitter-pat. When I was thinking about the shades that delight me, I ended up a 23 lipsticks on the table in front of me. I couldn't choose. There were so many. 🤣🤣

I believe my 3 most used colours are Dance Card, Kitten Mischief, Velvet Fawn (my 1st lipstick).
My less used colours are Velvet Ribbon, Velvet Muse and Velvet Beauty.
In the middle, because of 2022 purchases, are Velvet Petal, Velvet Intrigue and Je ne sais quoi.
I also love her Songbird lipgloss. This was my Winter 2021/22 lip product.
I only have 2 of Lisa's glosses. Out of all her lip products it the one that I don't "have to" have. I love the lipsticks and liners so much, I'm more willing to invest in them as opposed to the glosses.
I love Velvet Fawn and Kitten Mischief. They're such beautiful every day colors. Velvet Petal was my favorite last season. I wore it non-stop.

I didn't like Beauty at first either because it looked different to me in person than in the photos, but just this year (I bought when first came out) I'm starting to pull it out and that lilac pinky mauve is starting to charm me unexpectedly. I got Sunday Matinee as well, but I wonder if I would like Petal better. I wish she could offer a full sampler of everything, so we could really compare some of the seemingly similar shades.

Oh I feel so terrible that I encouraged you get seven of them all at once. That was a splurge, but I hope you're loving them. Every time I reach for one it brings joy to my heart, and I think of it as my daily luxury. Sometimes I think I could be happy with just my Lisa lipsticks. I reach for the most days, and they make my nearly 50 year old lips look beautiful.

My most used is easily Painterly. I wish she'd come out with some more sheer mauvy colors (not that I really need any more 😂). But one of my favorite things about LE is how she encourages me to try new shades. I'm hoping to use Night Thoughs and Velvet Blush more this fall! And maybe some Velvet Myth!
Sounds like you have some amazing colors in your lipstick collection. I haven't used Velvet Myth in a while, and I can't wait to pull for it as the weather cools off. It's definitely a favorite, but it feels more seasonal to me. 🤷♀️

Wow you named almost all of my favorite Lisa Eldridge lipsticks! I’ve decided that I love her luxuriously lucent formula the most and all of your picks I have purchased and loved! I’m always wowed by Kitten Mischief, and Painterly is my all time favorite lipstick - just the most perfect flushed mauve for me. I recently purchased Palazzo and Je Ne Sais Quoi and I love them both. My first ever Lisa Eldridge was Velvet Muse and I’ve been reaching for Blush Lightly a lot lately, and now that autumn is here, Velvet Blush and Night Thoughts will get alot of use as well. I also have a lipstick obsession so your channel really speaks to me lol! I still have Velvet Dragon and Velvet Decade on my wishlist but I feel a launch/restock is around the corner! ❤

These are just the best formulas on my opinion. They're so comfortable, and easy to wear. They really deliver lip perfection, and in my eyes are worth the price tag. Not so luxury lipstick are.
I'm definitely here for this! I'd have to say LE lipsticks are my favorite. I'm not sure which is my best/most used, but Palazzo is the red I always wanted because it's also the low-maintenace, everyday red I was searching for, too. I need to order Spirited Away now because I don't have it but I think it would be practical for me, and before I thought it was too similar to Painterly, but I see on you that it is not. I really love Strawberry Shock on you. I wore Wonder Wheel alot this summer and I might wear it in winter, too, because I think it will also be good in winter.
I'm glad you think Palazzo is the perfect low maintenance red. Compared to a lot of the other reds I have, I feel like Lisa's reds are all low maintenance. All three formulas are just so easy to wear, and I don't really move about. I love that about these lipsticks. I wish I had worn Wonder Wheel more this summer. I was so excited about it when I saw the swatches, but it's one of the ones I've reached for the least. Wonder Wheel and New Wave. I need to put them in my monthly makeup bin, and I'm sure I'll get to know them so much better.

I'm in the process of reducing my lipstick collection.I have few shades that don't work for me, but I just can't throw away any of my reds and I have a few - my favourites are LE Velvet Ribbon (just started second tube!), LE Strawberry shock, MAC Russian Red. recently added LE Rose official and velvet blush lightly as I was missing something easy to put on my dead looking bare lips. Its hard to decide which one to take on holidays so I made my own little quad out of old eyeshadow quad and deposited a bit of each lipstick into pans. And its my best makeup item to travel with!!! also use it as blush.

Velvet ribbon is still one of my favorite red lipsticks and I love having it in my collection. I need to pair down as well, but I'm loathe to do that right now. Maybe this fall, but right now I'm happy with the immense amount of lipsticks I have. 💄🤣

I reached for Je Ne Sais Quoi more than I expected to this summer. It's such a pretty color. I'm glad to have it in my collection. Since the weather is finally starting to cool down, I'm starting to reach for my matte lipsticks more. I'll still use the Luxuriously Lucent all fall long, but I'm reaching for the Mattes again.
I have a lot of Lisas lipsticks and appreciate your Lisa videos as they are so much fun and very helpful. My taste changes with the seasons but always love reds. I have almost decluttered my previous collection because I usually reach for Lisas. Perhaps a series of showing looks with each lipstick 😬💄
Reds are so much fun to wear. I know not everyone loves a red, but that's when I think they just haven't found their perfect red yet. 😉

My most used are "Painterly" and "Muse"
If Painterly and Muse are your most used, I'd definitely suggest Blush Lightly. I love Blush, but Blush Lightly is so much easier for me to wear regularly.

Lisa Eldridge killed the lipstick game ! Because of her beautiful formula, my lipstick expectations are so high that I end up reaching almost all the time for her lipticks !

A similar matte formula or a similar color? I might have to go dive into my collection and start swatching.
If you're looking for an affordable, beautiful matte formula, I highly recommend the Milani Fetish Matte formula. They don't have as many colors as Lisa does, and they're colors aren't as nuanced, but they're such a great lipstick. Not just a good drugstore lipstick, but a great lipstick. This is one of those formulas that I don't feel needs the statement "Good for the drugstore."

I really enjoy Velvet Intrigue but I rotate between it and other shades in my collection so I don’t wear it out! 😄
MAC matte lipsticks are definitely a dry formula, but when I picked up a mini of Ruby Woo I found that a tiny bit of gloss on my lips beforehand helped the shade not dry out my lips. (that shade isn’t flattering on me, though!) 🙃
The older I get, the more I have to be careful with a hydrating layer below any matte/highly pigmented lipstick. The gloss would make the Retro Matte formula more comfortable to wear, but it would slide around after the first 30 minutes on my lips. I start every day with my skincare routine straight out of the shower including a hydrating lip balm. I completely remove the balm before applying any sort of pencil or liner. If not, it's slip city on my nearly 48-year-old lips.
I totally agree with you about Lisa's lipsticks.I never ever feel comfortable wearing red and my husband doesn't like red lipstick at all.I can wear Cinnabar color and my husband liked it a lot.I always get people asking me what I was wearing.I keep buying her lipsticks.

That stunning Velvet Ribbon looks fantastic on you...no wonder you've worn it to a nub. The intensity of the color reminds me greatly of the no-holds-barred hues of WWII, when women considered it their patriotic duty to don a bright red lipstick. I 100% agree on the power of lipstick to deliver more than just a nice look. Thanks for the enthused reviews--it's fun to watch and helpful, too. I am really hoping LE has a holiday release...set that alarm!
I can't wait for the holiday releases from Lisa. I'm crossing my fingers for a smaller number of total lipsticks released. If she releases 10 or more, I'll be in trouble.
I got my love of red lipstick from watching movies from the Golden Era of Hollywood. I love those black and white moves from the 30s and 40, as well as the occasional high budget Technicolor films from the same era. Red lipstick really had a huge impact on me as a kid, and I love it to this day. Velvet Ribbon is the perfect incarnation of a WWII era red.

@@karennoske3008 my mom is boomer. She tells me stories of my abuela wearing bright red lipstick in the 50s, but by the time I came around in the mid 70s, my grandma didn't wear much makeup anymore. I would've loved to have seen her in a bright red lip!

Ribbon is my ultimate favourite, hands down. I have it from launch of her first collection, together with morning and jazz. Now I have about 16 total shades and feel missing le mempris and night thoughts. Actually even more than that because I certainly would go for the vast majority of shades regardless of finish, but just like yourself, I would only get what I definitely would wear. I got meet me in Berlin and sort of regretted it, because it gives me this look like wearing a sepia filter on me, just jumped from a 1930s picture. It doesn't work for me, surprisingly. But I believe to have found the solution for it by using the benetint from benefit and stain the lips red then adding it on top. Also, adding a thin layer of meet me in Berlin on top of ribbon makes it incredibly regal and even more luxurious. It is like magic. I think most of Lisa's lipsticks can give you some artistic liberty to mix and match, almost creating a new shade
I'm all about making a lipstick work for you. There are plenty of times that I'll pick up a shade that I don't love, but I'll cocktail it with a liner or a gloss and all of a sudden I have a wearable shade. My favorite lipsticks are the ones that don't need any adjusting. When I spend $36 on a lipstick, you better believe I'm going to make it work. So interesting, I pulled out all of my LisaEldridge lipsticks. Looked at al the bullets and my most jused are Kitten mischief and velvet Fawn. Also spirited away is well jused. The others I can have definitely try to juse more. If I only can choose one LisaEldridge lipstick I would pick Kitten Mischief. I have to say the insanely saturated formula I love even more than the velvets. My Sunday Matinee is my 4th best jused one, even I own this one just from the last release. Because of the formula I would consider strawberry shock over velvet ribbon if I would buy a red ( I am not a red lipstick girl, I have several red lipsticks from other brands and almost never wear them) ( I have LisaEldridge velvet jazz as only red from her, i have to wear it more)
I tried really hard to pick 10 lipsticks, but I ended up with way too many on the desk. The only way to do this video was to roll up all the bullets and see which ones were the most used. It's hard, because I have lipsticks from every release, and the reds from the initial launch were the most used. (except Velvet Jazz) The lipsticks I've had longer will have gotten more use, but I could definitely tell the ones that I hardly reach for.
I don't purposefully ignore certain shades, but I do have favorites. Kitten Mischief was the one I wasn't expecting to be on this list. It's a good lipstick, but not one I thought was a favorite. It's kind of unexciting. (to me) When I looked at the bullet, I realized how much I reached for it because it was so altered from it's original state. It's a beautiful color, but I always gravitate towards a statement lipstick. Kitten Mischief is anything but that.
I keep hearing good things about Sunday Matinee. That's one of the 4 I don't have. I thought it looked too pale, and had more of a white base that I usually care for. I might have to get it anyway. So many people are telling me it's "utter perfection."

I still go back to your other LE lipstick video. Night Thoughts looked so good on you, but I hear it pulls too purple on some people which is probably me, so I'm hesitant to get it. Je Ne Se Quois and New Wave are my surprise personal favorites and strangely two I didn't care for at first I am becoming reacquainted with and starting to love as well (Beauty and Fawn). I'm convinced she can see colors the rest of us mortals just can't see and the formulas seal the deal, especially one matures.
If you like the lucent formula, Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant is a very similar formula and there are four shades, but again, you can't beat Lisa's nuanced color selection.
I haven't purchased from Elizabeth Arden in decades. There isn't a counter at my local department store, so it's a "out of sight, out of mind" kind of situation. I really love Night Thoughts, but I know natural lip color and skin undertone can change the way it looks on everyone. With my neutral undertone, I'm lucky to be able to wear most colors with ease. Some colors I prefer more than others but I know I can pull off most shades.
Je Ne Se Quois and New Wave were surprises for me too. I didn't think that I would care much for them because they're not the sort of shades I naturally gravitate towards, but I really love them. Especially Je Ne Se Quois. It's such a beautiful bright, but not too punchy shade. I love the way it lights up my face, but isn't too much. New Wave is such a punch of color, but it's just delightful!
You're right, Lisa sees colors that us mortals just don't see. I'm so glad she does, because her lipsticks are my favorites; the formula and colors are the best!
Not sure I have a favorite and I try to use each. Velvet Fawn is the shortest but I’ve had it the longest. Also have Muse, Beauty, and Blush Lightly. I have been so tempted to get Ribbon and a couple from the Lucent line but haven’t as I want to be able to use what I have before any go bad.
I always recommend using what you have. Don't over purchase just because you see a CZcamsr with so much. If it wasn't for my CZcams channel, I wouldn't have 32 of these lipsticks.
If you're actually purchasing what you're using, that's the best place to be. Faun, Muse, and Blush Lightly are some of my favorite shades. I don't reach for Beauty much because it's a little bit cooler than I normally prefer.

I don't feel like I'm qualified to recommend a foundation shade for you. (or even a lipstick shade) There are lots of beautiful models on Lisa's website that have a variety of skin tones, and you might be better served to look at swatches and models with product on to find a shade that works for you. I'm not a makeup artist, but rather a makeup enthusiast. I only do makeup on myself. I'm not qualified to recommend shades. Sorry.
Thanks for the compliment on my hair. I use Briogio products in the shower, and Cantu (extremely affordable) for styling. I use the leave in conditioner that comes in a tub and the Curl Activator. It's about $6-$8 for 12 ounces. I only wash my hair every 3-4 days, but will mist it with water on a non wash day and add in a little more of the curl activator to help control the frizz.
I’d love to see dupes from popular Mac lipsticks for example Is Velvet Morning close to Lady Danger? Are any of them like Candy Yum Yum? I so love Lisa Eldridge lipsticks, but I’m afraid to buy because I have those others. I certainly don’t think I can return Eldridge lipsticks.
I don't have many MAC lipsticks, and certainly none of the shades you've listed. I don't care for most of the lipstick formulas from MAC. 🤷♀️ Sorry I can't help.
Hi, I have to ask. Are these scented or flavored? I cannot do Charlotte Tilbury because they reek of red velvet whoopie pies. Are these similar?
I don't notice any particular scent in any of the lipsticks. I really like that. I recently picked up a new Dior lipstick, and it's got a powdery, floral scent. 😬

Thanks so much. I think when I recorded this I was using all Cantu products. I use the leave in conditioner in the jar, as well as the Cantu Natural Hair Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream.

I love the swatches, both lip and hand; however, it would be so helpful if you would state your skin tone and undertone and even the tone of your lips. I think it would be a good way for a viewer to get an idea of how a shade would look on them in comparison to you. For instance Ribbon looks fantastic on you, but looks more hot pink on me. Yet when I am watching your video we look to be similar in skin tone and lip tone, but that must not be the case. It is difficult to tell tone on a digital device I suppose.
Yes, you're right. I'm fair, with neutral undertones. I wear shade 2 in Lisa's foundation. I wear the lightest or second to lightest shade in every foundation or concealer I own. There are still some base products out there that don't come in a shade light enough for me. (the new Lancome radiant foundation comes to mind)
I also don't have a lot of natural pigment in my lips now that I'm in my late 40s. They always looks a bit more pigmented during a video like this because I'm wiping lipsticks off, and the pressure of wiping brings blood to the surface. It doesn't last.
I know I'm fortunate to have an undertone that works with so many shades of lipstick, and my lips never interfere with the color of the product in the bullet. I usually get a true-to-bullet shade on my lips. The only time I don't, is when I'm using a sheerer gloss.
