I loved this! I have an embarrassing number of her lipsticks…and I’m mostly a Drugstore gal! I can’t resist Lisa. My most used shades…Muse, Sunday Matinee, Painterly and Spirited away. Still deciding which palette…I’m leaning towards Myth or Vega, but that green in Sorcery…I’m looking forward to you upcoming videos with the other palettes!

The two palettes you're interested in are the ones that will challenge me the most. I struggle with blues and purples. 😬

Ooh, thanks so much for watching today. I didn't think about the sweater blending in with the background. I wanted something that could go with any of the shadows. I didn't know which ones I was going to reach for until I sat down.

When I saw she was launching eyeshadow palettes I thought I was going to skip for sure and then I saw the video and I couldn’t decide between Cinnabar and Vega so I got both. Hopefully she eventually decides to add a build your own style palette option. for lips I only picked up the sorcery lip and liner, I was hoping she would come out with more neutrals for her for fall/ winter launch.
I was surprised to see so many pinks and reds this time around. I was expecting a few more neutrals.
I hope you enjoy the eyeshadows. I'm excited to dig into the rest later this week.

I decided to tread in carefully by buying and trying just two single shadows. Also I ordered the velvet pompadour lipstick. Lisa's beauty products have expanded so much so, that I don't feel pressured into buying ALL of the new products at once. She's very good about trying to restock with each of her launches, so if you miss out on each new launch, you will have a chance to order something on her subsequent launches.
This is the first time however that my order has NOT been dispatched quickly. I am STILL waiting word from LE as a rep has tried to find out what's happened and has since put urgent on my order. STILL haven't had any word of a dispatch...

I'm sorry to hear that yours hasn't even been shipped yet. I didn't choose expedited shipping this time around, and that was a mistake on my part. All my past orders have arrived within 3 days of purchase, so I didn't think I would need to this time around. It took 9 days for this order to arrive. More than the estimated 3 to 5 working days. 🤷♀️
You're right, she's been really good about restocking things. I expect the sorcery eyeshadow palette as well as the lipstick will be restocked sooner than later. It used to take nearly a year for a lipstick restock.
These five new lipsticks will fit beautifully into my collection, and they're all the sorts of shades I like to wear. They're perfect for me since they're my go-to shades. The eyeshadow palettes are another story. The purple one in Myth, and the one I used in today's look with all the greens and blues in Sorcery really pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I feel like the other three pallets are going to be easy for me to reach for, but these two are going to be a bit of a stretch. Especially the Myth palette.

@@lamsing6090 definitely more subtle. I think it's in artistic choice on Lisa's part. These aren't the most pigmented or the shiniest shadows ever. I feel like it really fits in well to Lisa's personal makeup aesthetic. If you watch Lisa do makeup on herself, these are the sort of shadows she would have made just for her own personal use. Just enough, not too much.
Yayyyy!!!! I bought the Sorcery palette (the lipstick was already sold out 😭💔) and I’m so glad i did! It came yesterday, and it’s STUNNING! As soon as i saw she had a green palette I was in, I’ve been looking for a good luxury one. Mercurial is MIND BLOWING!!! And now I see why 4 of the 6 individual shades in that palette are sold out as singles lol. I haven’t used it on my eyes yet but I’ve been drooling over the swatches of it on my hand and getting glitter everywhere 😍🤤🥰😭

The Sorcery palette was the one that really excited me, but also intimidated me. I don't do well with dark greens or bright blues. I'll have to really push myself to reach for the shade Swansong.
I can't believe how quickly the Sorcery lipstick sold out. I'm so glad I was able to get one. It'll be a beautiful color for this winter.

I LOVE pompadour. It impressed me, I think it's even better in person than the swatches I saw online. Dutchess was also calling my name ... but I couldnt quite justify it for how often I thought I'd wear it. Never say never though .... it's so beautiful. Kind of reminds me of Nars Cruella but I like Lisa's formula better than the Nars crayon.
I really appreciate her matte formula. It's so good. It's my preferred matte lipstick. Pompadour is such a beautiful, wearable pink. I know I'll be reaching for it a lot!
I'm excited to wear Duchess, but it was a bit too much with my green eye makeup. I'm sure it'll be perfect with a minimal eye, and lots of dark liner. ☺️
Ah!! I missed on Sorcery, which I was dying for, but I did get Rain and Enchantment. I held off on eyeshadow, but several are in my Xmas list!!!

I still haven’t gotten my order. I didn’t get Pompadour but I might go back for it. I got the rest of the lipsticks. I always get excited when she released a new red! I picked up Vega since I thought I’d use it the most.

Every single lipstick shade looked beautiful on you! I actually liked how the full coverage of Velvet Sorcery looked on you. It really complemented your skintone but wasn’t overpowering. I picked up Velvet Duchess as I think that’s the colour I’m most likely to wear regularly and comfortably. I also bought all the palettes as the range of swatches on Lisa’s website and IG were very encouraging. I think the Myth palette will look stunning on you! Those jewels tones were so flattering against your skin and hair when you held up the palette. Looking forward to seeing that tutorial.

I really like all the lipsticks, but I usually do. I love the colors in the myth palette, but I've never been good at placement for purples. 🤷♀️ I also tend to emphasize my under eye circles, and make me look tired. Perhaps that's why people is not a favorite of mine.

@@thelipstickgal Thank you! I think you’ll have fun trying out the Myth palette. Sofia Sees Beauty did some lovely looks with Myth and Sorcery if you want some other ideas. I’m trying to shift to less bold looks now I’m approaching 50 and am more senior at work. I like how buildable Lisa’s formulation is, and agree with you that the shimmers are kinder to older eyelids (incl. her liquid eyeshadows).
@@alnsubuga I'm addicted to her liquid lurex formula. It's my favorite for a quick, easy eye look. These are nice, and I probably reach for Myth tomorrow. 😉
So I was going to get the whole new lipstick collection, but the launch caught me when I was travelling, I got motion sick trying to buy them on my phone, and by the time I arrived Velvet Sorcery was sold out. I think you’ve (future bc I don’t need any more eyeshadow) sold me on the cinnabar palette, I don’t vibe that much with warm colours but your swatches have made me love it.
I think my favourite shade is Velvet Blush, I don’t wear it all the time because I have a lot of eyeshadow and I do that silly thing where I want to save it so it shines on their own rather than just use it to compliment a look but if I had to repurchase any of the it’d be Velvet blush, and now that they exist Rain and enchantment too.
Velvet Rain and Velvet Enchantment are stunning. I've been reaching for Rain a lot since it arrived. I accidently dropped mine on the floor, but there was minimal damage. 🙌
I'll do a complete look with the Cinnabar palette sometime soon. I have Vega and Muse recorded, and they should be up later this week. I'll also be putting up shorts of the lipstick comparisons.

I have Vega and Pompadour and I can’t wait to take them for a spin, but I’ve been under the weather sadly so I daren’t use them til I’m ship shape. I did swatch them (with super sanitized hands and forearms lol) and I am very, very excited!

I really like the lucent formula and bought several that you reviewed, but the mats are not flattering on me, even though the colours are glorious.
I'm sorry the matte formula doesn't work for you. 😥 It's such a favorite of mine. I really enjoy the Lucent formula.

So beautiful! Quick question-- I'm 35 but with hooded eyes/loose eyelid skin. I usually stick to neutral matte eyeshadows, but shockingly I love the sorcery palette! I have always been told that shimmery shadows are terrible for hooded eyes-- any thoughts? Skip it? Might work?
I’m a firm believer in wearing what makes you happy. I don’t think that “beauty rules” should be followed, but rather wearing what makes you feel attractive. If you don’t want to start out with a $68 palette like sorcery, perhaps try less expensive shimmer formulas and see how you like them on yourself. I break beauty rules left right and center. I don’t care, I just wear what makes me happy. I encourage others to do the same.
As the formula, these wear longest on top of an eyeshadow primer, but are super easy to blend. They are some of the easiest shadows I’ve ever used, and I would easily hand one of these over to my teenage daughter. She’s a beginner, and is forever stumped by difficult formulas to blend. I feel like these blend themselves. I also feel like the summers are beautiful, but not too intense. These aren’t on the Pat McGrath, or Natasha Denona level of sparkle, so if you’re afraid of having something that’s too much, this might not take you there. You can, of course build it up, but a light wash might be a place to start if you’ve haven’t used sparkle in a while.

I got Vega, I did have fallout with it but this is pretty standard experience for me. I'll use glitter glue the next time I try the palette. I also got Duchesse, it's perfection!
Duchess is such a great shade. (Just not with this eye look.) I really like the formulas, but have yet to try them all out. My box just arrived today. Next time, I'm paying for expedited shipping.
Im not interested in any of Lisa's makeup (at least yet lol). I have too much already. But if I had to pick one e/s palette it would probably be Vega. I think its a nice everyday palette and you can get quite a few soft looks with it leaning warmer or cooler. Cant wait to see your customized Lisa's palette !
I reached for Vega for my eye look today, and I'm in love! I like it even more than Muse. I was sure I was going to heavily use Muse. The cool, grey eye look I created today has stolen my heart. Well, Pompadour was the only lipstick I did not want because it is pink. I have a light/medium neutral skin tone with a bit of a yellow undertone and, like you, I do not do too well with pinks in general. BUT after watching your video I am debating whether I should try Pompadour after all. I missed out on the Sorcery lipstick, but at least got the liner, which by the way goes great with the "Meet Me In Berlin" lucent lipstick. Hoping for a restock of Velvet Sorcery in the not too far future. Had it in my basket, but never made it through checkout with it.🤷♀️
I did get all 5 eye palettes...completely crazy, but I just could not resist. And I don't regret it at all spending my savings because Muse + Cinnabar look much more beautiful in person. I know we all have tones like this, but this is Lisa's take on it, and it is just grand!

Lisa's formulations for previous releases is why I picked up all five of the eyeshadow palettes. I haven't tried a single thing that I haven't absolutely loved from her brand. There are some things that I appreciate more than others, but they're all in heavy rotation.
Two of these eyeshadow palettes really stretch me. The one in Myth, and the one in Sorcery. I feel like the pink, warm nude, and smoky palettes will be easier for me to use on a regular basis. They're the starter shades I reach for regularly.
I'm sorry you weren't able to snap up the sorcery lipstick. It really did run out of stock quickly. Since I had already decided what I was getting, I was able to add those things to cart, and get straight in the checkout line. I was very fortunate to be able to get everything I wanted.
Pompadour is a really pretty pink. For years I've tried to make lighter pinks, baby pinks, and Barbie pinks work. Some of them look okay, but they're never my favorite. Some of them make me look absolutely hideous. This was such a surprise for me. It's a lovely mix of warm and cool tones. Surprisingly wearable for a bold pink. It's not nearly as cool as Skyscraper Rose, or nearly as bright as Rainbow Spill.

Dear Rebecca, thank you so much for the video; I'm skipping the palettes but as a fan of Lisa's Velvet lipsticks I'd like to get one or two more. In your opinion, which are the cooler-toned ones? On camera, they seem to be Duchess and Pompadour, am I right? Kisses and hugs from a rainy and grey Madrid now( I don't like winter!!)😘😘☔
Winter and summer of the two extremes that I dislike the most. I hate being too hot, and too cold. Stay warm, and I hope the weather is not too harsh.
Pompadour and Duchess are the cooler of these new shades. The other three really have a warmth to them. I feel like velvet rain is a very beautiful, and wearable pink, but does have a bit of warmth to it. Lisa's website describes it as having both cool and warm tones. I feel like someone's specific undertone might help it swing one way or another.

The shadows are gorgeous but I didn't get shadow palettes because I just don't wear that much eyeshadow. I might get a single grey one because I am always looking for a perfect grey, and I suppose if anyone could have a perfect one it would be Lisa. However, I immediately bought Velvet Rain and I love it. I think I must have Pompadour, too! I want Enchantent but I already have Palazzo, so how alike are Enchantment and Palazzo?

Can’t decide which lipstick looked best (Velvet Rain and Enchantment looked very similar, no?)On the subject of how expensive her products are, it puzzles me and kind of irks me that the dollar price is so much higher than the the UK price in pounds. The shadow palette at today’s exchange rate should be more like $58 than $68. Kind of unfair IMHO. I wonder why….
By the way, in today’s email BP acknowledged the lipstick issue and mentioned having the lab reformulate, so that felt good :) Cheers!

Yes, Velvet Rain and Velvet Enchantment are similar. Rain is more pink, and Enchantment is more red leaning. I'll do some swatch comparisons soon.
I think an established price is what the brand is going for. I remember when the price changed with the exchange rate. I never knew how much the products really were. The £ to $ rate has changed so much since Lisa launched her line in 2018. It's was nice when the rate was in our $ favor, but a bitter pill to swallow when the £ was worth so much more. 🤷♀️ If still feels like luxury pricing to me.
I'd guess the higher price than results from just looking at the exchange rate is a result of adding customs and taxes. It's the same for us Europeans when we buy from the US ;)
There are generally two ways brands approach this. 1. You can buy for the same price as locally but then you are responsible for paying taxes and customs on arrival (this is what most indie brands do and it's a pain to deal with customs office yourself plus it usually adds up to more $ because of customs handling fees). 2.brand takes care of everything end2end which means taxes and customs are already included in the price you're paying on checkout. When I buy Pat McGrath on her website, the regular price is $154 instead of $128. The same goes for buying from Beautylish (+23% VAT). Hope this helps :)

I am wondering how the Muse palette compares to Wayne Goss’s Pearl palette? I held off buying Muse and Cinnabar even though I think I would wear both a lot, simply because I feel I already have multiple similar shades. I also have a bunch of Pat McGrath palettes 😊Anyway would be interested in your thoughts on comparisons. Like, I think Lisa’s lip shades are so unique, even when I have something I think might be similar, it’s never quite the same, and Lisa’s always somehow look and wear better. Am wondering if the same applies to these shadows?
I feel exactly the same about the lipsticks. That's why I have so many of them. I still have three of the eyeshadow palettes I need to wear on their own, so once I get all the way through the shades I'll have more of an informed opinion.
I don't have an of Wayne's palettes, but I do have, smoky quartz, imperial topaz, pearl and tourmaline. I feel like the tourmaline palette isn't an exact dupe for any of the palettes, and I don't feel like the pearl palette is similar enough to Muse to be considered a dupe.
I'll try and have all of the
shadow palettes used before the end of the week, and perhaps I'll be able to get back to you with reviews and swatches by the end of the month. 🤷♀️🤞

Velvet Ribbon in the True Velvet formula, and Spirited Away in the Luxuriously Lucent formula. See how I wouldn't let you pin me down. Those are my two most used shades in each formula. The ones I reach for when I want the "perfect" lipstick.

I was waiting for it 🙂 I will definitely try a couple of shadows separately although the price per pan is high, none of the palettes convince me completely. For that price I need to be able to use all the shadows. So how is it comparable to other brands (Pat, ND, CT, Viseart) in terms of formula on fine lines? Is it at the same level or better ? These arrived in the mail yesterday, I recorded the video, edited it, and then took the time to upload it. It was a half a day affair. I knew it was going to take a long time, so I didn't take the time to compare these to other formulas. By the end of the day, I realized they would have worn better with an eyeshadow primer. I normally don't reach for one, but these faded significantly. They are different in that aspect. I haven't had the opportunity to try one of the velvet mattes over the entire lid. Lisa mentioned in her video that they can be used as a base for the eye. I'm trying that next.
I feel like the textures sit beautifully on the eye without calling attention to any fine lines or crepeiness. They don't have the same level of pigment straight out of the gate as a Sydney Grace, or a Pat McGrath shadow. They build on the same level as a viseart shadow. Easily, but not all at once. If I need to be very buildable. I haven't used all of the Shadow formulas, so I have to get back to you.
For the price tag, I wouldn't suggest you purchase a palette if it doesn't call to you. You should be able to reach for and use every single shade in there for the nearly $70 price. I expect she'll come out with other color stories in the future, so just hold on.
@@thelipstickgal Thanks for your long reply. It is very helpful indeed. I do not mind if a shadow is not very pigmented as long as I can intensify when I want to, so that is cool. I do not need an eyeshadow primer with CT but I do need it with all the other brands I have. I have enough palettes at the moment so I will wait. Enjoy your day

I find that Wayne goss, viseart, Charlotte Tilbury and Sydney Grace wear perfectly on me without any eyeshadow primer. These were well for 6 hours without any fading, but the time I passed that 6-hour mark they started to thin out. I still have a couple of different ways I want to try them, so I'll report back with my findings at a later date. 😉

Thank you so much for watching. I have never been able to figure out my lighting setup to make things look more accurate. It's something I've been researching, but I'm still struggling to figure out. I'm definitely not a pro when it comes to lighting or video. Sorry.
I feel like everything is a lot warmer in my lighting than in reality. I'm a lot fairer in natural lighting than I am in my studio lights, and that also reflects in the swatches. I feel like the lip swatches of the shades on Lisa's website are a more accurate than mine. If you're going to make a purchase, really take a look at what those shades look like on someone close to your own skin tone. That's my best advice.
