    Shekar-ji, thank you for this beautiful edition of the cut the clutter. It is very informative and concise about the Tibetan struggle. Tibetan diaspora and the Tibetan people inside Tibet will never forget the kindness and the support from our Indian brothers and sisters. His Holiness embodied the Tibetan identity and is our supreme spiritual leader ( for non-Tibetan, this may be a bit hard to understand as we believed His Holiness as the manifestation of Avalokiteshvara). Many Tibetan people like me who received their early education in India and now working in the west are thankful to the generosity of the Indian people and their government.
    Shekar-ji, a minor correction, the official population of the Tibetan people is six million people(as per the Tibetan govt in exile), and I believed that the four million is just population based on the TAR region(and propagated mainly by the CCP government ).

    It's the inherent culture of India to honor saints and sages ,so where did our Prime Minister go wrong for wishing His Holiness Dalai Lama on his 86th birthday. The Dalai Lama is a distinguish citizen of the world and the world has been hallowed by His presence as His entire life has been dedicated for world peace and why would the Chinese go against Him who possess just two and a half metres of holy robes and 108 rosary beads. China did trample the Tibetans physically and politically and even made them a homeless nation but it could never trample the priceless spiritual heritage of the Tibetans. China should realize that Power is fleeting and God always takes the side of the good as power is timebound and only Beauty is eternal. May this earth be filled with innumerable Dalai Lamas.Om Mani Padme Hung, Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

    Just a small clarification - the highest mountain entirely within Tibet is Shishpangma (8031m - the 14th highest mountain in the world). Although technically the Nepal - Tibet border passes through Everest (whose actual name is Chommolungma meaning Goddess Mother of the Earth in Tibetan), Lhotse, Makalu & Cho Oyu (4th, 5th and 6th highest respectively) so these mountains are all partly inside Tibet along with many other 6000m & 7000m peaks. Gurla Mandhata is in fact a small mountain (around 2700m) near Ngari prefecture (now a major PLA garrison area).

    After reading Dalai Lama's autobiography, one would know that it was a cake walk for Chinese to occupy Tibet. The way their whole way of life was destroyed in the name of socialism. The Chinese treatment of Tibetans remind me of dodos. Dodos are a flightless birds find in Mauritius. When the French came and occupied Mauritius, they saw these flightless and they started killing it first for food and then they shooting from close range as an entertainment. Barely with a decade or so,dodos became extinct. Their existence was discovered from a wood carving after decades. At this moment, another nation ,which is also facing a danger from a different king of enemy ,which is also very toxic and equally destructive, it is the Afghan nation, which is engaged in a life and death battle with Taliban forces. What would be the conversation like between Karl Marx and Buddha and Mohammed ?.

      No Akh, what you saw was meant to be. Many Indian Buddhist pandits would travel to the Tibet at from 7th to 16th century taking with them teachings and scared text. They even invented the written language of Tibet in the 7th century. Tibet preserved a lot of India Buddhism, so now because of the invasion they help to return Buddhism to it homeland.

    • @Madame702

      @Stephen lee Sorry Stan, but Buddhism is now been unleashed on the world again. This was predicted in the 7th century from Lotus born Buddha. Now all the hidden treasure that Shakyamuni Buddhi hid away are being revealed for this time.

    • @pharaohakhneton9553
      @pharaohakhneton9553 Před 3 lety +4

      May be . There are other Buddhist countries like Japan, Thailand and others which also have these facilities without compromising on their distinct national way of life. Surely they were not the gifts from the great humanitarian socialist Chinese. That the Tibetans got a raw deal , that they were deprived of their self-determination is indisputable. Left to themselves, the Tibetans like any other nation would have come on their own. In this 21st Century, it is very difficult for any nation to remain as isolated and forbidden as earlier. In these times, when freedom is valued, nation-building according to one's cultural heritage should also be a matter of one's own choice and right. The Tibetans got the modern facilities, but at what cost, can be told by them only. There is no way to know what the Tibetans actually want, except what the state-controlled media propaganda. under censorship regime tells the world. Even if what the CCP blabber its media in the typical communist jargon about the feudalism, slavery of Tiben under DalaiLama rule is correct, others have a business to reform them. In the same vein, the Chinese have no democracy, freedom of speech, or any other fundamental rights, and no religion, would the Chinese be the same enough or kind enough to listen and turn themselves, democrats. India may not be able to guarantee 24 hours electricity, but they have given asylum to DalaiLamaand the Tibetans at a time when India having very limited resources and guarantee their freedom to live their way of life. Only those who value freedom can understand the significance of India's gestures and actions. India got nothing in return whereas the Chinese provided electricity, but filled Tibetan with Han Chinese and are utilizing their natural resources. It is not a free meal.

      @@pharaohakhneton9553 No Akh, this was meant to be. You see the King of Tibet in the 7th century was building a great Buddhist monastery, but an evil Naga (snakes that can shape shift) yea they exist. Trick the King into accepting to wood to build his monastery (wood is sparse and expense in Tibet). Because of this the Lotus born Buddha told the King that China would one day rule of the lands of Tibet.

    Shekhar keeps referring to what "the Chinese" did throughout the video. I'd rather have him mention them as the Chinese Communist Party's deeds. I think it's important to distinguish the CCP from the general Chinese population, who may not be in agreement with the party, but can't do anything about it.

    Why Caring for the sensitivities of Chinese. If we care for their sensitivities it will look as a sign of weakness. They Occupied the Tibet due to which his holiness Dalai Lama is living in India escaping the clutches of China military. Wishing him on his birthday publicly is a right Step why China to be cared? They are fighting with the India at borders for changing and occupying Indian lands under the pretext of boundries of the Tibet which they illegally occupied and ruling with iron fist. If India recognises Tibet as a separate country and encourages others to do the same , then there is no boundary problem with China. Now Tibetans in the Tibet are becoming minority day by day and the Han Chinese are becoming majority.
