The people Brad was teaching cards to were all 90s tv show actors playing themselves. Topher is Topher Grace from That 70's Show
Yeah, I was a little surprised they didn’t recognize at least a couple of them.
_My spidey sense is tingling, if you know what I mean._
Definately a Charmed Crowd.......
@@CoastalNomadI understood that reference.
I believe some are from Dawson's Creek, Seventh Heaven and That 70's Show.
Rip to Bernard Jeffrey McCullough aka Bernie Mac (1957-2008) we miss you man
I miss him man he made me laugh so hard with the kings of comedy and anything he did
Every day
1957 as old as my dad is, Haven't considered that.
@@Josmersuero I never considered age as old I look at them as young not old🗝️ 😭
bro was a beast at stand-up. he was one of a kind and will always be missed. 🥰
"You're gonna need a lot of guys to pull that off."
Yeah, something like eleven.
Rusty's constant eating was a creative decision by Brad Pitt. He felt that with as busy as Rusty would be getting the heist perfect he wouldn't have time to actually sit down, eat and would be eating on the go.
Also, Ocean's Twelve is absolutely brilliant, but different. To me it's criminally underrated.
He's also eaten in about 90 percent of all films he's been in. And in a lot of them, he doesn't actually swallow the food.
Plus the director told him to because he already saw him doing it in an press interview brad joke that am always eating so the director was fine with it I love food
I thought he was battling cigarette withdrawal, snacking all the time XD
Personally I hated the second. Liked the third… that’s all.
The scenes between Brad and Catherine were absolute POETRY! Even the deleted scenes. Highly recommend you watch them if you haven’t. Seriously, just beautiful.
"Might as well call it whitejack" is something I quote often.
10:10 ..."His disguise is too good...Just glasses and a hat"... Hey, it works for Clark Kent.
It works because Damon has such a bland face. It's why his character is chosen for the "casino inspector" role.
You guys realize that in the beginning of the movie that actors Topher Grace, Shane West, Joshua Jackson, etc were all playing themselves.
Correct, that's why Topher wanted to pay by check so he could say he was doing "research" for a role.
guess that DOES date the movie a bit ^^
Nope, they didn't lol. Goddamn Gen Z's, not realizing anything existed before they were born.
@@mikeyt3784 Jeez, dude. They just didn't recognize them. This isn't like other reactors where some highly successful and influential actor with a career spanning decades is only recognized as "the guy that voiced Mr Crabs", or something.
@@Eidlones so even though I threw in an "lol" to make what I was saying lighthearted, you saw the "goddamn" and took it as if I hate them or something. Don't get me wrong, Gen Z's are the bane of my existence, but I like their reactions for the most part and my comment was more of a commentary on their generation as a whole.
And if you disagree? I love it! My generation can handle people disagreeing with them.
Regarding Benedict's "lack of reaction"...
I'm thinking you misread him.
It was quietly seething, not calm...more like that stage between where you just dont even know HOW to react, and trying to plan revenge...
Terry Benedict didnt get to be owner of 3 casinos by being loudly reactive...
Agreed. He’s scheming to get even.
Also the 150 Million is just the cash they are required to have On location. Not their entire worth. It’s like money in the register to make change and refunds. Or in this case if some people win. Like how Banks only have 10% cash or not even that much from what they have on paper.
Edit: 160M
Obligatory trivia: Brad Pitt's always eating because he improvised that trait for Rusty. He figured with the amount of plates his character would have to be spinning? It would be a virtual impossibility for Rus to actually sit down and eat a proper meal during the heist.
How does that explain him constantly eating in every other movie/role he’s in? 🤣 he’s been doing that since before this movie
he snacks/eats in almost every movie hes in
I could've sworn Pitt was a alcoholic or smoker and was attempting to get off the habit. In order to attempt this, he started eating.
@@kennedy6587 Even if that is true, and I'm not totally sure it is, that doesn't change the OP lol. It's true his logic was they are always constantly travelling and plotting so he would never have time to stop for a meal.
@@StopReadingMyNameOrElse it is, but it is also true that he already and still does eat constantly in all his movies 😂. In the same interview he talked about that in Oceans Eleven, he also stated he’s always been like that (a grazer), when asked why he’s always eating in ALL his movies lol
One of my favorite jokes is right at the end, because of how nonchalantly Brad says his line:
Tess: We need to get Rusty a girl.
Rusty: There's a women's prison down the road...
🤣🤣🤣
This is a remake of a 60's movie that had an all star cast too, starring the great Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack; check it out.
I thought it was based on that Rick and Morty episode!
@@MxnwellMxnlymxn-gs4epnope. Plus the 60’s version with the Rat Pack had a better ending in my opinion.
@@MxnwellMxnlymxn-gs4ep You SOB, I'm in... 🤣
@@MxnwellMxnlymxn-gs4ep huh??? Lol you way off buddy 😭
The biggest thing about infiltrating anywhere is to pretend like you belong there. Social engineering is the largest problem with maintaining security. Cyber or otherwise.
The original movie had them robbing 5 casinos. I guess they felt that was a little much, 3 is more believable.
You guys would really like the show Leverage. 5 bad guys that turn good and use their skills to help people.
Love Leverage.
In this movie they don't even rob 3 different places, they rob one vault. In the original movie, they rob 5 locations simultaneously.
Add my vote for Leverage, even the new series.
Saul wasn’t eating something to make him sick - he was totally faking. He does have ulcers (that was the explanation of why he had gotten out of the business).
"Topher?" Yes, that's his real name. The poker students are all acyirs playing vetsions of themselves. Topher Grace was on That 70s Show snd Spider-man 3. JoshuabJackson was on Dawson's Creek and The Mighty Ducks. Barry Watson was on 7th Heaven. Shane West later did A Walk to Remember, Nikita, and Salem. HollyMarie Combs was one of the three sisters in Charmed on TV. Apparently, Seth Green was intended to be one of them, but was really busy filming movies and Buffy on TV. He was Scott Evil in the Austin Powers films.
They would love the mighty duck movies
Well, technically his name is christopher. Topher is just a nickname obv
@erikawilliams9558 He is known professionally by it though. They laughed as if it was a made up name for the film.
Please watch "the Sting". You will love it.
Yeah baby, the Ocean's trilogy is upon us. Guys, if you like heist movies, I strongly advise you to watch 3000 Miles to Graceland. Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell and a lot of action for 2 hours of an incredibly stylish movie will stay in the memory forever. I guarantee!
My brothers...im so glad that you are doing this one and hope that you do the rest. These movies and soundtracks are absolutely incredible. You will absolutely love...LETS GET IT!!
This movie works so well because of the storytelling and editing. It was awesome at foreshadowing. Watching your reaction was so fun!
Yes, Topher Grace is a real person. His name is Christopher, but he said in an interview years ago that his mother called him Topher. He's an actor who is famous for That 70's Show. The other card players are also stars like Holly Marie Combs from Charmed. The music is great because the movie is a remake from the 1960 movie Ocean's 11 with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin. Great reaction.
Ocean's 11?! GET OUT! So excited that you guys watched this! ❤
One of my favorite anecdotes George told about this film: at the time Julia Roberts was earning about $20 million PER FILM, and George wanted her to play Tess in Ocean's Eleven so he sent her a twenty dollar bill with a note that said "I hear you get 20 a picture now..." 😆🤣 What a smart ass.
Also I have been to a casino exactly once. I took 20 bucks to the slot machine, lost every single time until my last spin, at which point I won 100$ dollars... at the same moment when the lady sitting behind me won the cumulative 14k jackpot.
Suffice to say I never went back.
Hey you quintupled your money so it ended well for you, just not as nice as the 14k lady.
You should be ecstatic you won anything when only bringing $20 to a casino lol.
@@mikeyt3784
My rationale was: that's as lucky as I was ever likely to get, so better to just pocket it and call it there. lol
I won 200 on my fifth spin, then blew it all lol
@@gustavovm491 I always have the strategy of never re betting winnings. If I go expecting to lose $20 on the slots I play until have spent that $20. Whatever I win on the way to spending that $20 I just keep to cash out later on.
I think you'll like the Ocean's Trilogy
I think this was the one that started the "slick" and quick dialogue in modern movies. At least for me, I had to pay attention to everything going on or I'd miss something that meant something more than an Easter Egg. Loved it, and loved all the movies that follow in that form.
Two words: Mini Bar
Glad you guys are reacting to Ocean’s 11. It’s like one of the greatest heist films that’s ever made. Y’all should react to Ocean’s 12 next, and then 13 and that’s the end of the trilogy.
Oceans 12 wasn't my favorite. But definitely need to see the original oceans 11. And then 13.
@@Drknnja it’s understandable. I personally like all 3.
This movie was so well-made and the improvisations the actors injected were perfect. My favorite heist movie. Which reminds me, if you guys haven't reacted to The Italian Job yet, add that one. A must-see as well. Arguably as good as this movie. And then the next thing that popped in my brain is Now You See Me. Also comparably good. And these are both also heist movies.
The scene at the beginning where Rusty is teaching poker, all the actors in the scene are playing themselves -Topher Grace, Shane Black, Holli Combs and Barry Watson were all big stars on TV at the time.
The kids learning poker are all actors playing themself tofer Grace was on that 70s show and played venom
Yes - the soundtrack in this film is GOD TIER - and it was so much fun watching you guys JAMMING to it! 🤣 👍😎 🎼🎷🎷🎺🎺🎸🎸🎼🎼🎵🎵
You guys pick another great Trilogy! 1st 😀, 2nd 😑, & 3rd 😆
You young'uns not recognizing the stars playing themselves at the poker game. "TOPHER!?" Lol, man I'm old...
right? 🤣
This has got to be one of my favorite movies ever. So glad y’all reacted to it!
23:22 ..."Why open it up like that".. That, my friends, is called stress... When your mind is so fed up, your body starts to do weird shit that you don't even understand.
It’s one of those films that you can still enjoy even after knowing the plot.
When they find out that guys name is Topher 😂
Don Cheadle uses some British slang, When the word Barney refers to Barney Rubble which rhymes with Trouble. So Rubble = Trouble.
This is actually a remake, the original was with frank Sinatra and the rat pack, thry don't get the money in the original
YEESS!!
My all time favorite!
Really appreciate this reaction guys!
Please keep up with the trilogy. Should be interesting as well!
I went to the Casino in Murphy, NC when I was up there in 2017 for the Total Solar Eclipse, it was a freaking huge building.
21:47 the weight lifting jug😂
I used to work at a 2nd-run cinema way back around the time this gem came out. At one point we had it as a matinee playing for a couple of days during the week. The turnout was always the same, all women and strollers 😂😂😂
Don't tell ME there ain't no such thing as FEMALE GAZE! I bet the air-conditioning was working OVERTIME in that theater to keep it from over-humidifying! So to speak... 😏
The smoothest movie…no…film…the smoothest film I’ve ever seen.
I love Out of Sight! Same director and George Clooney and my man Don Cheadle! I think it's just as slick ❤
“I hope he’s not going up next”. fuggin killed me 😂. Took the air out of my lungs 🤣
Same, dude! FREAKING SAME!!! OMG!!! 🤣🤣
I'll echo some other people's comments, Ocean's 12 is also amazing and cant wait to see you both give that one a look too. These are just fun! The cast's chemistry is next level!
Reacting to Ocean's Eleven? Ten says they short it.
Twenty.
I don't use the word clever to describe a movie but that's exactly what this movie is tho
Brad Pitt was great in this, how he delivered his lines and such. Everyone did so great, though, very fun movie!
In the Sinatra verson they have to stach the money thry put it in the coffin of someone that didn't make, why don't thry just dig himup and get the money... About that
These movies are so good, glad you guys are getting into them, they are so fun
The Barney Rubble thing is Cockney rhyming slang. It's a real thing. Don's playing a Cockney.
So, Lord of the Rings and Ocean’s 11 are very similar, but LotR is a reverse heist. (returning The One Ring to Mount Doom.)
When people ask, “why didn’t they use the giant eagles from the beginning?” i ask, “ why didn’t Ocean’s team dress as SWAT and just steal the money?”
Both movies need a process to be believable. The journey makes the prize that much epic and satisfying. 😊❤
Wow posted 15seconds ago😮
Weird seeing 0 likes and then suddenly it's jumping 6 , 9 ..12
I love when I get in early and the number of likes is greater than the number of views.
Its literally like yall read my mind. Last night i was just thinking someone should react to Oceans 11.
Transformers the Movie. 1985 version next guys.
@@busimagen yes!!
Love this movie! Great job guessing the remote control van Chris!! 😊
Great choice guys!
I love this quad of movies so much! It would be great to see you doing 12, 13, and 8.
Killer soundtrack music by David Holmes on all 3 Ocean's films.
(Makes for one hell of a playlist!)
So glad you guys did this! Hope
You do the other 2, they are all great!
This is definitely one of those, only watch the first one series. The rest of them seem to have a quality drop, in acting and in actual visual quality.
4:02 - Worse: he's teaching ACTORS.
5:07 - You didn't get it? That's Topher Grace, star of That 70's Show, In Good Company, and co-star of Spiderman 3. Everyone in this scene other than Clooney and Pitt are actors playing themselves.
40:07 - British slang typically derives from rhyming a word that sounds like the word you mean. Case in point: Trouble>Rubble>Barney Rubble>Barney. Of course the expression has to travel a ways before people actually recognize it. Half the humor of Cheadle's accent is that he's making these up on the spot and expecting you to understand.
This movie is actually a remake of a classic movie starring Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.
I really love watching your guys reactions to movies I love. It about broke my heart that you didn’t know any of the celebrities at the poker table in the beginning. 😢
The soundtrack is fantastic. Glad you enjoyed it.
One of my favorite movies because it is simply fun. Witty at times. Stupid at times and an all-around good time
Watching the original Ocean's Eleven would be a lot of fun; though, the ending of it was a bit more grim than the remake. The OG Ocean's film is such a time capsule of early Vegas
My fiance and I literally JUST went thru and watched the trilogy of these! Such fun heist movies
You totally need to react to the sequel, too. Expecially to Ocean's Thirteen, it's a very good movie °w°
Brad was always eating in this movie! 😂
This is a good heist movie, but they do only rob one location. Watch the original Ocean's Eleven. They rob five locations simultaneously, and it has a great cast.
One of my favorite movies.
If you dig this you'd love "Out of Sight" with him and Jennifer Lopez. Really good movie.
You should check the original "O's 11". If you want a good film with Andy Garcia, I'd suggest "Black Rain" (1989, Ridley Scott, with Micheal Douglas, Kate Capshaw -the annoying lady in "IJ and the Temple of Doom"-).
the reaction of them at the toy truck being destroyed shows up who is the older brother :P
Love the reaction, and please continue with 12 and 13. Ocean's 12 is alright, but Ocean's 13 is far better.
Love this and 12
Highly recommend the Original with Sinatra and Dean Martin Sammy Davis, Joey Bishop Ceaser Romero...its great also and shows Old Vegas
9:49 “Matt Damon.” - Matt Damon, _Team America: World Police_ (2004)
Terrific reaction, fellas. I love it when you guys laugh.
Someone’s probably mentioned that this film is a (superior) remake of a film of the same name made in 1960. Carl Reiner‘s fake heart attack during this film was a callback to a *real* heart attack that happened in the earlier version. Since fans of the earlier version were watching the newer film, they all thought the heart attack was real. A great fake out.
I think you both would like Bradley in Silver Lining Playbook.
Also a good one with a casino vibe try the 1986 The Color of Money.
You guys should watch "Pollock", "Frida" & "Basquiat." Art appreciation series.
Remember in Superman how no one recognizes Clark Kent as looking like Superman because of the Glasses, well 9:48
funny that just the other day I was watching 9-1-1 with an episode guest-starring Eddie Jemison (Livingston Dell here) and I was like "where do I know that guy from!?" _check IMDB_ "Ohhh! right! Dell from Ocean's Eleven!"
and today, bam! Ocean's Eleven.
¬.¬ lots of those lately, hmmmm.... ¬.¬
yeah, I'm freaking looking right at you, Google, don't play dumb!
Can't wait for you to see what happens next.
Can't wait for 12, 13, and 8 reactions.
Should’ve started with the 1960 original featuring the Rat Pack.
It has the best ending, imo.
Insurance pays the casino back😎Watch any Agatha Christie movie, like Murder on the Orient Express, and its even smarter. She was a genius wwhen it came to murder mysteries. Evil Under the Sun is probably my favorite. Would love to,see you react to those!!❤
This reaction goes to 11, most reactions go to 10 but this one is 1 louder it goes to 11
Ocean twelve and thirteen is just as good.
The amount of movies you havent seen gets more and more unbelievable.
Now its time to watch Ocean's 12 & 13
Too funny, watching you guys is like watching Tom Hanks play a 12-year-old in Big! Hysterical.
5:05 clearly you two have never seen That 70's Show 😂 you could add it to your channel and we'd watch it for certain.
I've got a full-size movie poster one sheet signed by the whole main cast. It's handsomely framed hanging in my office. That's how much I dig this movie.
All 3 Ocean’s films are good, though most people like 11 & 13 the best.
I love ❤️ 😅how brad is just eating and being himself because while he is acting and is a great actor in an interview he just was having fun and the director told him to be himself 😅😮😊
Yay! Loved this reaction. One of my favourite series.
Looking forward to the whole series (including Oceans 8). After this series, could you react to RED & RED2 if you haven’t seen them? I reckon you’d enjoy them.
18:38 - diorama not diagram.
You guys should consider doing a music channel. Watching you rock out is a gas. 🙂
I'm probably missing 1 or 2. But every potential problem that they set us up for. Ended up being a perfectly executed part of the plan. I think the only real snags that happened were overcome fairly handily. The first one being whatever the casino fixed that necessitated the pinch. And the others being the injured hand leading to him nearly getting blown up. And the briefcase put on top of his hiding spot. Even Tess did her job perfectly not knowing that she had one.
