- Welcome to our first-time watching as we react to Superbad (2007). The comedy in this definitely hit the spot! It took us on a wild ride through high school hijinks, awkward encounters, and unforgettable over the top moments that will stay with us forever.
Directed by Greg Mottola and written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, "Superbad" (2007) follows the misadventures of three inseparable friends on a quest to score alcohol for a party and impress their crushes before graduation. The film does an excellent job at mixing it's raunchy humor with some endearing friendships and wholesome moments. This film truly make the teenagers feel authentic, awkwardness and all!

Jonah Hill as Seth and Michael Cera's Evan are phenomenal! Their chemistry and comedic timing is just that good. They make you feel that friendship and in turn it has the audience rooting for them. Christopher Mintz-Plasse as the offbeat Fogell aka McLovin is iconic in the roll! Just when we thought this film couldn't get any crazier they throw in some Seth Rogen and Bill Hader which are juggernauts in the comedy space and boy they did not disappoint.

Classic comedy. Another one you should consider reacting to is called *Good Boys* it came out in 2019 and it's basically Superbad jr with even younger kids and it's also hilarious and wholesome.
It's a shame we never got more movies with Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. They worked so well together.

If I’m not mistaken Seth Rogan and a friend of his wrote this script when they were in high school
The only thing they got wrong was the bullies.. thats no what bullies or cool kids looked like in mid 2000s

I love how 90% of the time we see Michael Cera on screen, he just looks like that one awkward friend who just tagged along for the ride. And I mean that as a good thing 😂
The stupidest fun fact is that Bill Hader started singing Panama just to sing something because they had no music. The producers said they now have to get the copyrights to the song for the scene. It was the most expensive expense for the film.
It’s really funny that they can say they managed to do what _Back To The Future_ didn’t. That’s why BTTF has _Out The Window,_ by Edward Van Halen, instead of a song by the whole band.
I was in 11th grade when this came out and it was the best thing ever for our Highschool friend group. So relatable, hilarious, and quotable.

I love how this movie actually sounds like it was written by writers who remember what it was like being teenagers. It's nothing fancy or overly smart. It's messy and if they wanna talk about stuff like s*x or c*ck, they will.

Seth and his buddies wrote this in high school and obviously touched it up but it's one reason why it captures being a teen at this time so well. It's how teens talk because it was written by teens lol.

In elementary school and part of high school (we never had a middle school or junior high, just k-6, 7-12) we had home economics several times a week. Cooking, cleaning, basic house work, sewing, ect. Co-ed. In 7th and 8th grade, the boys would cook and sew for the first third of year, and the girls would all do wood and metal shop, it was mandatory, no ala cart classes. The other two thirds of 7th, 8th grades would flip flop and guys would go to shop and girls to home-ec. (1975-1988) We also used to have show and tell in elementary school and hunting rifles were welcome in the schools (no ammo) we all had mandatory gun safety classes in 6th grade and NOBODY had even heard of antidepressants yet. Never heard of school shootings. When people got mad at each other, it was a point of pride to not need more than your bare hands to settle an argument. Teachers all had paddles hanging next to their desks, with implied consent from all parents to use sparingly.

Probably my favorite comedy of all time is Hot Fuzz. It is a British homage/satire to/of buddy cop thrillers and action films. I love it because it is constantly poking fun at the tropes of those kinds of films, while succeeding at being an action buddy cop film. I'd love to see you guys react to it!

I was working in my first job after uni when this movie released. I wrote code for car entertainment systems, so we always had a collection of audio and video CDs and files we used for testing. I got access to a bootlegged version of this movie from a friend and went in to work on a Saturday to the lab to watch it in peace. Laughed like a maniac the whole time. Thank god the lab was soundproofed or security would have thrown me out!

The ending scene where they go separate ways and look back is the perfect representation of having to grow up and lose things that mattered to you in your youth. Not just friendships, but innocence in general .

This movie holds a special place in my heart. I was a sophomore when this came out in high school, and my friends and I were the awkward nerdy geeky losers. But my friend, his older brother, who was a senior with his friends was exactly like Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz Plasse's characters lol. God high-school was so brutal but honestly some of the best memories of my life
This is a fever dream that you almost feel like it could be real. Clerks is the exact same way. So fun and a classic that is over the top but not so much where you feel like it is impossible.

First time I watched this was downrange in Iraq as a convoy medic. The crew and I were all sitting in a tent watching on someone's tiny portable DVD player laughing our butts off. Suddenly the squad leader stopped laughing and goes "wait! Jules is my DAUGHTER'S age" he looked so horrified. He actually left the tent. We just found it funnier for that and made sure he heard all the good stuff he missed.😂
(That crew also showed me "Two girls, one cup." I told them I could had lived my ENTIRE life never seeing that video and been happier. 😅 they were one of my favorite crews to ride with.❤ )

I have to tell this story. I was in high school when this came out and there was a kid at my school who looked a bit like McLovin so obviously that became his nickname. One night I was at a bonfire party (I grew up pretty rural) and we decided to go into town and get some snacks. This kid came along and while we were in the convenience store one of the local cops comes in, sees him, and just goes “McLovin!!” and it was just incredible 😂😂😂
This movie was quoted all junior & senior years at my school 😂😂😂

Superbad was the best modern day comedy made in a long time. Most comedy movies aren't that funny or they try to hard to be funny. This one had me laughing out loud cuz it's about something most adult guys can relate to - trying to go to a HS house party, getting booze when you are underage, and talking to a girl you have a crush on. A classic.

This movie came out right at my senior year and I felt like it was a sum of all the awkward experiences i had as a teen. it really is a timepiece movie of the early 2000's.
