- Secret Santa is back and this Christmas is bigger than ever!
The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift more than $500,000 this holiday season. A lot more. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to help as many people as he can.
We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.
Here is part 1 of our 2020 Secret Santa special. This includes surprises during the month of November until Thanksgiving.
Part 2 of our special will be posted on Christmas Day.

The thing I love about these guys, compared to others doing it, is that they don’t try to milk it. If the person is overwhelmed and quiet, they just pass them the gifts, and then leave them alone with love. So wholesome and beautiful. You’re doing such lovely work. In today’s current state, when I heard the man say “our prayers have been answered,” I burst into tears. We need more prayers answered for SO MANY. 🙏
I will tell you this. When my exwife and I were raising our children. I lost my job 2 wks before Christmas. A local place found out that we would not be having a Christmas. They and the local High School bought presents and gave food and they even bought presents for my wife and I. I said one day I would repay it. 10 yrs later I sponsored a young pair of girls living on their own. I saved my change for one year. $900 and those girls had a wonderful Christmas. I paid it forward and so can you.
Thank you for doing so! Kindness is another type of Virus that we need to be infected with! It will perhaps save us.

@Dean Florey NO, they all need to be evaluated and the good ones need raises and the bad ones need to be gotten rid of. There are also a lot of horrible teachers. The unions are so strong, in some places, that it's nearly impossible to fire a teacher. Good teachers are like gold and bad ones are like fools gold and hide behind, and benefit from, the stellar reputations of the good ones.

My 17 year old daughter and I was the target of our little towns secret Santa . My husband (her father) passed away in May. A few months ago we received a card “from a friend” with cash. Then last night we heard the doorbell by the time we got to the door the person was gone. Two big bags of presents for us. Though this year has had a lot of heartache we have truly been blessed. So thankful for the Secret Santa’s they do make a difference in this crazy world.
About every other month I have been giving $20 to the cashier at the local grocer, to offer to a person who needs it.
I need to do this more often!

Has anyone asked the question...why are so many people in East Idaho in need of help? Is there no govt assistance, are there no jobs, does everyone get a good days pay for hours worked? Its very sad to hear of so many doing it so tough...merry Christmas everyone.🎅

I'm in a wheelchair, but my needs are met. However, upstairs from me is a young mom who has a year old baby - not sure of her financial situation, but I have wrapped and left a few gifts for her baby anonymously on the steps leading upstairs. She has no clue its me because there are several families in this complex. I just sit here and smile, knowing she is wondering.... It's a great feeling :-) Thank you Secret Santa for the great idea! Lately all you hear about is how terrible the United States and it’s citizens are. It’s nice to see that Idaho is showing the world what the States are capable of. Nate, you can tell you are sincere and really feel for the recipients. The Idaho News is lucky to have you. Not everyone can do your job. Americans donate more money than any other country's citizens in the entire world. It isn't even close. That's something to be proud of. No matter what happens on the internet or the tv, Americans actually are caring and kind.

Sometimes people forget, but Americans donate more in charity than any other countries citizens in the entire world by a huge margin. It is something we can be proud of and partake in as much as possible.

Merry Christmas Secret Santa and to all a happy thanksgiving 🦃. I donated my Christmas bonus of $500 to a homeless man who was living in his car with his 2 dogs. It helped him get a couple of new tires & gas to get him to a new job in a different state. Thanks for the inspiration.

Heartwarming that there are people that care, about people. It is obvious these 'recipients' are decent people so the Secret Santa's are also special people. Spread the word, spread the money, make this a better world.
May I point out, as if they don't know, the recipients friends also benefit from these gifts! Making dozens of people happy is not easy.

Yes sales increased and the upper echelon of people in the tax brackets had their wealth increase an order of magnitude.
Taxes are immense at that bracket.
Especially with car dealerships and when you own alot of them you pay alot.
But if you donate to charities then thr amount you pay decreases alot.
Bill gates and others donate to their own charities so they really just launder their own money to avoid paying taxes.
So whoever this secret santa is decided to not pay into some shady "clinton foundation" type organizations and actually make some people happy with their tax breaks.

Seeing how you take care of people with disabilities and health issues makes me so happy. I take care of my father that got in a bad wreck in Dec. 2018 in west valley he was thrown from the car had a broken neck. They told him he would be on a feeding tube for the rest of his life but he tried eating then was able to eat some soft foods. Now is off feeding tube and has a metal plate in his throat. Still has trouble eating. When he was in the Int. Mt. Hospital my mother was bed ridden and they was in the same hospital at the same time. Then my mother went to care place in and out. I took care of both of them. Then my mother passed in April 2020. Then I just moved my dad in with me and my son in syracuse because he now has blood cancer. I know that watching how you have cared for many. You will be blessed. I know how hard it is to care for those that need help. I love to hear how my dad tells me he loves how I have taken good care of him. I also know how blessed I am to of taken care of both of them. I love how you have cared for those people. Your great. Sub for Santa you are wonderful and blessed. Thanks for taking care of many. Love watching.

I have lived many place, different states, cities and community culture varies greatly from place to place. Some places tightness in community is non-existent. Also, outward expression of faith and being okay to live with little and even feeling blessed with the bare minimum is not something you experience everywhere.

I want to help someone this Christmas. I tried so hard when my kids were little to spread little money. These videos make me determined to find a way.
You can always take the homeless a plate with Christmas dinner on it... Thats my plans this year. Even if it's just a few plates, it will make a few people's day.
