If you were going to make a list of rap/hip hop artists that didn't borrow, sample, or experiment with sounds/styles similar to those that other artists have used, you'd be left with a very very shor list (if any list at all). That being said, NF is one of the most versatile & unique artists out there. If you disagree, you're wrong.
@@jonathongeorge3093 you’re right about everything excluding the part about NF being the most versatile and unique. NFs music is very repetitive- everything from his cinematic beats to his flows to his subject matter is practically the same in almost every song. almost no versatility.
The most uniqueness he showcases is in his music videos, but his style and sound itself is so derivative of Em and every other lyrical miracle white rapper with surface leveled bars and fast flows

That just tells me that you have probably listened to one or two songs & neatly packaged this dude in a preconceived box where you can dismiss him. "His flows are repetitive?" 🙄... & "SURFACE LEVEL BARS?!?!" 😂🤣😂🤣🤡🤡. You HAVE to be kidding with that!!
As far as his "content" goes, he talks about real issues that he (& many other people) deal with 🤷♂️. If that's not your cup of tea, then fine... go listen to any of the hundreds of other hip hop artists that will discuss a much wider variety of deep, meaningful topics... like how much money they have, what cars they drive, what designer clothes & jewely they wear, how many women they sleep with, how tough they are, etc. ("surface level bars" 😂🤣)
Finally, you said he has "almost no versatility". It's not an exaggeration to say this is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen someone comment. I'm pretty sure Dev (who has now reacted to @ 50 of NF's tracks over 4 albums) would disagree that his songs all sound the same (& he hasn't even gotten to "Clouds the Mixtape" yet, where NF flexes & experiments more than he had previously).

I used to be a big NF fan so I listened to all of his albums. I do like his beats don’t get me wrong- but you have to admit that all of his beats just sound like different versions of each other. If you want proof for how repetitive his sound is watch czcams.com/video/Xv3MMXtsSjg/video.html and go to 3:25. CDTVProductions shows just how unvaried his flows, topics, beats and overall sound is. NF has a lot of empty filler lyrics in his more boastful songs like When I Grow Up or Paid My Dues.
I listen to Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Tyler the Creator, etc. which are all rappers that talk about topics that range from racism, poverty, mental health, religion, homophobia, etc. instead of limiting themselves to only a couple topics each song.
I think the most versatility NF shows is in his pop or storytelling songs. But for the most part, if NF drops a song, you can probably predict exactly how it sounds like before you listen to it just based off the title.
