It's a matter of constantly both listening to rap and listening specifically to the artist (in this case NF). I tend to catch almost all - if not all - of NF's bars because I've been a fan since I was 8 years old. Learn about their lives and listen to their style constantly. It's harder to do with Eminem or Big Sean, but still something I do.

Lots of time and exposure. He listens to a lot of music which helps him catch subliminal bars about different songs, but also writing music himself gives him a different perspective on how to convey ideas :) it’s a learning process.

This is one of those songs that is just a vibe. The beat just feels good. That's what makes NF:s music so good to me. If I want to get into my feelings I can but if I just wanna listen to something bouncy I can.

This song helped me get through some of the toughest times in my life so far. I remember getting home from work and just breaking down to this song. NF really gets what its like to have a war in your spirit and mind. These words sum up what its like to have anxiety, depression, and generalized mental disorders. As someone who suffers to this day with NVLD and MDD, this is so much more than just a song to me. It's a beautiful rendition of inner monologues and battles with ones ego. Much love to the Knox family and glad to finally get your thoughts on this one! 🖤

I know I’m late to this, but this is proof that Nate can grab a trap rhythm and twist it to the point where it becomes sad and extremely relatable.
