age - 22 years old from the 16th of february (from 1998 since i always forget to update this)
country - belgium.
languages - i normally speak dutch. obviously also english and my french should be pretty good. had some german classes in uni but only technical german.
longboarding since - summer of 2012.
studies - graduated my masters in electromechanical engineering in 2020.
work - working as applications engineer at Magcam, we do advanced magnetic measurements and data analysis :)
filmmaking since - i was probably around 10 years old when i bought my first camera.
favorite music artist - eminem. also listening a lot to j-cole, logic, joyner lucas, g-eazy, and dutch hip hop
favorite movie director - q. tarantino and c. nolan

I got my first longbard yesterday, switched out the bearings, loosened the trucks, and admired it for hours. after school today, I went to the park and learned how to ride pretty quickly because of my penny board experience albeit small. i managed to do a fs 180 pivot, and now I'm working on bs. i always spin either too far or too short, and if I get the spin right I lose balance lmao. i know no one asked but I'm excited to skate some more tmr

Honestly same I'm coming from a cruiser brand and I end up turning to much, but cruiser to standart longboard ain't to hard

Just landed my first trick ever today and for the first time it felt like I was actually flying. Seriously this channel is such a help and inspiration. I recommend to anyone who wants to do this. Thanks Hans Wouters

Can i just say thank you. I would never have started freestyle and dancing if i had never come across your videos! almost 3 years down the line and i'm shredding and putting combo's together like it's nothing! I can't say it's been an easy trip, many falls (some horrible ones too) but with determination and your videos i did it! I respect your raging need to share your passion. Shred hard and stay safe!

Thanks to your videos, 6 months ago I picked up my longboard again only knowing how to carve. Today I enjoyed the flow-y feel of a backwards Peter Pan, pivots and various steps. My absolute favorite way to enjoy my city in quarantine. Thanks Hans, looking forward to getting better!

I am in my early forties and want to give snowboard a try this coming winter season - have been skier all my life. I was suggested to give longboard a try before the season since winter is still few months away. I watched your video on what you wished you knew as a beginner, that video helped me not repeat same beginners mistakes. I am surprisingly learning fast and ready to try some new tricks and this video is perfect for that.
I must also say that I really find you to be really funny and a great human being. You have great perspective to life and in general that you share as tidbits, which I find quite interesting.
Your videos are amazing, thank you so much for it! You are one of the people that inspired me to choose longboard dancing/freestyle.

I never tried to do Honey Butter and often fail Oldschool Kickflip so I dont use it, just dont like this trick

Agreed man, trick tips are good to boost the learning process but it can be misleading to have to copy everything precisely. People doing stuff their way is what’s cool and creative about longboarding. Anyways, thanks for the comment mate!

2:39 One thing that helped me kind of learn this (because I landed it for the first time just recently) was jumping forwards when trying to stick the landing. Also trying to jump forward into grass helped me because it's easier to land on grass and also doesn't feel as scary

Aw thank you for the kind words. Have fun with them :) Yeah, still i sometimes feel bad when people comment "these are not easy". Of course, no tricks are really "easy", all of them require a lot of practice. Either way, these are the ones i would recommend myself when i started :) Have fun!

You make the board slide a 360 rotation on the ground while you jump off (a little bit like a ghost ride) and jump back on the board! What is the name of that trick or even better can you make a tutorial for that??? Best wishes
